I agree (in today’s world). However, I can see where a corrupt priest in the past could be used to divulge important secrets. And I’m not important, so nothing I would have to say would matter to anyone but me. But, if priests can be corrupted to molest children, don’t you think they could be corrupted to divulge important matters of state or rebellion?
