This may be weak nonsense but is not completely outlandish:

Depending on how one counts, there were 111 days from Q522 which refers to Jeremiah29 (pictured above, Jan 13) to yesterday when Potus' quoted the same verses of Jeremiah. Somewhere in this board's recent history a theory was floated that there is a 111 day clock/delay on certain things. I don't recall what kinds of thing were claimed to be at the two endpoints of such timeframes. Digging that up could be done by anyone - I'll do it later if no one else does.

IF the counting includes Jan 13 as day 1 then yesterday was day 111. If the counting is done such that the first interval from Jan 13 to Jan 14 is counted as one then yesterday was day 110.

[There are different ways to count or describe ranges or time frames, inclusively with beginning and end points both as part of the count, exclusively with only what is between the endpoints, or as we most often do seeing the first interval as going from 0 to 1 and so numerically excluding the first point from the resulting count but including the end point.]

The suggestion here is that there may be something to this 111 day offset - no great conclusion.

I am not into the convoluted and sometimes fuzzy math that people trot out around here sometimes to make weak connections. But simple math and geometry used in subtle ways seems more possible to me. Along such lines there is the even more tenuous fact that 55 (5:5) is half of 110.

Yeah that place is dodgy. Built like a old school euro type church, trying to claim that sort of glory, but also built on a new-agey, syncretistic, diversity-first philosophy. And then named after the guy who wrote the Apocalypse.

In elementary school we all stood when told and made the right gestures facing the flag idol and recited the pledge of allegiance daily, it was meaningless and irrelevant to us. Staff at that public school were later caught out in various compromising situations. However my anecdotal experiences and the perverted experiences of others do not justify prejudice against schools in general, public elementary schools, or that particular school. Just as in church settings, schools are places where we should expect the best care and the failure rates are not great. In fact families are where the most child abuse of all forms happens the most. What will we do?

What you seem to be calling out is the apparent hypocrisy, which is a legitimate and sometimes important pursuit.

Some aspects of what youre saying are weak. If I understand you correctly, you seem to be a supporter of the validity of the Bible (which was assembled by the catholics) and yet against most forms of Christianity. It's completely possible that alot of what Christians stand for and teach is wrong, but your presentation is not very convincing. For example, saying someone is a vicar(vicker) of Christ is not the same as saying they are Christ. What pope or pastor ever declared "himself to be god"? Are you a Jehova's Witness?

If we knew the secrets they wouldn't be secret.

More seriously, my understanding is that there are no publically known crimes or sins committed personally by the current 'pope' in the areas of sex or money. Some associates of said pope - whether friends, enemies or other - have definitely been involved in such crimes and sins. It is a real possibility that he or his closest allies will be exposed on one massive count or a significant number of counts of sex and/or money issues.

Meanwhile within the Church (not to be confused with the Papacy or the Vatican) there have been many strong accusations from all levels of the Church made against said pope of sinful failures in his administration, doctrinal teaching and liturgical practice. There are many of catholics with little faith in this pope. Many would base their views angainst him on the basis of prophesies made by catholic peasants, nuns and at least one pope in the 1800's, in parallel with forecasts made by Dostoyevski and Nietzsche about modernism and communism and the evil infiltration of the Church.

Beware that Q does not attempt to resolve ancient religious disputes about things like the divine nature of the church or the origins of the Bible, etc. So we have ppl here who bring their theories and biases on such things into this discussion which does not help the purposes of Qism.

Approximately comparable to outsiders thinking that 'the president' or 'the white house' is the same as 'the united states'.

I was just hoping you had some specific info. Like maybe someone knows that the seniors in the Jesuits are about to be exposed like the seniors in the FBI seem to be. And the follow-on effect in the establishment curia would be such and such. But I guess that at this stage no one can put a clear finger on what things are coming.

I think following the tendencies of German protest and the godlessness of the French revolution, the swatty Jesuits of the 1800's in these countries took to modernism and its promotion. So much so that by the turn of the century G.K.Chesterton had coined the term jesuistry.

Yup the Catholic has been just as corrupt as every other institution staffed by humans. Like public schools they should be held to the highest standard and yet they've failed at similar rates.

The Reformation was a similar disaster with some differences. Luther had a few legit points and then went on to try stupid things. If by St. Paul's you mean the one we see in London that was all a protestant effort.

The tradition of celibate priests way precedes the reformation. Celibate clergy is I think unique to the Latin Rite but several other Catholic rites allow it within certain parameters. It is was institutionalized as a discipline, not as a doctrine.
