I've hit chapter 5 now and god damn they're raising the flags for a pyra love interest hard. I was going to give up on summoning due to all the commons I get when I got about 5 or 6 rares almost back to back. No KOSMOS though. Anyone recommend some bosses for my level 50 group to bully for rare cores?
Oh god, I know. Thankfully the game doesn't just have a romance plot as the only thing going for the story, it's actually broadly speaking a side note. That and they telegraph it pretty bloody obviously from the start if you're familiar with japanese media. I blame myself for letting Nia grow on me so much.
my beef is what another anon chipped in with a while ago; the tutorial buttons really should be rebindable. I would love to be able to quickly pop to Merc Missions or character loadouts quickly through those keys if I could, with a spot in the pause menu to bring up the tutorials again.
So yeah, rare/legendary core farming. Where should I start, and maybe even when? I'm level 48/49 mostly. Party members 4 and 5 are alarmingly higher levelled, #5 is about level 56. It's a pity because I'm not sure I want him in the group, as Rex is tanking, Nia's healing and I'm alternating between the relevant tanks. I actually quite like them as a character too. He's only been a total dweeb most of the game so far, but I'm impressed the game's made a point to me that it seems he's certainly not stupid or slow on 'important' things like the politics
The intro is really, really, REALLY fucking slow. Not the 'push start to get to do stuff' intro, but I mean the point the game gives you all the toys to play with in combat. You don't get to do the whole "Press + to wreck shit" thing until…. what? Chapter 3? 4? And not even at the start. For the start of the gamer the combat was slow as treacle for me, it's only now when I've hit chapter 4 (well, five now) that I'm starting to feel the combat's hit the stride. Not just in stuff you can do either, but stuff like launching, knockbacks and stuff like the healing blocking (fuck that, seriously) is starting to come up commonly and I'm… well struggling is the wrong word, since I'm largely adapting, but I get the feeling if I wasn't overlevelled I'm be getting shit wrecked. Hell, I mentioned earlier I'm getting my arse handed to me by a special monster over ten levels lower than me purely because at half health they go "Yeah, nah, fuck your healing" and I can't remove the debuff faster than they seem to reapply it. It's only against the boss at the end of chapter 4 you start getting launched often. That is the sort of shit you should be introduced into the teens, if not right after the start of the game.
The story is slow as mollasses too, it sometimes feels like I'm not making progress. Though I'm a fucker for sidequests and stuff, so I'm actually not really progressing for 'reasonable' reasons. The 'problem' with this is I'm at the very start of chapter 5 now, and I'm nearly level 50. All the monsters I'm running into seem to be assuming I'm around level 40. It creates this bizzarre feeling where sidequesting sucks out progress yet it also sucks out satisfaction of the main quest. Obviously I need to simply stop fucking around and push on with the story until I hit a beefgate, and I accept this as a design as I'd rather be 'rewarded' for doing shit before being railroaded and/or punished. Just a bit weird when I'm fighting bosses who barely dent me, and in the cutscene the team go "Oh god, they're destroying us, we can't beat them" before they're 'saved'
I'm hoping it's 'just' everyone is still working their way through the game. I've not heard anything bad about it except from the usual inbreds.

I'm at chapter 5, I'm currently trying to find out how a certain furry jew is going to spoil the party. I'm level 50 with the 'mains' and a certain someone was about level 56 or 57 when they joined, holy fuck.
It does work for Pyra, Mythra or whatever you want to call them too; she's woken up after a 500 year nap and while she isn't my favorite girl I feel bloody sorry for her and understand her. Everything she's ever known is gone; friends are dead or worse, don't remember her at all, a ghostly parody reminding her of what she's lost. I'm only on chapter 5 though so this may way change, however they've done a decent job of making me feel she's utterly lost. It's one of the reasons she's drawn to Rex along with other characters; he's this force of nature who bulldozes through obstacles without fear. He reminds me of Angelos from DoW of all things:

How to I do Electra's quest btw? I have electric mastery at 3, but Mastery of Thunder is languishing at level 1. I get you need to talk to p[eople to level it up, but it never says who. I can't find anyone with a level 1 req-the lowest I can find is in Torigoth with a level 2 req.
Oh I clocked this a while ago. Funny bit is, I've been doing merc missions to boost the commons for the ideas while I salvage; and while I've been salvaging the odd enemy gets shat out and I seem to be at that sweet spot where I can bash the odd rare core out of them for their efforts. This is why I'm wondering about a boss monster to bully for rare cores.
Also, I just got Percival on driver 5. God help us all, the chuunyi is going to be insane.
I like to imagine it's one of those high-cut ones.
