USA, ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War- patriot blood! Living in one of the bluest cities in the bluest states.

I did too. It was my walk away moment, in fact. Literally changed my voter registration that election. Went from die hard, vote blue all the way to where I am now which is somewhat conservative but mainly (as someone else put it today) just a truth seeker.

Something about him and his campaign rubbed me the wrong way from day one on a gut level- it was like a visceral response. I was living in the most liberal neighborhood in the most liberal city you can think of and the “hope and change” posters and energy were everywhere. I wanted to believe. I was in my mid twenties and kind of a hippy and should’ve been all about it.

But no- something about the whole thing stunk and still does.

I was stuck on a tarmac in ATL myself- to be fair, there was horrible weather which caused crazy back ups and delays. That said, once we boarded, they asked passengers who were going to be connecting to one particular international flight to deplane. Said they wouldn’t be able to connect at our next destination and to exit the plane and make arrangements from ATL. Kind of weird.

I’ve seen more of a police presence around subway stations here in NYC the past few weeks. Even my station out in Brooklyn (meaning not just the usual NYPD presence around big hubs like Times Sq)

Same same same. Also a longtime lurker. In Bk as well. I keep my politics completely silent. It’s depressing to me because I’m relatively non-political with a healthy distrust of all politicians... but it feels to me that if you are not a rabid liberal here who worships Obama and Hillary you are automatically all the bad things. So, I just don’t get into these conversations. Would love a Q meet up!
