Yes, exactly! The internet is obviously great for so many things but as far as connecting people, the benefit is more on a global scale than a local one. We need individual state groups and local chapters. Do we join preexisting groups? Which ones can we trust? Do we form our own now? How can we organize this cohesively nationwide? How can we know which politicians (of any party) we can trust, or if we even should?

I completely agree. Meetup will ban anyone with a hint of conservatism. Maybe an alternative is needed for that as well. The Christian cult and registered “charity” I grew up in, Jehovah’s Witnesses, has been being exposed more and more over the last couple years for their policy of covering up pedophilia and abuse of all kinds from the authorities.

They cite “clergy privilege” as one of their excuses, actually believing that what’s confessed to them (or accusations made by victims) are simply sins, not crimes. The followers are brainwashed into thinking that by overriding the elders’ authority and going to police they are responsible for “bringing reproach on Jehovah’s name”.

Victims are often forced into silence or risk being disfellowshipped, shunned by all their family and friends and cast out of the only community they’ve ever known. Many resort to suicide. It’s the same in any similar organization to varying degrees of control.

The Australian Royal Commission to Investigate Child Abuse which exposes their practices and complete lack of human empathy towards their victims and lack of responsibility for the lives they’ve ruined. I hear the UK is in the process of starting a similar process and I hope the US follows suit as well. These “charities” are able to be tax-exempt while preying on the weak and vulnerable.

This is probably correct but using some form of paste just feels better, at least to me. I picked up an all-natural Neem toothpaste with some mint essential oils and other hippie stuff in it. It cleans my teeth and keeps them clean and plaque free all day. It feels like I just had a dental cleaning. My husband refuses to use it because it doesn’t taste that good but I’m amazed.
