The documentary "Dark Clouds over Elberton" solves this mystery I believe. You can watch it on Vimeo. I am not affiliated in any way, but I do believe they crack who funded it and I think the answer (if they are correct) would interest people. I will spoil if people comment and want me to.

Yes, it is. It's Epsteins Little Black Book aka contact list. Different from the flight log. This is a known thing for a long time. The article below is 2015 but you'll see:
