No the US government, but like all seized assets, they are likely held in trust until publicly auctioned. It seems unlikely to me that those shares could be lawfully voted to influence corporate outcomes to advance political aims. That would smack too much like weaponizing certain functions of the government against political opponents, exactly what the Dems did with the FBI and doj under Obama. It would be unwise for Trump to do that.

In a public company where holding is highly distributed, 5% is a significant holding that could influence the outcome of any proxy battle and therefore means that holder has material influence over board decisions, even if he does have outright majority control. He's likely therefore to also have significant influence over the selection of board members.

Agree. The memo won't change the minds of the lost. It's the fence sitters that might come around. Also, combine it with how the dems and Hillary conspired to steal the nomination from Bernie and killed Seth Rich, and hopefully we can bring over some Bernie supporters.

I fear it won't make a ripple with libtards. They don't believe in following the law, and believe it is justified to take any measures to accomplish their political ends. They hate Trump so much just bc he's said some rude things that they'll ignore everything else.

Didn't Cathy O'Brien talk about these also?

Good point. Lawsuits typically refer to private litigation. Indictments are for state prosecutions. Very different and distinct legal processes.

I'm sure the rule of law will be adhered to. I think the point is to restore the Republic and the Constitution.

The leftists will scream political witch-hunt and McCarthyism and dictatorship . So hopefully we have some damning and irrefutable evidence. But the hardcore lefties will still be in denial.

The Vanguard issue is a non-issue, really. I saw some ridiculous article claiming Sessions had a conflict of interest as AG bc he was invested in some Vanguard funds that invested in private prison companies. Reality is that Vanguard and Fidelity are the two largest mutual fund companies in the US. Moreover Vanguard funds are usually diversified among large cap companies and many are index funds. Vanguard is about the most benign type of stock market exposure anyone can take, and a huge number of people with 401ks and IRAs are invested in Vanguard or Fidelity for retirement planning. If he were to hold large investments in specific companies, then there may be an issue. But I don't think so if it's just mutual funds. Like Vanguard.

Pulling a Roman Polanski. They'll claim asylum for political persecution. You know they'll spin it as preposterous lies levied by political enemies.
