"A Matter of Trust"

by Billy Joel

Never heard this song before.

Pretty good song IMO.

Music & lyrics good.

Enjoy. And think about trust. What happens when there is too much of it. And what happens when there is too little.

> strange taste

Yes. You do. Kek. (Haven't watched this one yet.)

I never took LSD or any hard drugs. Just not my thing. Of course I know people who have, and I do not judge them. Like most people, I have drank too much wine on a few occasions and gotten sick afterward. It feels good until it doesn't. And then it feels horrible and you puke your guts out.

Sorry your friend overdosed and died.

Have known several of those in the oldest generation who were lifelong alcoholics and seen the emotional destruction they wreaked on those who cared about them. Almost like they were demon-possessed when they drank.

Substances are not inherently bad or good. (Well, maybe some are.) But some hold great danger.

Back in my day that meant Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Band, for example. I recall sitting on the floor in my high school friend's room, and hearing it for the very first time. Wow. It was mind blowing.

I bought the album and played it at home. One day my mother heard "She's Leaving Home" and she started to cry when she heard the words. Because it was prescient. Then it happened. The black sheep autist daughter never fit in with what was conventionally expected.

Allman Brothers

Ramblin' Man

I love the guitar work. Deep South blues-inspired, but their own unique sound.

This band, in case you don't know, featured 2 lead guitars and 2 drummers.

Something for each ear, kek.

Tasted Roulette then Tira.

Is there a name for this kind of music?

It seems more on the avant-garde side of electronic music.

"A commonly cited example of avant-garde music is John Cage's 4'33" (1952), a piece which instructs the performer(s) not to play their instrument(s) during its entire duration."

A music critic who attended the first performance praised the work. "I hope Mr. Cage will write more and longer works of this type."

Ever see the movie

Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of balance

with score by minimalist composer Philip Glass (chorus, ensemble and orchestra, 1982).

"Koyaanisqatsi, also known as Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance, is a 1982 American experimental film produced and directed by Godfrey Reggio with music composed by Philip Glass and cinematography by Ron Fricke. The film consists primarily of slow motion and time-lapse footage of cities and many natural landscapes across the United States."

Never heard them.

Classical music is my knowledge base.

Just playing around pop music, my experience in that world is very limited.

Spouse anon listens to all this kind of music you'all like (on headphones, kek).

I guess you would probably refer to is as the holy spirit, the breath of God? I'm beginning to think it's the same thing, the breath of God, hyperdimensional energy of immeasurable quantity, flowing through invisible immeasurable superconductors.

Conservative = conserve what is good from the past

โ†“

Chaos = everything in a state of flux

โ†“

Forward looking = imagine and create what is good for the future

How do we know what is good?

During a state of chaos, can there even be agreement on criteria?

Digital warriors have received intensive training on tolerating chaos!

Last night, someone again proclaimed us ready.

OMG that is so beautiful!!!

Love that song.

Song is very special to me. A certain person, who is no longer among the living, played it for us, in his car, during our last visit seeing him alive. Only time he ever did anything like that. It was Leonard Cohen version. If he had

lived, he would have been an anon. He had been active on IRC for a long time.

Our nervous system, perceptual apparatus, & mind, can be manipulated and are not objective truth. The vid demonstrates that. It's what the Heart Sutra (chanted daily by many Mahayana Buddhists) is about, too.

Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva

when practicing deeply the Prajna Paramita

perceives that all five skandhas are empty

and is saved from all suffering and distress.

Shariputra,

form does not differ from emptiness,

emptiness does not differ from form.

That which is form is emptiness,

that which is emptiness form.

The same is true of feelings,

perceptions, impulses, consciousness.

Shariputra,

all dharmas are marked with emptiness;

they do not appear or disappear,

are not tainted or pure,

do not increase or decrease.

Therefore, in emptiness no form, no feelings,

perceptions, impulses, consciousness.

No eyes, no ears, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind;

no color, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch,

no object of mind;

no realm of eyes

and so forth until no realm of mind consciousness.

No ignorance and also no extinction of it,

and so forth until no old age and death

and also no extinction of them.

No suffering, no origination,

no stopping, no path, no cognition,

also no attainment with nothing to attain.

The Bodhisattva depends on Prajna Paramita

and the mind is no hindrance;

without any hindrance no fears exist.

Far apart from every perverted view one dwells in Nirvana.

In the three worlds

all Buddhas depend on Prajna Paramita

and attain Anuttara Samyak Sambodhi.

Therefore know that Prajna Paramita

is the great transcendent mantra,

is the great bright mantra,

is the utmost mantra,

is the supreme mantra

which is able to relieve all suffering

and is true, not false.

So proclaim the Prajna Paramita mantra,

proclaim the mantra which says:

gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha

gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha

gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha.
