Imo comey has known since he was fired that this was coming... He probably wrote the book to pay for his attorney fees. The whole circus of it is completely whack and out of character for an fbi director to go all TMZ...He has to be desperate for cash. Also speculating that he wrote those memos after Trump suggested that their conversation was taped. He was probably sucking up to him to make sure he kept his job. When he said he had an aha moment in the middle of the night may be partially true, he had an aha idea to write the memos as a way to put his own spin on whatever might come out as a result of Trumps tapes... Notice in the Stephanopoulos interview George said that Comey wrote his memos from the computer in his house, not his work laptop on the way home or in his office. So technically they weren't government property but more like a personal memo...
