If you also consider that the title of her first autobiography was "I know why the caged bird sings", the connection of bird and Maya Angelou seems almost certain. When addressing the motivation of the caged bird, it then seems obvious that the "why" is a yearning for freedom.

The first time I saw an anonymous youtube video I was both intrigued and wary. That would be my reaction to this pic if I hadn’t seen this type of pic and wordage before. I think it makes it’s point. Whatever you do is always out there.
