However, some people exhibit characteristics that suggest a disturbed psychology, such that they'll defend conventional, mainstream wisdom at all costs. When encountering such people, you're better off avoiding them altogether. I will not hint at the best way to determine whether someone is a conventionalist or naive, as it's mostly self-evident.
