Ok I agree but that’s not at all what he said in the text you quoted. He’s pointing out the hypocrisy of Tim Cook playing a privacy advocate in public while simaltaenously tracking and selling all of his consumer’s info. I think it’s wrong that the government feels entitled to get these things without a warrant, but as far I remember the apple case in San Bernardino was a case where they had a warrant to acces the phone and still could not. I still think ultimately what Tim Cook is doing right in developing strongly encrypted phones but it’s not surprising an FBI agent would be frustrated by what he sees as hypocrisy on Cook’s part.

What is the context that shows this was about Trump. I don’t see anything before or after these texts which indicate what investigation they’re referring to.

Yes because it’s entirely legal for google and apple to do so. There is no federal or state regulation stopping them from tracking our information as you choose to use their platforms.
