fine from what I know, they started shilling their own /a/ alternative after cuckchan /a/ starting cracking down on memes. I doubt there Cartel controlled considering they uploaded pirated versions of official manga translations. I can't imagine the cartel would do that unless it was part of some over convoluted ruse. It's much more likely they are a non-cartel entity, even if they are cuck-chan users.
