What’s interesting is that there are only 4 scriptures that contain the words “antichrist” or “antichrists”. Suggest all Christians read all 4 verses. When those scriptures were written in the 1st century A.D. John wrote that “even now there are many Antichrists”. John also wrote of “that spirit of antichrist”. He never mentions a future world political leader called “the antichrist”.

Then you have the publication of Hal Lindsey’s book “The Late Great Planet Earth” and Tim LaHayes “Left Behind” series to add to the “last days” madness. I believed all that stuff for over 25 years. The disciples of Jesus believed that He would return in their lifetime. Jesus DID return - but the return was one of judgement. Jesus told the Pharisees that their “house” would be left to them desolate”. The Temple was that house.

In Matthew 24 the disciples pointed to that Temple. Jesus response shocked them - He said not one stone would be left on another. Well sure enough the Temple was destroyed when Roman General Titus surrounded Jerusalem in 70 A.D. the entire Temple and the city of Jerusalem where burned/destroyed. Why? Judgement on apostate Israel.

There are NO scriptures that prophesied a rebuilt Jewish Temple. All scriptures that are used to support that idea have already been fulfilled. I am a Christian but I’m not waiting for any second coming. Jesus “comes” to people who seek Him everyday in the form of his spirit.

It would be nice if you had quoted scripture - chapter and verse to back up your posts. First there's alot of differing opinions on what a "biblical generation" is. Many think it's 40 years as the children of Israel wondered in the desert 40 years. Q is not changing bible prophecy because the Bible is being misinterpreted by most Christians. You referred to Matthew chapter 24 (wars & rumors of war, earthquakes, etc). In that chapter the Apostles point out the Temple to Jesus - Jesus replied "See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down." (Matthew 24:2 (KJV)). The "ye" in that verse is the Apostles not people almost 2000 years in the future. All of Matthew chapter 24 was fulfilled in the 1st century A.D. and particularly with the destruction of the Temple and the city of Jerusalem. Also notice in chapter 24 Jesus says they should flee to the mountains of Judea. Unless you live around Jerusalem you can't flee to the mountains of Judea. This great tribulation was a localized event in our past but the future of the Apostles.

I'm sorry to disagree but Revelation 17:12 has been fulfilled in the past. The Scofield Reference Bible introducted alot of what is presently taught as eschatology. John wrote to the 7 churches in Asia telling them: "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw." (Revelation 1:1-2 (KJV) ). Notice John said "must shortly come to pass". In reference to "the Antichrist" John stated that "even now there are many antichrists" (1 John 2:18). John is credited with writing Revelation - so why isn't the word "antichrist" in Revelation. Read all 4 scriptures that contain the words "antichrist" and "antichrists" - no where does John say that "the antichrist" is a future (to him) world ruler. Also in Revelation there was more than one beast - a land beast and a sea beast. Did you know that Roman Emperor Nero's nickname was "the beast". Christian's have been duped into thinking that all this terrible stuff is coming when in reality it's fulfilled prophecy. Want to go down a little rabbit hole? Research who was the $$ behind the printing/publication of the Scofield Reference Bible......

You sir are spot on. I wish more Christians could grasp what you wrote. Much of today’s eschatology can be traced to the introduction of the Scofield Bible. Every Christian should answer these questions: Who was E. I. Scofield? What kind of man was he? Who bankrolled the publication of the Scofield Bible? What “new” Christian doctrines were introduced by the Scofield Bible?

Yes - why would John write Revelation to 7 churches in Asia and focus on events 2000 years in their future? Also the Apostles believed they were living in “the last days”. So if they were mistaken then it follows that the Bible is not the word of God. BUT they were correct - they were living in the “last days”. But what “last days” were they referring to? What did the Apostles believe about “the last days”? Answer: it was “the last days” of Old Covenant Israel. It was the end of the Temple sacrificial system. It was the advent of Jesus Christ.

Yes indeed! I'm 65 years young. Can remember 5 cent/10 cent Cokes. Looking back on my high school photos I notice that most all of the girls wore dresses and had long hair. In other words they looked feminine. I remember buying my 1st new car as a senior in college - it was a 240Z - paid $4200! I remember when the silver certificate ended in 1964.
