There is info and articles going around on why NuBerserk ended up the way it did. Pretty much the director being an ambitious twat working out of his genre of expertise with a studio with relatively low experience with CGI.

I can conclude the same. I liked the movies because of Yuuki Kaji and Takahiro Sakurai doesn't get enough villain roles and is a sort of good way to get someone to check the series and then get them into the manga (worked with my English teacher). That aside, the movies alone just don't hold up on their own, but at least their animation isn't Badserk 2016.
I find it funny how in the 90's Sephiroth was Griffith but in 2012 Cloud is.
I only endured it to see how bad they could fuck it up, and because hai yo.
Luka deserved to be better animated and to be Guts's companion.
The recent ones aren't bad, either. Guts's VA didn't know he kills the kid.
