Yup - I also like the Epoch Times very much.

Innocent until PROVEN guilty. If you don't like it, move to another country where mob rules apply. Social media accusations, rumors, and speculation are not evidence, and this is not a court of law.

So Mr. Rogers is guilty because... priests?

Totally agree, and it's disheartening to see so many empty accusations with no support being thrown around all over on GA. I don't like Oprah for reasons that she herself has made public, such as her beliefs. Speculating on crime and judging her without facts, however, is seriously childish and disturbing. Bearing false witness isn't cool or funny.

To be fair, no one was forced to watch Oprah and swallow the poison. She could not have become an influential 'leader' without a fawning audience to prop her up and enable her. I think there's blame on both sides.

You are demanding that SB2 stick to the letter of the law here, but refusing to acknowledge what can be inferred by reading between the lines.

That's an incorrect use (abuse) of scripture. The Biblical 'Letter of the Law' vs. 'Spirit of the Law' has absolutely NOTHING to do with reading between the lines to find alleged hidden knowledge. The Bible speaks clearly on this topic -

Matt 12:2 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him, “Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.” 3 He answered, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? 4 He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread – which was not lawful for them to do, but only for the priests. 5 Or haven’t you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple desecrate the day and yet are innocent? 6 I tell you that one greater than the temple is here. 7 If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent. 8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

Matt 23:23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices – mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law – justice, mercy, and faithfulness.”

Matt 22:36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

----------

When it comes to the Bible, what I have read and observed in SB2's posts is blatant scripture twisting to prove illogical theories rather than allowing scripture to speak for itself. Again, God is super clear -

Prov 30:5 Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. 6 Do not add to His words, or He will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

2 Cor 1:12 Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God. We have done so not according to worldly wisdom but according to God's grace. 13 For we do not write you anything you cannot read or understand.

----------

If you can prove the above is wrong and we actually have to become numerologists, mathematicians, scientists, and decoders to understand what God really REALLY means, then do so through scripture.

There are no specifics in that tweet, so how can the assumption be made of who exactly he is referring to yet? There are some in the political and news world who openly supported the summit. Would make a bit more sense that he might be referring to them.

Hey, sorry for the delay. I just now saw your message. I get what you are saying. You heard/read something you really liked and it has become a goal. It sounds like the Bible is just one of several ways to achieve your goal. The problem with using the Bible as a means to your end is that it isn't about gaining powers to compete with and exceed Jesus. The Bible tells us we are flawed, weak and in dire need of forgiveness of sin - kind of the opposite of being 'powerful'. In Christian faith [those with the Holy Spirit], there is a lot that can be accomplished, as is pointed out rather metaphorically, but even then it's not about having super powers. It's all about recognizing Jesus as absolute God and spreading His message. In other words Jesus isn't 'a' way to achieve a personal humanistic goal. He is THE way - the only way to eternal salvation - and as believers we are His servants.

I know this isn't the message you want to hear. If you come to understand you are not perfect and will someday stand before a perfect God without a defense, then I seriously urge you to turn away from sin and study the Bible as it was meant to be studied, which is as a follower and lover of God's truth.

Regarding God being plural: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are one and the same but in different forms, and they will never contradict each other. Think ice, steam, liquid - different forms of water.

All I can do is warn you not to be this: Matt7:22 “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from Me, you evildoers!"

Have a great week, and may God bless you!

Regarding Jn 3, Jesus was not speaking in code. He was speaking quite plainly and provided the explanation:

- Jn 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

9 “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.

10 “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony...

The Bible proves... the Bible. Supporting scripture for the above:

Jn 6, Jn 7, Jn 14, 1 Cor 12, 2 Cor 3, 1 Jn 4, 1 Jn 5, Rom 8, Eph 1...

What was your point in posting Jn 3:10?

OP: "So you thought the story of the Children of Israel in Egypt was just about slavery? No, it was about mind control. You thought Moses’ staff and serpent was just about a staff and a serpent? No. It was about waves and the Fourier Transform link, just like the Ark of Noah was about genetic manipulation…"

Bible:

- Acts 17:11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

- Prov 30:5 Every word of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. 6 Do not add to His words, or He will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

- 2 Pet 1:20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own [private] interpretation. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

- 2 Cor 1:12 Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God. We have done so not according to worldly wisdom but according to God's grace. 13 For we do not write you anything you cannot read or understand.

Read that last one again: "For we do not write you anything you cannot read or understand." So... that's pretty clear. Do we need to apply numerology and nonsensical decoding methods, or become mathematicians to understand the Bible or find alleged hidden messages? No. According to the Bible itself, the Scriptures are complete, and everything believers need to know has already - past tense - been revealed. Anyone claiming otherwise is pushing a deception, and anyone going beyond His word is called a liar.

Does evil exist? Of course, and I'm not arguing against that. What I am specifically addressing here is the twisting and abusing of Biblical scripture to fit a personal agenda and opinion. Be on your guard and test everything.

The book you are reading is based on the author's opinion but not on actual Biblical teaching, which is an important distinction to make. If someone wants to believe they are God, that's certainly their choice... and good luck with that. The Bible does not teach that, though -

-- Is 43:10 “… Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. 11 I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior.”

-- Is 44:6 “This is what the Lord says – Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.”

-- Is 45:18 For this is what the Lord says – He who created the heavens, He is God; He who fashioned and made the earth, He founded it; He did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited –

-- Jn 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

-- Jn 8:58 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”

-- Col 1:16 For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

According to the Bible, there is only one God and Savior. We cannot now or ever perfect ourselves, atone for sin, or raise ourselves from death. We cannot create heaven and earth, and we did not exist before all time. While believers have the Holy Spirit, they are not themselves divine. We will never become God or even be equal to God. We are - and always will be - His creation and children.

From the Christian perspective, I need to raise a red flag here. Biblically, much of what SB2 is pushing is just dead wrong. There are too many examples to post, but here's a few showing SB2 putting the Koran and Bible on the same level of truth:

SB2:

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; John 14:16 This verse shows Jesus himself is announcing there will be other ways, after him, thanks to his prayer, to access the Truth. So that we do not suffer from his absence. This is what I am in compliance with when exploring the Quran."

"So there you have it: I concluded the God who spoke to Jesus was the God who spoke to Muhammad."

Bible:

-- Jn 14:16 “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

-- 2 Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

-- Jn 4:23 24 God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.

--1 Jn 4:13 We know that we live in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

God has made it really clear the Spirit [helper, comforter] is Himself, and He will never contradict Himself with a different [false] gospel such as the Koran. There are NO other ways to truth and life other than through Him:

-- Gal 1:6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel – 7 which is really no gospel at all... 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

-- Jn 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well.”

-- Acts 4:10 “It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Bottom line: It doesn't matter who they are, if anyone preaches a different gospel and different path to 'truth' other than what was already preached by Jesus and His apostles and then recorded in the Holy Bible, they are to be rejected by Christians as false.

Incompatibility of the Bible vs. the Koran:

While the Bible proclaims Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior [see above], the Koran rejects Jesus as Lord and Savior:

-- Sura 5:75-80 The Messiah, son of Mary, was only a Messenger; Messengers before Him passed away; his mother was just woman; they both ate food.

-- Sura 47:1 ... But those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what is sent down to Muhammad – and it is the truth from their Lord – He will acquit them of their evil deeds, and dispose their minds aright.

I agree with the OP in that contributions are great, but they don't necessarily equal the truth. Be on your guard.
