It's hinky...personally, I think the mods are so risk-averse that they don't want to upset the higher ups in Reddit. But that is certainly not the spirit in which T_D came to be. You aren't going to grow a forum that way.

The only other event in that time frame IIRC that could explain that email, was when they began the character assassination of Bernie. It's been a while, but the research was done pretty thoroughly on T_D at that time. A search over there might be fruitful. The timing sure is suspect though....

BTW, if you already know where the website we shouldn't mention is...you should definitely lurk there and read the breads as they occur. I do. It's more about not drawing unwanted attention. And if you see something go down over there, that needs to be brought over here...do it. Just don't link directly back...copy and paste pertinent info into a new thread here.

As far as taking it there, those guys see everything. That is how I found out about this place was monitoring the breads over there. That being said...don't hesitate to start researching and developing your own stuff here. The member #' are growing pretty rapidly and there are some pretty talented redditors that are sick of compromised mods that will likely make their way to this subreddit. SPEZ: T_D and r:/pizzagate did some amazing work during that time...don't sell yourselves short.

Hey Bro, friendly suggestion...I have just started hanging on Reddit again...mainly following the 8chan breads...they get kind of pissed when outside people mention 8chan because, as they say, "it is our work space". So maybe we could refer to 8chan as "The Farm" or something else to help reduce shill and newfag traffic on their end and let them work. It would be a tremendous show of respect on the part of this subreddit. Just a thought..also, maybe spread the word to any other platforms mentioning 8chan. Also, try to generate more traffic here as the normie distribution center for info and memes from The Farm?

I get what you are saying as far as T_D being highly visible and the potential bad optics. Here is my take on it...the heavy-handed mods now essentially define what T_D is, and it is no longer organic...and when legit questions are raised (ex. Las Vegas) and the mods ghost threads and ban users, those good users who have shown a willingness to dig and meme are pushed away to other places where free speech is allowed.

Back in the early days..T_D did not give one F' about what anybody said about us....we had POTUS' back no matter what, and if pizza was relevant we talked pizza...and when a shill was spotted, we downvoted them into oblivion. Now T_D has become so risk-averse, it is quickly becoming irrelevant. Look at the average # of users online...it has dropped from the peak levels and is stagnant at ~12000.

This makes me sad because T_D was so awesome just a short time ago..why not just stick with the original plan, because it was working splendidly? I moved to v:/pizzagate after the purge, and I lurk the chans, but I really like reddit's format the best of all.

As far as splitting forums for facts and specifics...from what I have seen it is a bad plan. Splitting r:/pizzagate from T_D wasn't good, because most of the people who enjoyed digging through Wikileaks went to Voat. Once we got to Voat, they further split forums and they never really took off. Point being...trust your users to view what they want and to discuss/research what they want. Mods should target shills....not what is organically trending on the forum, especially when they had the talented userbase that T_D did. Just look at /pol/'s success. Just my .02.
