>those paytriots come off as batshit crazy
The biggest problem with the movement was how various flavors of unhinged stupid latched itself onto it, and created the most insane interpretations that led many to believe in shit like kids in tunnels, schumann nonsense, clockfaggotry/datefagging, misattributing drops to unrelated things, etc. It became it's own conspiracy by confirming some of the previously pondered conspiracies were actually true, and the people that operate just like Alex Jones does for MOS brought the retardedness with them, and amassed an incredible following on Twitter. I suppose there really is no such thing as bad publicity, but this movement was baptized in it right out the gate.
