I think it's really good. Amazing really. Colombia will be a good addition when there's time to get to it. The Chinese push into worldwide ports and markets. Strategic significance of the Panama Canal (China leased it didn't they? - but the bigger tankers can't go thru.)

There are some arrows missing. (That's OK), just arranging the blocks together as you did in top right is perceived as a grouping.

I would have a hard time doing the diagram because would be really uncomfortable with not specifying a second level of detail, which simply will not fit on such a huge map already.

An Arrow is a Relationship.

Right now the Relationship() function is "is connected to"

A more detailed diagram would have different arrows for different relationships.

(typical arcs and circles diagram puts labels on the arrows as well as the block).

So that would throw me for a loop because it's too hard. Humanly possible, but is the level of effort required worth the trouble.

I like the simplification of just showing people/countries/companies and connections. It really cuts down the amount of details yet captures enough info to pursue further digging. (Names are usually unique).

I am very comfortable with abstraction, but less so with details. A different part of the brain deals with things having enumerated details, it's a less-preferred cognitive style for me. Have to kind of force myself when it's needed.
