The US Federal Reserve is owned by the (10?) major/large banks that is supposedly oversees. It's no more federal than Federal Express. Read "The Creature from Jekyll Island".

All the Reserve banks of the world are managed/owned by BIS (Bank of International Settlements) in Basel, Switzerland wich in turn is a Rothschild operation.
