I'd say that's true for most weapons. The ball and cannon are especially awful. If it weren't for the art recharge food they would be totally useless.
I'd rather not beat this dead horse any further but holy shit. I realized that when you assign a blade to a driver they give a voice quip. So I switched to English dub to see what all my blades sound like. They all sound like a 30 year old woman or a 30 year old woman doing a wacky voice. It's atrocious.
