Some of the old music was had an air of elegance, which was the point since the games were based on Victorian themes of vampires and other horrors.

Instead of feminine, it'd be more accurate to categorize them as lively songs. Whatever that music director was thinking was not about being manly, it was about edginess and darkness, which really doesn't suit the operatic theme of the japanese series.

Because honestly the whole thing came off as a stage opera. The classy character costume design, the airs of nobility in both the villains and heroes, the weapon choices of the whip, sword and the like like an imitation of an old fantasy novel hero.

If he really wanted to be manly, orchestral wasn't really the best choice, he could have taken it into a rock-opera theme for the music instead of the generic vague and slow tones of an untalented hack.

These fucking fops don't understand the importance of melodic centered music. All feeling and no structure makes a musician any beginner could imitate. There's such a lack of expertise in the arts these days.
