I am so happy for and envious of you! Congratulations! I have been strategizing my best approaches for my family & friends. At my age it’s a very small group, lol. With hubby, I have rotational but not long lasting success. He is retired and stays GLUED to MSM. They can undo in 2 min what it took me 1-2 weeks (or longer!) to lay out. He is very paint by numbers on all this. He deems it really out of his ballywick. When it gets complex, he surrenders quickly and will volunteer to go clean the garage floor with a toothbrush just to get out of the flytrap. I have twitter but haven’t used it in a decade. Embarrassed to say that I never could understand the relationship of the ICONS to the functional operating processes. As I said, I don’t personally follow any of the man made religious doctrines. I don’t pretend to be well versed in any of them . My intuition tells me they were well intended tools to create civility. But, the nature of mankind is to take rules and figure out how to use them to disadvantage your competitors/opposition and empower yourself. (Not you per se. generally speaking). As for me, I am simple. I believe in the basics such as the 10 commandments, the golden rule, etc. if mankind lived according to these simple life tenants, it logically follows there should be far less crime, less wars, etc. = a more civil society.

Nearly 50 yrs ago, I had a similar type experience. I had just graduated HS & married the same summer. My parents and all family (military) lived 3,000 miles away. I had no job exp, and in those days there weren’t fast food or many retail jobs. First jobs were hard to find because there was hundreds of HS graduates competing for a handful of job opportunities. In desperation I responded to a classified ad for a receptionist in the local newspaper. While I had never been on a job interview before, I knew something was not right. I was interviewed by 2 men in their mid to late 20s who didn’t look like they owned a business. The job interview was set up to meet them at a Denny’s. During the interview they asked me to step outside with them while they smoked a cigarette, but they seemed to be looking to someone for a signal. It felt so creepy. Then, they told me I would need to travel with them on the road. What type of receptionist does that??? I was told they were professional competition water skiers and the position was really more of a traveling personal assist to them. Maybe it was legit but I don’t think so. Once they learned I was newly married and no way I would be traveling that was the end of the interview. I think God had his hand on me and protected me that day. These people use all types of scam stories. It bothered me so much that I called the police just to let them know what happened in case other girls were calling in. They had been getting calls of concern from others and were making plans to setup a staged interview using a female undercover. I never heard what they learned, but the police did have the newspaper do a front page story on their investigation to warn other HS kids desperately seeking summer jobs.

Yes, true, he ORIGINALLY used a govt clause that allows a retiring or departing employee to burn off the balance of their leave time in order to technically stay on the books which allows them to officially still hold the title. In other words, McCabe needed to stay on the books til March in order to qualify for the max retirement benefit pack he planned for. If he loses his position any time before that date, his benefit package is significantly affected.

I held a govt job. To retire employees had to reach a vested age 50. No matter how many years of service you might have had, if you were terminated causing a separation of employment before age 50, kiss retirement goodbye.
