>I used to drink single malt whisky to wake up in the morning but quit cold turkey in 2017 after my doctor said I had to quit
Did you really have to flex on us poorfags like that? lol
It's cool, I wish I could afford to drink it at my leisure.

A technical question about migrations:
what's the bottleneck that keeps the migrations slow? Can't the databases and media be transferred in bulk?
One big reason is that there was no 8chan or 8kun for months. Most went to Mark's bunker back then, vch. But a bunch were lost there already. Then Mark precociously shut down vch before 8kun was ready, there was backlash and I bet a bunch were lost again and didn't return for vch's reopening. Then he shut down vch for real. Another chunk lost. Then there was the drama from a couple weeks ago where he got himself fired.
Death by a thousand cuts.
Maybe now that things are more stable there's a chance.
How many boards await migration? I'm sure it will be a small fraction of the 21k+ late 8chan had, if only because most were effectively abandoned and some never even had their BO log into the mod interface.
About Smiley, he seems to have vanished at least from the internet. Last thing I knew about him is that he had checked into a psych ward and was homeless: https://archive.is/AqRGj
Some people say he might be dead, based on another 4chon thread that died without being archived so I can't vouch for the information being trustworthy.
Also there's an annoying bug where if I forget the trailing slash after the board's url using the hidden service as a domain it redirects me to https://8kun.top/index.html. For example, http://jthnx5wyvjvzsxtu.onion/v takes me there instead of to http://jthnx5wyvjvzsxtu.onion/v/index.html, but http://jthnx5wyvjvzsxtu.onion/v/ works as intended.
Wow, small text links turned out surprisingly cool.
My post seems to have been wordfiltered. Without the trailing slash, you get the clearnet home page.
>all the while mailing ~~cuban~~ honduran cigars to his e-friends.
Sauce?
>when he didn't have enough money to run the servers?
I think the idea was to not do it out of pocket. He's been rather transparent with server costs and even posts receipts as proof.
Hey Ron, several bugs right now
clearnet site is stuck and serving cached versions of pages, some people can post on clearnet but others can't (I can't)
when we post using Tor, the new update code loads the post with an ID that is not "000000". on refresh the post shows with ID "000000" as expected
