One of their tactics is to randomly accuse people of racism/bigotry/etc and attempt to get them to respond. Once you respond with

they comb over everything you've posted online and try and find something they consider racist, and then it becomes a controversy.
It's super effective, unless you stay a ghost online, they will get you somehow. It's pretty fucked up, it's basically bullying, to an extreme, doxing, stalking, etc. But they pretend they don't do that stuff and only focus on how they think they're doing such great things and stopping some sort of fascist racist bigot misogynist from destroying someone's life. In reality, they found a few things someone said or did that violate their own personal beliefs and destroyed their life because they think they have justice on their side. I've dealt with it before, and while it was happening I made sure to understand what was happening so when it inevitably happens again, I'm prepared.
They all do similar things. Like Chipman said, no bad tactics, just bad targets. They all do this sort of stuff, but they have no reason to have people SWATTED, because they can ruin their lives by accusing them of all sorts of things, and they can get those accusations out. I can guarantee you if they got gamergays SWATTED, they'd be in their private places talking about how they've just done something great for the world.
The problem is they go after public figures, who need to be known. You develop a game, make a website, etc? They come after you hard. Those are they people they want. And at the same time, they still win in a way, because they force people into the shadows.
It's super terrifying. Imagine you spend the last 3 years of your life making your dream game, and an SJW comes up and finds a post you made 5 years ago that they have a problem with.
