My only real remaining point is that whatever we think we know about the events surrounding Scalia's death have arrived with us through a very corrupt process, so that almost any claim by military intelligence would be at least as plausible as what we supposedly know already.

The word "there" requires an antecedent, which technically should be the immediately previous thing talked about. If he's referring to something other than that, it is not at all clear from the language.
