No. That was a jumbled mess of Classicvania and standard RPG fare. They got better in the GBA and DS installments.

They're pretty good or at least for their platform. Like Aria of Sorrow. The main issue is the asset re-use across games, particularly lazy in CVHD. Even so, I'm salivating at the thought of a Vanillaware-developed Castlevania. Even something like Touhouvania 2 would be nice.
