Durham says techies linked to the Clinton campaign had access to White House and Trump Tower internet data.

In a new legal filing, the special counsel says a tech company that had access to Trump's internet communications shared that data with operatives working for the Clinton campaign in 2016. Images: Getty Images/AP/Masterclass/Reuters Composite: Mark Kelly

Special Counsel John Durham continues to unravel the Trump-Russia “collusion” story, and his latest court disclosure contains startling information. According to a Friday court filing, the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign effort to compile dirt on Donald Trump reached into protected White House communications.

The filing relates to Mr. Durham’s September indictment of Michael Sussmann, a lawyer who represented the Clinton campaign while he worked for the Perkins Coie law firm. Mr. Sussmann is accused of lying to the FBI at a September 2016 meeting when he presented documents claiming to show secret internet communications between the Trump Organization and Russia-based Alfa Bank. The indictment says Mr. Sussmann falsely told the FBI he was presenting this information solely as a good citizen—failing to disclose his ties to the Clinton campaign. (He has pleaded not guilty.)

https://twitter.com/TomFitton/status/1493450963407060996

  1. Trudeau has no legal justification for invoking the Emergencies Act.

It has never been invoked before – not even on 9/11, or the 2014 terrorist attack on Parliament.

Trudeau called the truckers "terrorists" but everyone can see that's a lie.

  1. Tonight Trudeau called the truckers, and the countless citizens cheering them on, "dangerous" and "not peaceful". But in fact there has not been a single act of violence committed by any of them in two weeks.

  2. The Emergencies Act is to made to defend against a genuine threat to the security of the nation. The definition of "threat" in outlined in the CSIS Act. It has an extraordinarily high bar:

  3. There is no espionage threat; no foreign clandestine coup plot; no "serious violence"; no covert act "intended ultimately to lead to the destruction or overthrow by violence".

And the act specifically excludes "lawful advocacy, protest or dissent".

  1. This is a coup – from within government. A desperate, flailing politician who bungled the pandemic, antagonized millions of Canadians and sits at just 16% in the polls (source: https://winnipegsun.com/opinion/editorials/editorial-protests-blockades-damaging-trudeau

https://sputniknews.com/20220215/ex-us-national-intel-chief-on-durham-probe-therell-be-quite-a-few-more-indictments-1093048497.html

Ex-US National Intel Chief on Durham Probe: There'll Be 'Quite a Few More Indictments'

Former US Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Ratcliffe has expressed hope that new indictments will come out of Special Counsel John Durham's inquiry into the origins of the FBI investigation of ex-President Donald Trump's alleged links to Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign. In an interview with Fox News, Ratcliffe said that "[then-Attorney General] Bill Barr, John Durham, and I, all looking at this intelligence, agreed there was not a proper predicate to open a criminal investigation into the Trump campaign, yet that happened".Ratcliffe did not elaborate on who exactly he expected to be indicted. He instead moved on, referring in the interview to a discussion he had with Durham in the fall of 2020, when the former DNI boss ordered the declassification of documents related to the FBI's "Russiagate" probe. He claimed that Brennan briefed then-President Barack Obama and then-Vice President Joe Biden as well as other members of the national security team about "this specific intelligence, that John Durham now has, about a Hillary Clinton plan to falsely accuse and vilify Donald Trump with a scandal, and the discussion around that and whether or not it was good intelligence".Ratcliffe argued that the evidence "could go broadly and deeply" and that he thinks "it does, based on intelligence that I have seen and that I discussed with John Durham".The remarks came as Fox News reported that the Durham probe has "accelerated", with more people "cooperating" and testifying before a grand jury than was previously revealed. The news network cited an unnamed source as saying that there has been "much more activity" behind the scenes "than has been visible to the public", and that Durham "does this right and keeps it a secret".The claims were preceded by the special counsel revealing in a new filing that in the run-up to the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign paid a tech company to "infiltrate" Trump Tower and White House servers, with the alleged goal of smearing the then Republican presidential hopeful by linking him to Russia.Trump responded by claiming Durham's filing "proves indisputable evidence" that his campaign and presidency "were spied on by operatives paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign in an effort to develop a completely fabricated connection to Russia", which has repeatedly rejected all "collusion" allegations. In April 2019, a report by then-Special Counsel Robert Mueller revealed that his probe found insufficient evidence to prove collaboration between Russia and Trump's campaign team ahead of the 2016 election.

US Special Counsel John Durham has been looking into the FBI's "Russiagate" investigation since April 2019 to determine whether the probe was legal.

In an interview with Fox News, Ratcliffe said that "[then-Attorney General] Bill Barr, John Durham, and I, all looking at this intelligence, agreed there was not a proper predicate to open a criminal investigation into the Trump campaign, yet that happened".

"So, those are the issues that John Durham is looking at, and I think there'll be many more — I would expect there to be quite a few more indictments because of that. There was not a proper predicate to begin that investigation. John Durham has said that publicly already", the ex-DNI chief added.

Ratcliffe did not elaborate on who exactly he expected to be indicted. He instead moved on, referring in the interview to a discussion he had with Durham in the fall of 2020, when the former DNI boss ordered the declassification of documents related to the FBI's "Russiagate" probe.

"We talked about [then-CIA Director] John Brennan's notes, talked about, you know, [former Secretary of State] Hillary Clinton's campaign advisers. Obviously, the pleadings talk about Hillary Clinton's campaign lawyers, now you're talking about consultants", Ratcliffe said.

He claimed that Brennan briefed then-President Barack Obama and then-Vice President Joe Biden as well as other members of the national security team about "this specific intelligence, that John Durham now has, about a Hillary Clinton plan to falsely accuse and vilify Donald Trump with a scandal, and the discussion around that and whether or not it was good intelligence".

According to the former DNI chief, Durham found evidence of "a conspiracy, meaning two or more people in furtherance of a crime; and anyone that was aware that this campaign plan was going to be falsely pitched to the FBI or the CIA or law enforcement or intelligence authorities would be subject to criminal prosecution for any number of criminal crimes — mail fraud, wire fraud, lying under oath, congressional testimony, false testimony to prosecutors, all of those things".

Ratcliffe argued that the evidence "could go broadly and deeply" and that he thinks "it does, based on intelligence that I have seen and that I discussed with John Durham".

The remarks came as Fox News reported that the Durham probe has "accelerated", with more people "cooperating" and testifying before a grand jury than was previously revealed. The news network cited an unnamed source as saying that there has been "much more activity" behind the scenes "than has been visible to the public", and that Durham "does this right and keeps it a secret".

The claims were preceded by the special counsel revealing in a new filing that in the run-up to the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign paid a tech company to "infiltrate" Trump Tower and White House servers, with the alleged goal of smearing the then Republican presidential hopeful by linking him to Russia.

Trump responded by claiming Durham's filing "proves indisputable evidence" that his campaign and presidency "were spied on by operatives paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign in an effort to develop a completely fabricated connection to Russia", which has repeatedly rejected all "collusion" allegations.

In April 2019, a report by then-Special Counsel Robert Mueller revealed that his probe found insufficient evidence to prove collaboration between Russia and Trump's campaign team ahead of the 2016 election.

Dow rallies 387 points after Russia withdraws some troops around Ukraine

US stocks rallied Tuesday after Russia said it pulled some troops back from the Ukraine border.

Oil prices retreated from eight-year highs and gold slipped.

The 10-year Treasury yield rose to 2.036% from Monday's 1.995%.

US stocks rallied on Tuesday on hopes that geopolitical tensions are cooling after Russia pulled back some of its troops from the Ukraine border.

The announcement from the Russian defense ministry came after weeks of heightened tensions between Russia, Ukraine, and the West over fears that President Vladimir Putin would choose to invade.

The S&P 500 rose, lifted by energy stocks, after falling for three straight sessions. The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average and the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite both climbed over 1%.

Here's where US indexes stood shortly after the 9:30 a.m. open ET on Tuesday:

S&P 500: 4,453.59, up 1.18%

Dow Jones Industrial Average: 34,953.46, up 1.13% (387.29 points)

Nasdaq Composite: 14,015.49, up 1.64%

US equities have been declining in recent days as investors kept track of the tensions in Eastern Europe. It's unclear how many troops Russia withdrew, but the signal was enough to flip the market back to "risk-on" mode.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov later confirmed the start of a withdrawal and slammed Western "hysteria" over the reality of an invasion.

"Any indication of thawing tensions between Russia and Ukraine is enough to spark a small rally in stocks," David Bahnsen, CIO at The Bahnsen Group, a wealth management firm, said in a note Tuesday. "The two equally powerful forces weighing on stocks right now that are exacerbating volatility include Russia/Ukraine tensions and Federal Reserve hawkishness."

The threat of Russia invading Ukraine sparked fears on Wall Street over the impact on global equities and the economy. On top of this, calls for the Fed to hike interest rates to stem inflation have contributed to market turbulence.

But JPMorgan said the bull market is "far from over." The bank believes a lot of bad news is already priced into the market, and any conflict between Russia and Ukraine would likely lead to a dovish reassessment by central banks.

The 10-year Treasury yield rose to 2.036% from Monday's 1.995%. Bond yields move inversely to prices.

Crude-oil prices have seen upward pressure in the past eight weeks amid increasing tensions between Russia, a major oil producer, and Ukraine, which is a key conduit for energy exports to Western Europe.

Oil prices retreated from their eight-year highs Monday. West Texas Intermediate crude slipped 3.34% to $92.27 per barrel. Brent crude, the international benchmark, slipped 2.97% at $93.61.

Gold, seen as a safe haven during times of wariness, fell 0.80% to $1,856.26 per ounce after hitting an eight-month high earlier on Tuesday.

Bitcoin rose 0.42% to $44,368.40.

Trudeau Fanning Protest Flames by Invoking the Emergency Act

Canada has been wracked with growing anti-mandate protests since the truckers’ Freedom Convoy descended on Ottawa over three weeks ago.

The government and legacy media initially tried to ignore the growing convoy.

As the convoy gained steam and interest across the nation while it moved through city after city towards Ottawa, the government tried to pretend that it was simply a handful of discontented truckers and dismissed them.

When the City of Ottawa found itself absolutely paralyzed with thousands of protesters supported by hundreds of tractor-trailers, the government moved on to a campaign of division and villainization. They tried to paint the protesters as extremists, racists, and misogynists.

Trudeau went into hiding for over a week only to surface now and then, toss some more fuel upon the fire through insults directed at the protesters, and then drop back into hiding.

With every passing week, the number of protesters continued to grow along with the locations for protests. Border crossings in a number of provinces have been hindered and blocked by protesters and it appears that the demonstrations may spread further. We have even seen convoys springing up in foreign nations inspired by the Canadian protests.

It is pretty evident that the government’s strategy for dealing with the Freedom Convoy has been an abject failure.

Now, having totally lost control of the situation, a panicked and desperate Justin Trudeau has invoked the Emergencies Act.

The Emergencies Act is a new incarnation of the War Measures Act and the invocation of such a measure hasn’t been done since 1970 when the militant Quebec separatist group FLQ was literally bombing, robbing, and kidnapping Canadians. The truckers’ protests to date have been incredibly peaceful considering how many thousands of people have taken part.

One thing Justin Trudeau never tried for a second was respectful discourse with the protesters. He doesn’t have to go out groveling and kneeling among them as he did with the Black Lives Matter protesters in 2020, but he could have at least been receptive to listening to them. He never even made the slightest effort.

Some could claim that such an effort to deescalate things would be a waste of time, at least they could before Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson made a deal with protesters to move them out of residential zones in the city. The convoy protesters moved out of the residential areas without complaint or issue.

What magic did Watson do to get these intransigent extremists to bend to his will? How did he manage to defang this angry beast?

Mayor Jim Watson offered the protesters something Justin Trudeau has refused to give them: respect.

Watson wrote a letter to the protest organizers politely asking them to move their protest closer to Parliament Hill in order to take pressure off residents. He explained how it was exhausting and causing stress for people living in the area. The protesters nodded and complied. No threats. No police lined. Just a polite letter.

This isn’t to say that the protesters would decamp from Ottawa if they received a nicely written letter from Justin Trudeau asking them to go. It does show that the protesters are receptive to reason and compromise when it is offered to them though.

The very first step in resolving any conflict is to initiate a dialogue. A responsible leader will explore and try every avenue to deescalate a situation before resorting to force. It doesn’t mean the leader is capitulating or letting themselves be pushed around. It just means the leader is not acting in dangerous haste when there is a possibility for a peaceful resolution.

Invoking the Emergencies Act against the protesters should have been a step of absolute last resort. The act suspends a number of civil rights and can potentially pave the way for military action against Canadian citizens. In using this hammer against protesters who have been peaceful, Trudeau may turn these protests ugly. Images of police or possibly even military action being taken against peaceful protesters could tear the social fabric of Canada irreparably.

As with every other action from the federal government with the Freedom Convoy, I expect their latest move will only inflame and entrench the protesters further. Tensions are going to escalate as the number of protesters grows and physical conflict may end up being inevitable.

This all could perhaps have been avoided if the Trudeau government had begun with an attitude of respect for citizens and tried to open dialogue with the protesters.

We will never know now because the government didn’t even try.

Louisville mayoral candidate targeted in campaign headquarters shooting, authorities say

Washington (CNN)A Democratic candidate for mayor in Louisville, Kentucky, was the target of a shooting Monday morning at his campaign headquarters, authorities said.

Democrat Craig Greenberg was the target of the shooting in the city's Butchertown neighborhood, Louisville Metropolitan Police Department Chief Erika Shields said, adding that although there were no injuries in the incident, a round did appear to strike Greenberg's clothing.

Quintez Brown, 21, has been charged with attempted murder and four counts of wanton endangerment in the first degree in connection with the shooting, according to Louisville Metro Police Department Public Information Officer Elizabeth Ruoff.

CNN has been unable to determine if Brown has obtained an attorney.

Greenberg said Tuesday that he and his staff were gathered for a morning meeting in his office at campaign headquarters when an individual walked in.

"We asked if we could help him. And he pulled out a gun, aimed it directly at me and opened fire," Greenberg told CNN's John Berman on "New Day." "I was fortunate that one of my brave teammates slammed the door shut. They were able to throw some desks on top of the door and the suspect fled. So, we are very blessed to be here today. All of us on the team are."

The Louisville Courier Journal identified Brown as a former intern and editorial columnist with the newspaper.

Shields said earlier Monday that authorities had "no known motive at this time," adding: "We also have no reason to believe at this time that this individual was acting anything but alone."

Greenberg told CNN he was under the impression that he was the target of the shooting when asked about the investigation. He said he doesn't believe he had met Brown prior to the shooting but recalled reading about him in media reports from the previous year.

The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting local police investigating the incident, spokespeople for the agencies told CNN.

Tim Beam, a spokesperson for the FBI, also confirmed that FBI agents responded to the scene. Beam said the FBI is working to determine whether any federal crimes took place during the attempted shooting.

ATF spokesperson Cassandra Mullins confirmed that the agency is assisting Louisville Metro Police in responding to the incident, which began after 911 calls were made regarding an "active aggressor."

Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear said in a tweet that he was "appalled to learn about the attempt on Craig Greenberg's life."

"I have spoken with Craig and I am grateful that he is physically unharmed. Violence is never the answer," he continued.

Plane With 8 Aboard Crashes Off North Carolina; 1 Body Found

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C.—A small plane carrying eight people crashed into the ocean off North Carolina’s Outer Banks and left behind multiple debris fields where crews searched for the missing passengers, the Coast Guard said.

One body has so far been recovered and identified, Carteret County Sheriff Asa Buck told reporters Monday afternoon. He declined to release that person’s name or details about the other people who were on board, including their ages, “out of respect for the families.”

“We have no indication that anyone survived the crash,” the sheriff said.

Search crews are still looking for the main body of the plane but have identified three debris fields, which had been moving farther off shore into the Atlantic Ocean, Buck said.

U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Matthew J. Baer told reporters that multiple vessels from various agencies are continuing the search. In a tweet Monday night, the Coast Guard said a cutter would remain on the scene overnight.

“We’ve got an all-hands-on-deck event going on here,” Baer said. “And we want the citizens of Carteret County and eastern North Carolina to know that your Coast Guard is out there doing our absolute best alongside our partners.”

Most of the family members of the plane’s passengers live in Carteret, a coastal county of nearly 70,000 people, Buck said. The county includes communities such as Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach as well as the Cape Lookout National Seashore and its iconic Outer Banks lighthouse, which has a black-and-white diamond pattern.

“We’ve been in very close contact with the family members,” the sheriff said.

The Coast Guard said in a news release that it received a report of a possible downed aircraft about 4 miles (6.4 kilometers) east of Drum Inlet from a Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point air traffic controller Sunday. The air traffic controller reported that the aircraft was behaving erratically on radar, then disappeared from the screen.

The single-engine Pilatus PC-12/47 crashed into the water approximately 18 miles (29 kilometers) northeast of Michael J. Smith Field in Beaufort, North Carolina, about 2 p.m. local time Sunday, according to an email from the Federal Aviation Administration. A preliminary accident notification on the FAA’s website noted that the aircraft “crashed into water under unknown circumstances.”

FlightAware listed a departure for that plane from Hyde County Airport at 1:35 p.m. Sunday and noted it was last seen near Beaufort at 2:01 p.m.

“Our prayers and deep concerns go to the families and loved ones of the passengers,” North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper said on Twitter Monday afternoon. “We’re grateful for the people in our state and local agencies who are supporting the efforts of the Coast Guard and other first responders.”

The search included boats and a helicopter from three Coast Guard stations, local fire, sheriff’s department personnel, and National Park Service beach crews.

The National Transportation Safety Board said on Twitter Monday that it is investigating the crash.

US Navy engineer admits selling submarine secrets

The 43-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to communicate restricted data

A former US Navy engineer pleaded guilty on Monday to attempting to pass classified information about America’s nuclear-powered warships to an individual he believed was representing a foreign government.

Jonathan Toebbe, 43, appeared in federal court in Martinsburg, West Virginia, where he was charged with a single count of conspiracy to communicate restricted data, punishable by between 12 and 17 years in prison.

Toebbe and his wife, Diana, were detained in October after authorities claimed that he had taken advantage of his access to classified information and sold details about Virginia-class submarines. In his role as an engineer, he had previously held a top secret security clearance at the Department of Defense.

Falsified test results for US submarine steel land metallurgist in prison

The FBI launched an undercover operation to catch Toebbe in April 2020 after he sent a package of Navy documents to a foreign government, which was obtained by American authorities from its legal attache office in the unnamed country.

An FBI agent posing as a representative of a foreign nation made contact with Toebbe and transferred $100,000 in cryptocurrency in exchange for his classified information.

When the FBI searched the Toebbe family’s residence in Maryland, agents discovered bags containing shredded documents, thousands of dollars worth of cash, and a “go bag” that contained a USB flash drive.

During his plea hearing, Toebbe admitted that, along with his wife, he had conspired to sell top-secret information to a foreign government with the aim of trying to “injure the United States.”

His wife is accused of having monitored “dead-drop” locations where her husband left memory cards that were filled with government secrets in discrete items, such as a chewing gum wrapper. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Somewhat predictably, the zero day hack is a ‘Use-After-Free’ (UAF) exploit and UAF attacks continue to be far and away the most prevalent and successful form of Chrome hack. Not only do UAF exploits make up five of the eight hacks listed here, it brings the total number of successful Chrome UAF attacks to 26 since the start of the year. On the flipside, this is the first successful Chrome Zero Day hack in 2022 which is impressive.

UAF vulnerabilities are memory exploits created when a program fails to clear the pointer to the memory after it is freed.

In a distant second place are Heap buffer overflow attacks, responsible for another of the successful attacks Chrome has reported above. Also known as ‘Heap Smashing’, memory on the heap is dynamically allocated and typically contains program data. With an overflow, critical data structures can be overwritten which makes it an ideal target for hackers.

What You Need To Do

In response to these hacks, Google has announced Chrome 98.0.4758.102. Google warns that the release “will roll out over the coming days/weeks”, so you may not be able to protect yourself immediately.

Google, Google Chrome, Chrome browser, Chrome update, Chrome privacy, Chrome security, Chrome upgrade, Chrome latest version

To check if your browser is updated, navigate to Settings Help > About Google Chrome. If your Chrome browser is listed as 98.0.4758.102 or higher, you are protected. If the update is not yet available for your browser, check back regularly. Zero Day hacks are the most dangerous kind of security exploit.

And remember: after updating Chrome must be restarted for the fixes to take effect. Chrome is now used by 3.2 billion users worldwide on desktop and mobile, making it arguably the number one target for hackers. Those who forget to restart become easy targets.

Go update now.

Actor (((Zachary Horwitz))) sentenced to 20 years for running $650 million Ponzi scheme

Zachary Horwitz was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison on Monday for running a massive Ponzi scheme that raised at least $650 million from investors in phony Hollywood film licensing deals.

The aspiring actor from Los Angeles, who went under the screen name Zach Avery, was also ordered to repay more than $230.3 million.

Prosecutors alleged that from 2014 to 2019, the 35-year-old secured hundreds of millions of dollars in loans for his film company, 1inMM Capital LLC, by falsely claiming the money would be used to buy distribution rights to films that would then be licensed for distribution to streaming platforms, such as Netflix and HBO.

However, Horwitz went on to use some of the money to repay earlier investors in a classic Ponzi scheme, prosecutors said. He also used the funds to support a more lavish lifestyle that included a $6 million home, expensive cars and private jets.

More than 200 investors, including three of Horwitz’s closest college friends and their family members, lost about $230 million, authorities said.

Horwitz appeared in several movies, usually in smaller roles. He pleaded guilty in October to one count of securities fraud after his April 2021 arrest.

"Defendant Zachary Horwitz portrayed himself as a Hollywood success story," said the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California. "He branded himself as an industry player, who, through his company… leveraged his relationships with online streaming platforms like HBO and Netflix to sell them foreign film distribution rights at a steady premium… But, as his victims came to learn, [Horwitz] was not a successful businessman or Hollywood insider. He just played one in real life."

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway reveals $1 billion stake in Activision Blizzard

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway built a major stake in Activision Blizzard last quarter.

The investor's company purchased nearly 15 million shares, worth about $1.2 billion today.

Microsoft struck an all-cash deal in January to acquire Activision Blizzard for $69 billion.

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway built a billion-dollar stake in Activision Blizzard last quarter, before Microsoft agreed to acquire the video-games giant in January this year.

The famed investor's company purchased 14.7 million shares of the "Call of Duty" and "World of Warcraft" studio, giving it an almost 2% stake worth $975 million at the end of December, a Securities and Exchange Commission filing revealed on Monday.

Microsoft agreed to acquire Activision Blizzard in an all-cash deal for $69 billion in January, helping to propel the video-game company's stock price up 21% this year, and boosting the value of Berkshire's stake to $1.2 billion today.

Activision Blizzard stock plunged 45% from its February peak to its November trough last year, as the developer weathered several internal challenges, likely making it cheap enough to pique the interest of Buffett and his deputies.

If Microsoft wins regulatory approval for its $95-per-share offer for Activision Blizzard, Berkshire's stake would be worth $1.4 billion. Buffett may be pleased by the all-cash terms of the deal, as he's avoided buying Microsoft stock for Berkshire given he's best friends with Bill Gates and doesn't want to raise suspicions that he's acting on inside knowledge.

Buffett's company made several other changes to its portfolio. For example, it slashed its AbbVie and Bristol-Myers Squibb stakes by nearly 80%, cut its March & McLennan and Royalty Pharma holdings, and sold its position in Teva Pharmaceuticals.

On the other hand, it boosted its Chevron stake by a third to 38.2 million shares. It also disclosed a $1 billion stake in Nubank following the Brazilian lender's stock-market debut in December.

Overall, Berkshire's US stock portfolio swelled in value by 13% to $331 billion in the final quarter of 2021.

Berkshire owns scores of businesses including See's Candies and Geico, and holds multibillion-dollar stakes in Apple, Coca-Cola, and other public companies. It also boasted $149 billion in cash and short-term investments at the end of September.

Buffett has been itching to deploy a chunk of Berkshire's cash on a big stake in a public company or an elephant-sized acquisition for years. However, he's struggled to find bargains with stocks near record highs, and private equity firms and SPACs pushing up the prices of businesses.

In the absence of any great deals, Buffett has plowed billions of dollars into stock buybacks. In fact, his company is expected to reveal in its annual report later this month that share repurchases topped a record $25 billion in 2021.

https://www.theepochtimes.com/the-great-awakening_4279087.html

The Great Awakening

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri—The half-circle of 13 chairs that framed the statue of President Harry Truman in the heart of the historic Independence Square this past fall was placed there in the days after 13 American soldiers were killed in the attack on the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, in late August.

The flags on either side of Truman flew at half-mast, with the chairs bearing the names of each service member lost in that attack. All hailed from small-town corners of our country. Their average age was 22. Eleven were Marines, one was a member of the Army, one a Navy medic.

Youth court students and volunteers in the community had placed the memorial there.

They weren’t alone. Memorials like this were placed in bars, front yards, and town squares all across the country. Some of them still stand.

The loss of these brave service members marked the beginning of an awakening. Many people stepped outside the comfort of their political beliefs and began to question everything coming out of the government.

Few national journalists noticed it at its inception because few national journalists leave their desks or disconnect from Twitter long enough to listen to people outside of their bubble. Had they listened, they would have heard the questions and the doubts.

The more President Joe Biden’s White House stubbornly and willfully refused to answer questions and insisted it had acted rightly, the more distrust in government grew.

The images of Biden walking away, his back to the press and metaphorically to the people, in the days and weeks after the pullout projected arrogance and negligence. When he repeated that exit, it only served to hasten the awakening.

Soon, the questions about Afghanistan became questions about how the government was handling the pandemic—in particular the mandates, masking, and the treatment of our children. Many people had been afraid to make their complaints public—they saw how lives and livelihoods could be destroyed if you questioned the motives of the government or teachers unions.

Across the political spectrum, people who had been struggling so hard to keep their businesses open and their children in school or who dared to question the usage of masks or the authority of the government were called racists, fascists, grandma-killers, insurrectionists, and white supremacists.

Never mind that most of them had done all of the right things. They stayed home at the beginning, washed their cardboard Amazon boxes before they opened them, refrained from hugging their parents and children and grandchildren, lost jobs, lost friends, lost family members, got boosted, and then saw their children flail emotionally and academically. They watched crime escalate in their cities and suburbs. They watched depression and suicide affect their loved ones and fentanyl flood their nice neighborhoods and communities. They watched their cities turn into ghost towns and their grocery and energy bills diminish their wealth.

No one in the press really picked up on this movement. They see everything as either Republican or Democratic. This awakening is not so easily characterized. It is an inside-outside movement reacting to a government that chose to play politics with the virus and continue a longstanding partisan battle.

This week, it finally became acceptable among the insider set to say that the pandemic is over. But this abrupt change is part of an apparently coordinated effort to save a political tribe; as such, it does not pass the smell test for most people.

It is now too late to save the insiders. People had moved away from elite insider opinion long before the insiders finally gave their permission to say the pandemic is over. Their insincerity is overwhelming. Something deep has changed for all the outsiders, and very few insiders ever saw it coming.

Falsified test results for US submarine steel land metallurgist in prison

The woman was convicted of fraud for altering test data for high-strength metal used in navy subs

An American metallurgist who fraudulently altered the results of strength tests on steel used to make US Navy submarine hulls has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison for what a federal judge called “a crime of pride and ego.”

US District Court Judge Benjamin Settle sentenced 67-year-old Elaine Thomas on Monday in Tacoma, Washington, noting that even after an exhaustive navy investigation, “we don’t know the full ramifications of this fraud.” Prosecutor Nick Brown said Thomas had betrayed the navy’s trust for 32 years, “knowingly placing its sailors and military operations at risk.”

Thomas, formerly a lab director for military steel supplier Bradken Inc., was accused of allowing inferior steel to be used on navy subs on half the orders she reviewed. She reportedly told investigators that she believed a test in which steel was cooled to minus 100 degrees Fahrenheit and struck with a pendulum was “stupid” because subs don’t operate in such temperatures. She allegedly falsified about 240 tests, altering failing scores to passing, over a period of more than three decades.

Test results for steel used in US Navy subs ‘falsified’ for decades

Settle called the case “baffling,” saying, “It seems this was a crime of pride and ego, that in some way she knew better than those who set the standards.”

A lawyer for the metallurgist argued that she’s “a good person who let a number of work pressures cause her to make bad decisions.” Those pressures included sexism in a male-dominated work environment, said the lawyer, John Carpenter. Thomas was reportedly the first woman to earn a metallurgy degree from Washington State University and won a prestigious industry award.

Her falsification of test results first came to light in 2017, and the navy incurred $14 million in costs to examine whether its submarine hulls were safe. Additional monitoring of the 30 hulls with steel tested by Thomas will be required indefinitely.

US Navy punishes sub that hit mountain in South China Sea

Bradken fired Thomas after discovering the false test results. It also notified investigators of testing discrepancies, but the defense contractor failed to immediately disclose that the falsified data stemmed from fraud. The company reached a civil settlement with the federal government, agreeing to pay $10.9 million.

Submarine steel is required to meet exacting standards to ensure that hulls hold up in extreme conditions and “wartime scenarios,” prosecutors said. Subs also face risks of collisions, such as when the USS 'Connecticut' struck an undersea mountain in the South China Sea last October, injuring 12 crew members. A similar incident occurred in 2005, killing one sailor and leaving most of the other 136 crew members injured.

Canada targets crypto donations to protestors after Trudeau invokes Emergencies Act to quell anti-government demonstrations

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act in response to Canadian trucker protestors.

The government also expanded anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing rules to include crowdfunding and crypto.

The move comes after Canadian truck protestors raised more than $1 million in bitcoin.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act on Monday in response to the truck drivers protesting pandemic mandates in Ottawa, and included in the response is more scrutiny into cryptocurrency donations and fundraising for protestors.

The move comes after the truckers, who have blocked bridges critical to international trade, raised more than $1 million in bitcoin before the organizers closed their fundraising page.

Under the Emergencies Act, the government can use its power to freeze or suspend bank accounts without a court order or liability, among other things.

This marks the first time a Canadian leader has invoked the rule since the law was passed in 1988. It allows for military intervention, but the prime minister said he has no plans to call in troops.

In addition, the government will also expand the reach of the country's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing rules to include cryptocurrency transactions and crowdfunding platforms.

Payment service providers and crowdfunding servers must now report transactions to the government by registering with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada

San Francisco's district attorney says city police have been entering sexual assault survivors' DNA into a database used to identify crime suspects

San Francisco's district attorney says the SFPD is improperly using sexual assault survivors' DNA.

Sexual assault survivors submit their own DNA as part of investigations to find perpetrators.

The DA's office says the DNA is being put in a database to catch suspects.

The San Francisco police crime lab has been entering DNA profiles from people who have submitted rape kits into a database used to identify crime suspects, the city's District Attorney Chesa Boudin said in a press release on Monday.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Boudin's office learned of the practice last week after a woman was linked to a recent property crime by DNA from a rape exam conducted years ago.

Boudin denounced the practice and said he's concerned it could prevent people from reporting sexual assaults to the police.

"Rapes and sexual assault are violent, dehumanizing, and traumatic. I am disturbed that victims who have the courage to undergo an invasive examination to help identify their perpetrators are being treated like criminals rather than supported as crime victims," Boudin said in the press release.

He called the practice "legally and ethically wrong" and said his office is demanding it end immediately.

—Chesa Boudin (@chesaboudin) February 14, 2022

The press release said sexual assault survivors submit their own DNA sample during an examination so it can be differentiated from a perpetrator's DNA that might be found on the victim's body.

"Sexual assault testing is an invasive and traumatic process for many sexual assault survivors. For this reason, many survivors are reluctant to undergo such a personally invasive process. Victims of sexual assault consent to their DNA collection for this purpose, not so that their DNA will be retained in a local law enforcement database permanently to be searched years later," the press release said.

Boudin told the Chronicle if a survivor's DNA is used in anything besides an investigation into their assault, it could be a violation of the state's Victims' Bill of Rights as well as the constitutional right not to be subjected to unreasonable search and seizure.

The district attorney also told the Chronicle his office is investigating the extent of the practice and if there are other instances where DNA submitted for a sexual assault exam was used to connect someone to a crime.

He said his office believes the database has thousands of DNA profiles collected over many years.

SFPD did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment, but Bill Scott, the city's chief of police, told the Chronicle: "We must never create disincentives for crime victims to cooperate with police, and if it's true that DNA collected from a rape or sexual assault victim has been used by SFPD to identify and apprehend that person as a suspect in another crime, I'm committed to ending the practice."

https://www.theverge.com/2022/2/15/22934628/intel-tower-semiconductor-acquisition-chips-third-party-foundry

Intel buys Tower Semiconductor for $5.4 billion so it can make more chips for other companies

Intel has announced that it’s buying Tower Semiconductor, an Israeli chipmaking company that focuses on specialty products like radio frequency (RF) chips, CMOS image sensors, and power management parts, for $5.4 billion.

The deal is specifically intended to bolster the company’s fledgling Intel Foundry Service division, which Intel created last year to apply its chipmaking techniques and manufacturing facilities to build chips for other third-party companies. Once the deal closes, the goal is that Tower and IFS will be integrated together as a “fully integrated foundry business.”

Intel has made no bones about its plans to rapidly ramp up production capabilities, with recent news of a $20 billion investment to expand its existing Arizona manufacturing facilities, along with a second $20 billion bet to build an entirely new complex in Ohio that it claims will be the “largest silicon manufacturing location on the planet.”

Intel Foundry Services was originally announced back in March 2021 as part of Intel’s IDM 2.0 strategy, which was debuted by its newly installed CEO Pat Gelsinger as an attempt to right the ship at Intel and re-establish the company as a major force in the chipmaking world. IFS has already announced several major partnerships: it’ll start building chips for Qualcomm using Intel’s upcoming 20A process, while Amazon Web Services will be relying on Intel’s packaging technologies.

The Tower Semiconductor deal will allow for Intel to further expand IFS’s offerings to new and more specialized products, which, in turn, will allow the eventually combined group to offer a more comprehensive chipmaking solution to companies down the line. The addition of Tower Semiconductor also will help expand Intel’s manufacturing network, with Tower’s collection of fabs (located in Israel, California, Texas, and Japan) and the more specialized products they offer joining Intel’s existing manufacturing sites.

“We are building Intel Foundry Services to be a customer-first technology innovator with the broadest range of IP, services and capacity,” commented Dr. Randhir Thakur, president of Intel Foundry Services, in the announcement. “Tower and IFS together will provide a broad portfolio of foundry solutions at global scale to enable our customers’ ambitions.”

Seattle’s Transit System ‘Unusable’ due to Meth Smoke

Seattle’s Transit System ‘Unusable’ due to Toxic Fentanyl, Meth Smoke

https://saraacarter.com/seattles-transit-system-unusable-due-to-toxic-fentanyl-meth-smoke/

Liberal and progressive city Seattle is literally becoming toxic. Rampant with crime and drugs, it has become impossible for the average citizen to ignore. The Seattle Times reported Monday that local authorities have stated its transit system has become “unusable.”

The Times reported the transit system has become overloaded with reports of toxic fentanyl, meth smoke and volatile behavior. It has created a toxic work environment for employees and has scared off travelers.

In an attempt to turn things around, the city plans to release a new “Safety, Security and Fare Enforcement Initiative” in February. The initiative incorporates surveys and comments from 8,000 people.

The Times reports that plan hopes to improve the dangerous environment, welcome back commuters, but also show compassion to those who are doing drugs, and especially homeless people, as “a necessary step on its journey to becoming an anti-racist mobility agency” according to the King County website.

Complaints of smoke from narcotics use such as meth and fentanyl surged last summer, surpassing complaints about individuals using needles and smoking marijuana. The unarmed security monitors for the metro have zero authority to arrest or remove individuals from public transportation.

The Metro Transit Authority (MTA) has also shied away from using law enforcement against the homeless population after the death of George Floyd, which led to nationwide protests, some of the most violent and destructive of which occurred in Seattle.

Seattle Police Detective Patrick Michaud told the Seattle Times that police officers in the city do not regularly patrol the transit system, and illegal drug use is considered a “lower priority than violent crime.”

Transit operator Erik Christensen has reported six incidents of fentanyl, meth or heroin smokers snice just October. “We just want them off the bus. Just get them off the bus, so we can drive” said Christensen.

In Denver, drug use at the downtown train station was deemed “a lawless hellhole” in December due to the amount of public drug use. The Seattle Times reports “a television newscast aired a worker’s video of defiant users. Police made arrests, and the transit agency closed restrooms after finding traces of fentanyl” in Denver’s Union Station.

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. intelligence officials on Tuesday accused a conservative financial news website with a significant American readership of amplifying Kremlin propaganda and alleged five media outlets targeting Ukrainians have taken direction from Russian spies.

The officials said Zero Hedge, which has 1.2 million Twitter followers, published articles created by Moscow-controlled media that were then shared by outlets and people unaware of their nexus to Russian intelligence. The officials did not say whether they thought Zero Hedge knew of any links to spy agencies and did not allege direct links between the website and Russia.

Zero Hedge denied the claims and said it tries to “publish a wide spectrum of views that cover both sides of a given story.” In a response posted online Tuesday morning, the website said it has “has never worked, collaborated or cooperated with Russia, nor are there any links to spy agencies.”

The officials briefed The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence sources. It was the latest effort by President Joe Biden’s administration to release U.S. intelligence findings about Russian activity involving Ukraine as part of a concerted push to expose and influence the moves of Russian President Vladimir Putin. U.S. officials previously accused Putin of planning a “false-flag” operation to create a pretext for a new invasion of Ukraine and detailed what they believe are final-stage Russian preparations for an assault.

Ottawa Police Chief resigns amid Freedom Convoy pressure – media

Peter Sloly has been under fire over the force’s apparent inability to dislodge trucker-led protests

Ottawa Police chief Peter Sloly has resigned amid criticism of the force’s handling of the ongoing Freedom Convoy trucker-led protest against federal Covid-19 vaccination mandates in the Canadian capital, local media said on Tuesday. He is expected to formally announce his resignation following a police board meeting on Tuesday, CBC news reported.

Ottawa City Councillor Riley Brockington tweeted about the surprise resignation, which comes a week after Sloly said he had no plans to step down despite mounting pressure from both the federal and local governments to evict the protesters. According to CTV news, Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson had given Sloly a vote of confidence on Monday, agreeing with the chief’s request for more resources from the provincial and federal governments.

The outlet reported that the city’s residents have grown increasingly angry with the police response to the protests, which have dominated the downtown area of the capital.

Ottawa under ‘siege’ amid nationwide ‘insurrection’ – authorities

Over the past week, Sloly has repeatedly asked for reinforcements, requesting an additional 1,800 police personnel to end the protest, CTV news reported. It added that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau did not “accept the contention that the city of Ottawa has exhausted its tools and resources.” The force’s inability to dislodge protesters is thought to have contributed to the Trudeau government’s approval of invoking emergency powers on Monday.

Meanwhile, multiple unnamed sources told CBC that relations were strained between Sloly and senior members of the force, as well as officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) deployed to bolster local law enforcement during the crisiis.

In recent weeks, at least three incident response commanders were reassigned after working with him, the public broadcaster reported. One of these commanders told CBC that Sloly had no rationale for his decisions, adding that the apparent failings would “all come out in a review.”

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/feb/15/sandy-hook-families-settlement-gun-manufacturer-remington

Sandy Hook families reach $73m settlement with gun manufacturer

A gunmaker has been held liable for a mass shooting in the United States for the first time after Remington Arms agreed to pay $73m to the families of five adults and four children killed in the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre.

Twenty students and six adults were killed on 14 December 2012 in Newtown, Connecticut, by Adam Lanza, who used a Remington Bushmaster AR-15 rifle to shoot his way into the school after killing his mother at home.

Remington Arms will pay $73m to the families and release all the discovery and deposition material to the public, attorneys for the families said on Tuesday. The settlement will be paid through insurance policies.

The nine families sued in 2014 and spent years in the courts trying to hold Remington liable, despite a US law that protects firearm manufacturers and dealers from most civil litigation.

In 2019 the supreme court decided against taking up an appeal by Remington, allowing the lawsuit to move forward.

Last summer, Remington proposed a settlement worth approximately $33m to the families, who refused “because they wanted to ensure they had obtained enough documents and taken enough depositions to prove Remington’s misconduct” and to “ensure the case’s message to the insurance industry was clear”, attorneys said in a statement on Tuesday.

The families have “obtained and can make public thousands of pages of internal company documents that prove Remington’s wrongdoing and carry important lessons for helping to prevent future mass shootings”, the statement said.

“They had the energy, drive and motivation to do one thing,” said Josh Koskoff, an attorney for the families. “That was to do whatever they could so that other families … would not have to go through the pain and loss that they have.”

He added: “This victory should serve as a wake-up call not only to the gun industry, but also the insurance and banking companies that prop it up.”

The Sandy Hook families found a way around the legal protection for gunmakers by claiming that Remington’s marketing of firearms contributed to the massacre.

Attorneys argued that Remington violated Connecticut’s state trade law by irresponsibly targeting its AR-15 Bushmaster rifle at young, high-risk males through militaristic marketing campaigns and first-person shooter video games.

Despite the settlement, the parents of six-year-old Noah Pozner, who was killed in the shooting, said they do not completely feel that justice has been served.

Lenny Pozner and Veronique De La Rosa said their loss is “irreversible, and in that sense, this outcome is neither redemptive nor restorative”, according to CNN.

“One moment we had this dazzling, energetic six-year-old little boy, and the next all we had left, were echoes of the past, photographs of a lost boy who will never grow older, calendars marking a horrifying new anniversary, a lonely grave, and pieces of Noah’s life stored in a backpack and boxes.

“What is lost remains forever. However, the resolution does provide a measure of accountability in an industry that has thus far operated with impunity. For this we are grateful,” they said.

Other gun control advocates have since been encouraged to follow the Sandy Hook families’ strategy of looking at gunmaker’s marketing techniques, including New Jersey’s attorney general, who is investigating marketing by Smith & Wesson.

Mexico also filed a US lawsuit last year seeking $10bn from several gunmakers, accusing them of marketing their weapons to the country’s underworld.

New York last year enacted a law that allows firearm sellers, manufacturers and distributors to be sued for creating a “public nuisance” that endangers the public’s safety and health. Gun manufacturers have challenged the law in court.

Gun groups have also been using the courts and state legislatures to expand gun rights, and scored victories at the supreme court in 2008 and 2010 that solidified an individual’s right to keep a gun at home for self-defense.

Ukraine's armed forces' website showed an error message after a cyberattack officials said could have had Russian origins - AFP

Kyiv (AFP) – Ukraine said on Tuesday that the websites of the country's defence ministry and armed forces as well as two state banks had been hit by a cyberattack of possibly Russian origin.

The announcement from Ukraine's communications watchdog comes with the former Soviet republic fearing a possible invasion from Russian forces conducting massive military drills at its frontiers.

The affected sites included the Oschadbank state savings bank and Privat – two of the country's largest financial institutions.

Both resumed service later on Tuesday but the military sites remained inaccessible hours after the initial reports of the attack emerged.

The defence ministry site showed an error message saying it was "undergoing technical maintenance".

The armed forces website showed a message saying it could not be reached.

"It cannot be excluded that the aggressor is resorting to dirty tricks," the watchdog said in reference to Russia.

Tuesday's cyberattack came one month after another strike briefly took down key government websites.

NATO responded within hours of the January attack by announcing a cyber warfare cooperation deal with Kyiv. The European Union also said it was mobilising "all its resources" to help Ukraine at the time.

The deals were designed to help protect Ukraine from Russian state actors and private proxies committing cyber crimes on the Kremlin's behalf.

Kyiv said the damage in January had been limited and held back on apportioning blame.

Tuesday's attack came the same day that Russia announced it was pulling back some of the troops deployed on Ukraine's borders in Moscow's standoff with the West over NATO's presence in eastern Europe.

Russia Claims Ukraine Standoff Is Over

The Russian government claimed on Tuesday that several military units have completed “scheduled drills” along border with Ukraine and will now return to their permanent bases, bringing their armor and artillery with them.

Russian officials taunted the Biden administration by claiming the redeployment “humiliated” Western war hysterics, while Ukrainian and NATO military officials said they did not see any immediate sign of Russian forces actually pulling back from the border.

Russia’s state-run Tass news agency quoted Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov’s claim that Russian troops were packing their gear and preparing to depart on Wednesday morning.

“As combat training measures are coming to a close, the troops, as is always the case, will conduct combined marches to their permanent garrisons. Units of the Southern and Western Military Districts that have accomplished their tasks have already begun loading personnel and equipment on railway and auto transport means and will today begin heading to their military garrisons,” Konashenkov stated.

The Defense Ministry statement implied that withdrawal could take some time because some of the units would be marching home on foot, in column formations, as part of their training.

Russia’s Southern Military District made a similar announcement on Tuesday that its troops were loading their “heavy tracked armor, such as tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and self-propelled artillery guns” onto trains and preparing to return from Crimea to bases in Dagestan and North Ossetia.

“The units of the Southern Military District that have completed accomplishing their tasks as part of scheduled tactical exercises at combined arms practice ranges on the Crimean Peninsula have begun returning to their permanent bases. The personnel of battalion tactical groups have conducted marches to the areas of railway stations where operations to load combat equipment on special platforms have been organized,” the district command stated.

The Ministry of Defense said some troops and naval units are still “training” in the neighborhood of Ukraine, and would begin a fresh round of drills on Tuesday.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Western powers had been “humiliated and destroyed without a single shot fired” because their warnings of an imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine were ostensibly rendered foolish by the withdrawal announcement.

“15 February, 2022, will go down in history as the day Western war propaganda failed,” Zakharova declared.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday said the alleged conclusion of scheduled drills along the Ukrainian border countered “information terrorism” emanating from the United States and Europe.

“As for drills that Russia conducts on its own territory and in accordance with its own plans – let me specially emphasize that again – they begin, are implemented and concluded as planned. We have repeatedly stated that,” Lavrov said after meeting with Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau in Moscow.

“And this refers to the drills in the country’s west, similar measures in the Far East or the joint Russian-Belarusian drills that are also developing and proceeding in strict compliance with the approved schedule,” Lavrov continued.

“This is done irrespective of who thinks what, who and how is hysterical about this, who and how unleashes this genuine information terrorism and I am not afraid to use this word. The caravan keeps going,” he said.

The backlash comes after new allegations by special counsel John Durham in the inquiry into the origins of the Russia investigation gjzg support the former president's suspicions.

In the October 2020 interview, Trump declared that "the biggest scandal was when they spied on my campaign."

"There is no real evidence of that," Stahl responded.

"Of course there is. It's all over the place," Trump said as Stahl quickly shot back with a defiant "No."

The back and forth continued until Stahl reiterated once more that she disapproved of Trump's comments and "didn't know" if what he said was true.

"Then they went much further than that, and they got caught. And you will see that, Lesley, and you know that, but you just don't want-," Trump said before Stahl interjected.

"No," she said. "As a matter of fact, I don't know that."

"Lesley Stahl should apologize to Donald Trump," Trump's son Eric Trump said Sunday on Twitter.

"Her first response is 'there's no real evidence of that.' Incredible. I say all the time: Trump's greatest accomplishment is not any particular policy, but revealing the corruption at the heart of our institutions," said J.D. Vance, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Ohio.

"Ask yourself what else we're told today there's 'no evidence' for," a follow-up tweet read.

"Lesley Stahl tends to be surprised when her liberal contempt ruins her curiosity. She confessed in her memoir that she assumed [Ronald] Reagan was an uninvolved actor in his presidency. Then she saw all his paperwork," NewsBusters executive editor Tim Graham tweeted on Sunday.

US-Peru human trafficking operation leads to the recovery of 4 sex trafficking victims

LIMA, Peru – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Peruvian National Police (PNP) Human Trafficking Investigations Division conducted a human trafficking operation that led to the identification of four sex tracking victims and the arrest of the three individuals in the town of La Pampa, Madre de Dios, Peru.

“Human trafficking is a heinous crime that victimizes millions of innocent people around the world,” said HSI Lima Assistant Attaché Paul Salamon. “This successful operation shows the importance of international collaboration when it comes to disrupting criminal organizations. Our hope is that more victims come forward so that we can help remove them from harm’s way and put the perpetrators behind bars.”

On Feb. 5, the HSI office in Lima was informed by the PNP of a mother that filed a police report about an alleged trafficking event involving her daughter in the city of La Pampa, Madre de Dios, Peru. HSI responded and assisted PNP in interviewing the mother. The following day, the victim escaped and traveled to the city of Puerto Maldonado, where the she was later interviewed by HSI, PNP, and a Peruvian prosecutor. The victim provided additional information about other potential victims. Later that day, a second victim arrived at the prosecutor’s office after she learned that PNP and HSI were present and assisting.

On Feb. 7, PNP and the Peruvian Prosecutor’s Office, with participation from HSI, launched an operation leading to the rescue of two additional victims, as well as the arrest of Monica Baca Munoz, Guicela Baca Munoz and a third individual. Two of the individuals were arrested for Trafficking in Persons/Sexual Exploitation under Peruvian law.

If I have this right the c_a spooks are crapping their pants right now because they just lost their leverage over Iran. They have literally lost Iran, which also means Millitary Intelligence has disrupted the flow of c_a money from Iran to North Korea as well. Not sure how you get more info from sanctions and military action(s). Perhaps as the spooks scramble to find ways to move funds to NK they further expose themselves. Making themselves more vulnerable.

So now FAKE NEWS is going to full out attack. But I believe this is coordinated by Military Intelligence as disinfo and distraction are necessary. The seemingly biggest threat in the news right now is the invasion of Russia into the Ukraine. So perhaps Military Intelligence is going to pump up the tires on that until they are about to burst to drown out anything the c_a clowns are going to try to put out in their media.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/allison-gollust-woman-relationship-ex-cnn-chief-jeff-zucker-also-resig-rcna16408

Allison Gollust Resigns From CNN Following WarnerMedia Probe of Cuomo, Zucker

Allison Gollust, the chief marketing officer at CNN, has resigned from the network following corporate parent WarnerMedia’s investigation into “issues associated with Chris Cuomo and former Governor Andrew Cuomo,” according to a memo from Jason Kilar, the company’s CEO.

“Performed by a third-party law firm and led by a former federal judge, the investigation was comprehensive and definitive. It was commissioned in September and concluded this weekend, which now allows me to share additional information with you,” Kilar said. “Based on interviews of more than 40 individuals and a review of over 100,000 texts and emails, the investigation found violations of Company policies, including CNN’s News Standards and Practices, by Jeff Zucker, Allison Gollust, and Chris Cuomo.”

He added: “I realize this news is troubling, disappointing, and frankly, painful to read. These are valid feelings many of you have.”

In a statement, Gollust alleged WarnerMedia was trying to undermine her in public. “WarnerMedia’s statement tonight is an attempt to retaliate against me and change the media narrative in the wake of their disastrous handling of the last two weeks. It is deeply disappointing that after spending the past nine years defending and upholding CNN’s highest standards of journalistic integrity, I would be treated this way as I leave,” she said Tuesday evening. “But I do so with my head held high, knowing that I gave my heart and soul to working with the finest journalists in the world.”

Revelation of the details of the investigation comes just days after Zucker, formerly CNN’s president, resigned abruptly, citing an undisclosed relationship with Gollust, a longtime lieutenant who also worked with him at NBCUniversal. And it adds a new element to life inside CNN, where many top anchors and correspondents have come to Zucker’s defense, citing his support for them during a roiling nine-year tenure that cast the network in a more aggressive light.

Gollust has been an integral part of that era. She was heavily involved in the promotion of the network, which veered away at times from its centrist leanings, underscored by actor James Earl Jones intoning “This is CNN” in well-worn promos. Under Gollust, CNN adopted the mantra “Go there,” and it did indeed, The network, while not outwardly tilting partisan, lost favor in some Republican circles as it burnished its journalistic bona fides and relied on new promos that pledged to follow “Facts first” as a White House controlled by President Donald Trump often confused the national narrative with gaffes and outright misdirection. Gollust was so entwined with top CNN operations that, in some circles, she was thought to be a potential successor to Zucker.

The WarnerMedia investigation has derailed all that. When Zucker stepped down, he cited an investigation into fired anchor Chris Cuomo that revealed the CNN chief had not disclosed a consensual relationship with a colleague. And in doing so, he also revealed that Cuomo, a popular anchor who once commanded the 9 p.m. slot, was under scrutiny after being fired by Zucker last year. According to people familiar with the matter, Cuomo has been trying to get a severance payment, and has hired Bryan Freedman, a California entertainment attorney who previously represented Megyn Kelly in her exit discussions with NBCUniversal. There have been allegations raised in that process that Zucker and Gollust offered advice to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, brother of the anchor, in discussions about having him appear on CNN.

Indeed, had CNN never allowed Chris Cuomo and Andrew Cuomo to come together on the former’s program at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, much of the current debacle might never have happened. Under Zucker, CNN waived rules preventing a journalist from covering family members and featured the former governor on his brother’s program on several nights. Later, when Andrew Cuomo was accused of sexual harassment by multiple women — claims he denied but that led him to vacate his gubernatorial seat — the ethical lapse became hard to defend. And it became even more difficult to do so after the Washington Post reported that the younger Cuomo had been lending help to his brother’s staff as he sought to push back on those claims.

The findings in the probe create new drama at an operation in the midst of several critical business initiatives CNN is said to be weeks away from the launch of a new subscription-based streaming service, CNN Plus, and has recruited top journalists and personalities in the process. Audie Cornish. Chris Wallace, Kasie Hunt, Eva Longoria, Jemele Hill and Cari Champion are among new anchors and hosts who have come on board in recent weeks, while CNN anchors and correspondents like Don Lemon, Poppy Harlow and Wolf Blitzer have been given new assignments for the broadband outlet.

WarnerMedia is slated to be spun off by its current owner, AT&T, and to be acquired by Discovery, a media company that specializes in non-fiction programming where executives may seek to take CNN on a different path than its former chief. One thing is clear: With Zucker out and Gollust departing, CNN is starting a new chapter in a story that has been ongoing since 1980, when its entrepreneur founder, Ted Turner, could only dream of how many people might be sparring over his creation.

help with decoding QDrops

I am not sure how many anons know this information so I am going to post it. As you are well aware everything has double meanings.

If you see Wh in a QDrop it always refers to Military Intelligence. Examples of this would be Who, What, When, Where and Why as they all start with Wh.

How you get there is by first converting the words to ascii. This is simple and you can use the following website.

https://www.madeintext.com/text-to-ascii/

Here are examples

Who = 87 104 111

What = 87 104 97 116

When = 87 104 101 110

Where = 87 104 1011 14 101

Why = 87 104 121

As you can see they always start with drops 87 and 104.

From QDrop 87

>My signatures all reference upcoming events about to drop if this hasn't been caught on.

>Snow White

>Godfather III

  • Snow White is the Great Awakening. The Prince kisses Snow White and she wakes up. Military Intelligence is behind Q who is waking up the world.

  • Godfather III refers to cleaning out the corruption of the Vatican. Which is what Military Intelligence is trying to do on a global scale.

  • Snow White and Godfather III are both signatures, so they are good to pay attention to when trying to decode.

Who, What, When, Where and Why are all a little difference but for ease of reading just think Military Intelligence.

Here is a partial decode of QDrop 48 that I have been working on to demonstrate

QDrop #48

>What is Q Clearance?

Military Intelligence who is removing the cabal and waking up the world is Q clearance.

>What hint does that explicitly refer to?

Military intelligence’s plan to free the world of the cabal from the inside of it, destroying the cabal in the process.

>DOE?

Doe is an adult female deer. The satan worshiping cabal uses the image of a buck deer covered in gold to represent themselves. Actors who are Military Intelligence who are working from the inside of the cabal to tear it down are does.

>Who would have the goods on U1?

Military Intelligence would have the goods on Uranium One.

>Does stating 'Q' refer that person works in DOE?

The root of stating is state. A condition of being in a stage or form, as of structure, growth, or development. Does (plural of doe, MI actors) stating (forming/structuring/staging) ‘Q’ refer that (to the plan) person (actors, stagers, formers) works in (inside) DOE(cabal organization).

To clear up the above which is a bit clunky. Does are Military Intelligence actors who are fighting against the cabal. Not all of them are working inside the cabal as double agents. Military Intelligence actors staging/forming/structuring ‘Q’ are not necessarily working from the inside the cabal.

>No.

No is the answer to the above. But we also know double and multiple meanings exist. Distraction and disinformation are necessary. Military Intelligence has actors who play evil roles in the movie script. It is necessary to “the plan”.

forgot QDrop #104

>Now is the time to pray.

>We're operational.

>God bless the United States of America.

These are more signatures that I have not decoded yet. I imagine if you search them you will find multiple drops with the same lines. But what I get out of this is that Military Intelligence was and has been actively rooting out the cabal and waking the world up, in reference to the plan "Snow White" & "God Father III", since these drops were given to us in 2017.

Good Morning all anons and helper anons. I discovered something else about the February count up/down clock. The numbers correspond to the second chapter of the Gospel of Mark.

>2220 02:01 2022 [1] And again he entered into Capharnaum after some days.

>2220 02:02 2022 [2] And it was heard that he was in the house, and many came together, so that there was no room; no, not even at the door; and he spoke to them the word.

>2220 02:03 2022 [3] And they came to him, bringing one sick of the palsy, who was carried by four.

>2220 02:04 2022 [4] And when they could not offer him unto him for the multitude, they uncovered the roof where he was; and opening it, they let down the bed wherein the man sick of the palsy lay.

>2220 02:05 2022 [5] And when Jesus had seen their faith, he saith to the sick of the palsy: Son, thy sins are forgiven thee.

>2220 02:06 2022 [6] And there were some of the scribes sitting there, and thinking in their hearts:

>2220 02:07 2022 [7] Why doth this man speak thus? he blasphemeth. Who can forgive sins, but God only?

>2220 02:08 2022 [8] Which Jesus presently knowing in his spirit, that they so thought within themselves, saith to them: Why think you these things in your hearts?

>2220 02:09 2022 [9] Which is easier, to say to the sick of the palsy: Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say: Arise, take up thy bed, and walk?

>2220 02:10 2022 [10] But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

>2220 02:11 2022 [11] I say to thee: Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house.

>2220 02:12 2022 [12] And immediately he arose; and taking up his bed, went his way in the sight of all; so that all wondered and glorified God, saying: We never saw the like.

>2220 02:13 2022 [13] And he went forth again to the sea side; and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them.

>2220 02:14 2022 [14] And when he was passing by, he saw Levi the son of Alpheus sitting at the receipt of custom; and he saith to him: Follow me. And rising up, he followed him.

>2220 02:15 2022 [15] And it came to pass, that as he sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat down together with Jesus and his disciples. For they were many, who also followed him.

>2220 02:16 2022 [16] And the scribes and the Pharisees, seeing that he ate with publicans and sinners, said to his disciples: Why doth your master eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

>2220 02:17 2022 [17] Jesus hearing this, saith to them: They that are well have no need of a physician, but they that are sick. For I came not to call the just, but sinners.

>2220 02:18 2022 [18] And the disciples of John and the Pharisees used to fast; and they come and say to him: Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast; but thy disciples do not fast?

>2220 02:19 2022 [19] And Jesus saith to them: Can the children of the marriage fast, as long as the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

>2220 02:20 2022 [20] But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them; and then they shall fast in those days.

>2220 02:21 2022 [21] No man seweth a piece of raw cloth to an old garment: otherwise the new piecing taketh away from the old, and there is made a greater rent.

>2220 02:22 2022 [22] And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: otherwise the wine will burst the bottles, and both the wine will be spilled, and the bottles will be lost. But new wine must be put into new bottles.

>2220 02:23 2022 [23] And it came to pass again, as the Lord walked through the corn fields on the sabbath, that his disciples began to go forward, and to pluck the ears of corn.

>2220 02:24 2022 [24] And the Pharisees said to him: Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?

>2220 02:25 2022 [25] And he said to them: Have you never read what David did when he had need, and was hungry himself, and they that were with him?

>2220 02:26 2022 [26] How he went into the house of God, under Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the loaves of proposition, which was not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave to them who were with him?

>2220 02:27 2022 [27] And he said to them: The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.

>2220 02:28 2022 [28] Therefore the Son of man is Lord of the sabbath also.

Now here is another interesting thing. I looked at the second chapter of the book of Revelation. It has 29 verses. According to the drops the healing will not happen until February 29th 2024. So a Revelation clock will be happening in February of 2024. So if I am correct, the information regarding the Great Awakening isn't going to be released all at once. It's going to be slowly released over the course of the next two years. Possibly finishing February 29 2024. It is just a theory but something to keep in mind. It's code for "The second chapter(phase) of Revelation(revealing the Truth) will be done then. I believe there are 4 phases.

Also know that this is the gospel of Mark. So this might be the last "Mark" / "Marker" of phase one. The Bible appears to be a key to understanding Q.

Last night on Gutfeld. Tyrus said something I agree with, he pops off some really profound stuff sometimes. He said some things about racism, MLK and the Truckers that was spot on. But this isn't about that.

It's Durham.

All this focus is on EOTP not covering Durhams motion last week.

OK don't. Stop.

Let the light shine on inflation, gas prices and Brandon's failed WH.

Durhams not going anywhere.

There will be indictments the EOTP can't ignore. Let this one slide a little bit for now and let the focus be on how Brandon is destroying America.

In essence, Durham is a distraction [not ultimately] but right now.

Let hte false flags commence.

Ukraine cyberattack: Russia blamed for ‘largest’ disruption of its kind in country’s history

Ukrainian officials investigating Tuesday’s cyberattacks that brought down websites belonging to its Ministry of Defense, army and popular banks are now calling the incident the "largest" of its kind in the history of the country – and suspect Russia is the culprit.

The distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks come as U.S. and NATO continue to cast doubt on Russian claims that some of its 150,000 troops amassed along its border with Ukraine are heading back to their permanent bases.

"Russia has engaged in cyberattacks and electronic warfare in terms of a precursor to physical and kinetic activity," Frank Cilluffo, the director of the McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security at Auburn University, told Fox News Digital on Wednesday, citing past cyberattacks in Georgia and Ukraine’s Crimea region.

CHINA SAYS US IS ‘PLAYING UP’ RUSSIA THREAT TO UKRAINE

"A DDoS attack can be pretty effective if utilized in support of other means. It’s not about the attack itself, but if you are able to disrupt communications of some sort, and then you have ulterior motives, then clearly it can be effective," he added. "And Russia did do this to Estonia in the past, massive DDoS attacks on the banking sector and the Estonian government."

Tuesday’s cyberattacks targeted at least 10 Ukrainian websites and customers at the state-owned Privatbank and Sberbank reported issues with online payments and the banks’ apps, according to the Associated Press.

"Yesterday, on February 15, the largest DDoS attack in the history of Ukraine was carried out on government websites, on the banking sector," Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov was quoted by Reuters as saying.

"This attack is unprecedented, it was prepared in advance," he reportedly continued, mentioning how the attacks – designed to flood websites with traffic and shut them down – involved IP addresses from Russia, China, Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic. "And the key goal of this attack is destabilization, it is to sow panic, to do everything so that a certain chaos appears in our country."

llya Vityuk, who leads the cybersecurity department of Ukraine’s state security service said Wednesday that "the only country that is interested in such… attacks on our state, especially against the backdrop of massive panic about a possible military invasion, the only country that is interested is the Russian Federation," Reuters also reported.

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/badgered-her-sex-chris-cuomo-alleged-sexual-assault-factored-firing

"Badgered Her For Sex": Chris Cuomo Alleged Sexual Assault Factored Into Firing

While Chris Cuomo's ouster from CNN was originally pinned on unethical interactions with his brother - the embattled former Governor of NY, the disgraced anchor was fired in part over a resurfaced allegation that he sexually assaulted a young female staffer when he worked at ABC News in 2011, according to the New York Times.

24 hours after Cuomo was suspended for helping his brother fight sexual harassment charges, a letter arrived at CNN from an attorney representing a woman who had worked with Cuomo over a decade ago. She said claimed Cuomo sexually assaulted her - and then tried to silence her during the #MeToo movement by arranging a flattering CNN segment about her employer at the time.

The day after the letter was sent, Cuomo was fired by CNN boss Jeff Zucker - which Cuomo insists was done without due process.

The letter described it as an “abuse of power at CNN to attempt to silence my client.”

While a spokesman for Mr. Cuomo denied the allegations in the letter, it set in motion a chain of events that would quickly upend one of the world’s most powerful news networks.

By week’s end, Mr. Zucker had fired Mr. Cuomo, telling him that a drumbeat of scandals had become “too much for us.” -NYT

According to Cuomo's accuser, she was invited to lunch in his office one day in 2011 to discuss career advice. When she arrived, there was no food - and Cuomo instead badgered her for sex.

After she declined, he assaulted her and she ran out of the room.

The Times interviewed five of the woman's friends and former colleagues who say she told them about the unwelcome sexual requests - but the accuser has acknowledged that only in the past year did she begin to tell people about the assault "because it was private and painful."

Then, during the height of the #MeToo movement "after TV personalities like Charlie Rose and Matt Lauer were felled by misconduct allegations," Cuomo reached out to the woman "seemingly out of the blue" to propose airing a CNN segment about the company where she worked doing public relations - which CNN ran despite her attempt to avoid any contact with her alleged abuser.

"After years without any substantive communication from Mr. Cuomo whatsoever, Ms. Doe suspected he was concerned about her coming forward publicly with her allegations and wanted to use the proposed segment as an opportunity to ‘test the waters’ and discourage her from going on the record about his sexual misconduct," wrote attorney Debra S. Katz, a prominent sexual harassment lawyer.

The Times reviewed Mr. Cuomo’s messages to the woman and the segment and spoke with her boss at the time. Her boss said that after the segment aired, the woman shared some of the details of the encounter and Mr. Cuomo’s subsequent outreach.

Ms. Katz said the woman, who has been “deeply traumatized,” doesn’t want to become “a pawn in an internecine war between Zucker, Chris Cuomo and CNN” and won’t be saying anything further. She “deserves and requests privacy,” Ms. Katz said. -NYT

Cuomo spokesman Steven Goldberg said the allegations in Katz's letter "are false. He was never asked about the allegations prior to being terminated or given an opportunity to respond."

The day after his ouster, Cuomo hired Hollywood lawyer Bryan Freedman - who's known for his tough negotiating tactics and securing multimillion-dollar settlements for TV stars. Freedman sent a demand letter to the network requiring them to preserve all documents related to any dealings between any CNN employees and anyone in the governor's office - implying that Cuomo's defense would revolve around other network executives acting similarly in their communications with the governor.

Zucker spokeswoman Risa Heller said the now-fired CEO only spoke to the governor about appearing on the network, adding "He never gave Andrew Cuomo advice."

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/gopers-see-sign-midterm-red-wave-sf-school-board-recall-ignored-parents

Republicans see signs of midterm 'red wave' in SF school board recall: 'They've ignored parents'

Several prominent Republican lawmakers and conservative voices say they see the recent recall election in San Francisco as a precursor to massive GOP gains in Congress.

House Education and Labor Committee ranking member Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., told Fox News Digital Wednesday that there is "a lot of blood in the political waters, and Democrats are no longer running for the hills – they’re sprinting."

"You don’t need to try and read the tea leaves to know what’s happening across the country; it’s abundantly clear to everyone," Foxx said. "Democrats are in trouble politically because they’ve ignored parents. The San Francisco school board recall election is another loss for Democrats. And it certainly won’t be the only one we hear about in the coming days, weeks and months.

"A red wave is coming, and it will be the coup de grace to the entire Democrat agenda," Foxx added.

"Republicans are committed to standing up for parents and students," House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik of New York told Fox News Digital Wednesday. "This is a winning message that resonates with families across the country, even in far left San Francisco.

"The recall of three members of the San Francisco school board, who have put their radical leftist priorities over prioritizing students, should serve as a warning that families have had enough of far left control over classrooms."

Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., told Fox News Digital in an email statement that the recall election is the latest instance of parents pushing back on the progressive left.

"From Northeast Indiana to Nancy Pelosi's backyard in San Francisco, we are seeing parents across the nation reject the radical left's support of school closures and wokeness in the classroom," Banks, a House Education and Labor Committee member alongside Stefanik, said on Wednesday.

"This should be a major wake-up call for Democrats, but it won't be," Banks added. "Just as I wrote in a memo to my colleagues following Glenn Youngkin's impressive victory last fall, Republicans have an obligation to step up and be a voice of reason for frustrated parents of all political backgrounds."

Banks released a memo last year, addressing the GOP’s opportunity to lean into the culture wars amid conversations about critical race theory.

"Lean into the culture war. Because the backlash against critical race theory is real," Banks wrote. "We are beginning to see an organic movement from parents across the country in places like Loudon County, Virginia; Pelham, New York; South Lake, Texas; and Bloomington, Illinois, who are fed up with the lessons their kids are being taught. As House conservatives, we should be sending a signal to these concerned parents: We have your back."

Rep. Julia Letlow, R-La., Foxx's fellow member of the House Education and Labor Committee, told Fox News Digital that everywhere "from Virginia to San Francisco, parents have clearly sent the message that they want a seat at the table when it comes to their child’s education.

"As Republicans, we’re fighting to ensure that families are never pushed out of the learning process, because at the end of the day, these are our children, not the government’s," Letlow added.

"Far left school boards are robbing America’s children of a quality education," Tennessee Republican Rep. Tim Burchett told Fox News Digital. "Woke hysteria in schools in San Francisco and across the country needs to end. It’s time parents take back their schools."

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., who also sits on the House Education and Labor Committee, told Fox News Digital that "fed-up parents kicked off the 2022 election cycle" in San Francisco "by firing school board members who prioritized school closures, teachers’ unions, and their own political agendas over educating children."

"I expect voters nationwide to make a similar judgment in November against politicians who have fought to keep schools closed and children masked," Comer continued.

Republican political organizations also weighed in on the red wave rumblings following the San Francisco recall election with Republican National Committee (RNC) spokesman Nathan Brand saying from "Virginia to San Francisco, parents are making their voices heard."

"Democrats are losing as they put special interests, woke garbage, school closures and forced masking ahead of students," Brand continued. "Republicans know parents’ voices matter in their children’s education."

"Last night’s decisive results in the San Francisco school board election prove that Asian American families reject the radical Democrat agenda of school closures, forced masking and renaming schools to appease woke activists," Nainoa Johsens, RNC Director of Asian Pacific American Media, said in a statement.

"Just like in Virginia’s gubernatorial election, Asian parents in San Francisco stood up to Democrat politicians who put radical ideology and scoring political points ahead of their kids. Even in deep blue San Francisco, Democrats are proving they are out of touch."

Brand also pointed to RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel’s recent tweet saying the recall election results "prove parents reject the Democrat agenda of school closures, forced masking, and renaming schools to appease far-left activists."

National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Mike Berg warned Democrats that the "midterms are coming" and that "Democrats have a choice: retire or lose."

The red wave predictions come after three San Francisco school board members were recalled from their posts.

Jonathan Butcher, the Heritage Foundation's Will Skillman Fellow in Education, told Fox News Digital that the recall is part of a "larger national trend."

"San Francisco’s school board has made a number of radical decisions, including the erasure of Abraham Lincoln from the name of a school. Voters spoke loud and clear that this does not represent their community," Butcher said. "This recall is part of a national trend. Last year, by June, concerned parents and voters around the U.S. had started more than twice the annual average number of school board recalls.

"So long as interest groups and policymakers dismiss parents or treat them as a threat, parents and voters (often one and the same) will respond by acting in the best interests of their children."

"Parents have the receipts for the anti-science and anti-kid crowd, and they are just getting started," added N2 America senior advisor and veteran Virginia GOP strategist Zack Roday. "Teacher union controlled politicians will continue to be held accountable by the long memory of fed up parents,"

Critics, including San Francisco Mayor London Breed, argued the school board members — President Gabriela López, Vice President Faauuga Moliga and Commissioner Alison Collins — pushed progressive politics rather than act in the best interest of children during the pandemic, and voters agreed, according to the San Francisco Department of Elections.

In San Francisco, one of the country's most liberal cities, Democrats were split over the recall effort. Fox News polling also revealed the high level of parental concern over what is being taught in schools.

The mayor, who is now responsible for appointing new board members to fill the vacancies until another election in November, also praised the parents who initiated the effort.

Article, if you want to read…

Authorities on Tuesday identified the four teenagers and four adults who were aboard a small, single engine passenger aircraft that crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near Drum Inlet Sunday — and two of them have ties to Wilmington.

Stephanie Fulcher, 42, a former Cape Fear Community College and University of North Carolina Wilmington student, and Douglas "Hunter" Parks, 45, founder and president of Wilmington-based environmental consulting business Green Assets, were aboard the plane.

According to her Facebook page, Fulcher studied nursing at both schools and graduated from CFCC in 2004 and UNCW in 2012.

UNCW spokesperson Krissy Vick confirmed Wednesday that Fulcher graduated from UNCW in May 2012, earning a bachelor's of science degree with a major in nursing.

"We are deeply sorry to learn that UNCW alumna Stephanie Ann McInnis Fulcher ‘12 was a passenger on the flight that crashed earlier this week in Carteret County, NC. We extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends. Once a Seahawk, always a Seahawk," the university said in a statement.

Fulcher and Parks are Carteret County residents, and a business partner of Parks said the two were dating.

Bailey Evans, vice president at Green Assets, issued a statement on behalf of the Parks family and Green Assets confirming Parks was involved in Sunday's crash.

"We are grateful for the many men and women – authorities and volunteers – who remain active in the recovery operation and investigation. We sincerely appreciate the outpouring of love, prayers, and concern expressed over the incident," the statement said.

According to the Carteret County Sheriff's Office, the group was returning from a hunting trip in Hyde County and was scheduled to return to Beaufort. The last post on Fulcher's Facebook page is a collection of photos from the trip posted Sunday morning.

Four other Carteret County residents were aboard the flight: Jacob Nolan Taylor, 16; Jonathan Kole McInnis, 15; Noah Lee Styron, 15; and Michael Daily Shepard, 15.

The pilot, Ernest Durwood Rawls, 67, and his son, Jeffrey Worthington Rawls, 28, are from Pitt County.

Carteret County Sheriff Asa Buck said in a news conference Monday authorities had "no indication that anyone survived the crash."

The U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search for the passengers Tuesday afternoon, according to a news release. Thirteen state and local agencies were involved in the search that lasted 48 hours and spanned more than 2,000 square miles.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, an air traffic controller at the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point reported radar showed the aircraft "behaving erratically" before disappearing from the radar screen. The possible downed aircraft was reported to the Coast Guard Sector North Carolina command center at 2:13 p.m. Sunday.

Buck said Tuesday dive teams searched the 55-feet-deep water where the plane crashed. Buck said Monday one body had been recovered and identified. The sheriff did not specify how many sets of remains had been recovered as of Tuesday.

Buck added search efforts for equipment that may shed light on the plane's flight path before the crash have been successful.

An investigation will be conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board to determine the cause of the crash.

COVID a wildcard as Biden prepares for State of the Union

1/WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is hoping to use his upcoming State of the Union address to nudge the pandemic into the nation’s rear-view mirror. But it could turn into yet another disruptive display of national tensions and frustration over trying to move past COVID-19.

Biden’s March 1 address to Congress will play out against what Vice President Kamala Harris has called a “malaise” over the persistence of COVID and growing public impatience to get back to normal after two full years of pandemic restrictions.

The setting — Capitol Hill — remains one of the most significantly disrupted workplaces in the country, something of a ground zero for culture wars over the lingering restrictions.

Proxy voting in the House allows lawmakers to skip going into the office and has been extended through March. Tours and office visits are limited. GOP lawmakers have racked up thousands of dollars in fines for violating mask-wearing mandates on the House floor.

Seating for Biden’s first address to a joint session of Congress last April was capped at about 200 — about 20% of usual capacity for a presidential presentation. White House officials say the protocols for Biden’s next one will be determined by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Pelosi indicated last week that lawmakers are aiming for “fuller participation” than last year, including inviting every member of Congress. She said, “I think the people are ready to pivot in a way that shows to the American people we largely have been vaccinated here."

But attendance, she added, will be "up to the Capitol physician.”

Republicans, meanwhile, have grown increasingly vocal about rolling back restrictions at the Capitol. In the Senate, more than half of GOP lawmakers this week signed a resolution calling on Congress to lift all virus rules and reopen to visitors.

“From stores to venues and most workplaces and schools, the rest of the United States has reopened, and it’s time for the Senate to do the same,” said Sen. Bill Hagerty, author of the resolution.

Though the Capitol and other federal properties set their own rules, the District of Columbia's indoor mask requirement for most indoor gatherings and businesses is to be lifted on the same day as Biden's address, The White House, for its part, says it will set rules for the complex based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance.

There are no indications that Pelosi is prepared to lift the House chamber's mask guidance, which she maintained last year even when the CDC eased indoor mask-wearing requirements for fully vaccinated individuals before the emergence of the delta variant.

The White House has taken extraordinary precautions to keep Biden from getting the virus, including requiring high-quality masks in his vicinity and limiting his travel and participation in large events.

In addition to members of Congress, the State of the Union audience traditionally includes Cabinet members, military leaders, Supreme Court justices, diplomats and other invited guests. It's not yet clear if Pelosi has decided whether to send invitations to Washington's diplomatic corps and other guests who normally fill the galleries for the address.

A speech to a full House chamber would be by far the densest audience of Biden's presidency to date.

The debate over rules on wearing masks and getting vaccinated has become a major front in the nation's culture wars, breaking down along regional and political lines. Scenes of mask-less celebrities enjoying the Super Bowl — when schoolchildren in some jurisdictions are required to wear masks even when outside at recess — have drawn criticism for unfairness.

Some Biden allies are fretting that the Capitol scene could add fuel to the fire, or that anti-mask conservative Republicans would use the speech for some stunt or protest.

More broadly, federal officials are racing to finalize new, more flexible national guidance on mask-wearing and other policies before Biden steps up to the rostrum in the House chamber at 9:01 p.m.

“We want to give people a break from things like mask-wearing, when these metrics are better, and then have the ability to reach for them again, should things worsen,” Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC, said Wednesday.

She indicated the revised guidelines, to be coordinated with a broad administration plan for the “next phase” of the virus response, should come around the end of February.

2/ Administration officials expect that new strategy and message to figure prominently in Biden’s speech as pandemic fatigue becomes more pronounced.

There is growing concern that the federal government’s cautious approach to easing is leaving it out of step with even Democratic-run state and local governments that are lifting restrictions as coronavirus cases, hospitalizations and deaths decline.

The White House sees Biden's speech — in concert with the expected loosening of virus limits — as an opportunity to help him stem an erosion of public confidence in his leadership. According to an AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll last month, just 45% of Americans said they approved of Biden’s handling of COVID-19, down from 57% in December and 66% in July.

There is growing clamor in both parties.

“This is an opportunity for the president to acknowledge the challenge that we faced over the last few years, but also acknowledge that we’re gonna have to learn how to live with COVID, and we know how to do that," said Democratic Rep. Ami Bera, a California physician.

In an interview, Bera said he hoped Congress would roll back some of its limits, including its mask mandate, and that Biden could speak to an audience that would symbolize the emergency phase of the pandemic was over.

“It is a real bully pulpit and the president could take this opportunity to move the country to a more normal space,” he said.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell this week criticized the Democrats' approach, saying they only recently changed their tune because of shifting public opinion.

“The only science that’s changed in the last two weeks is the political science,” he said. “The only data that’s changed in the last two weeks is Democrats’ polling data.”

If Biden is Really President, Why is Putin Calling Trump?

The criminal Biden administration and its complicit intelligence agencies have spent the last few months fomenting a narrative that a Russian invasion of the Ukraine is imminent, despite Putin’s reassurances, true or not, to the contrary. Either Biden or his doppelganger twice claimed to have warned Putin about the consequences of invading his southern neighbor, namely financial sanctions. But someone is lying. Real Raw News has unearthed evidence suggesting Putin has rejected Biden’s phone calls because he does not recognize Biden as the legitimate leader of the United States.

Not only did Putin refuse Biden’s phone calls, but he also reached out to the administration’s principal adversary, Donald J. Trump, who has been actively monitoring the Russia-Ukraine crisis from his Florida command center, a Mar-a-Lago source told Real Raw News.

“They’ve talked 3 times in the last 30 days, with Putin initiating each call,” our source said.

Trump and Putin have kept an amicable but cautious relationship, he added.

“I will not speak with fake leaders, but I will speak with you,” Putin reportedly told Trump.

Putin wanted Trump’s opinion on what he called credible evidence that Biden’s “criminal regime” was conspiring with Russian separatists to stage a false flag in the Ukraine and blame Russia for damage done and lives lost. He said the FSB, the successor to the KGB, had acquired from third parties audio tapes on which Sec. of State Anthony Blinken and Def. Sec. Lloyd Austin discussed everything from waging cyberwarfare to detonating a bomb in downtown Kiev.

When Trump requested copies of said audio tapes, Putin balked, saying he could not presently share the tapes without knowing Trump’s intentions.

“If those tapes exist and are really real, then we’ve won bigtime. But I need them in huge way. I have to get them authenticated,” Trump told Putin.

“Trump would like to believe Putin, but knows he could easily be bluffing. Putin does what’s in Putin’s best interest, and he’s not above subterfuge. He’s former KGB. So, he shifted gears; he wanted to know the disposition of the U.S. military,” our source said.

“President Trump, I understand a significant part of the U.S. military is loyal to you, but many still support this man Joseph Biden. I’m unclear how, shall we say, this will play out if Biden orders combat troops to intervene,” Putin said.

“President Putin, I won’t discuss that with you. But I’ll tell you something: If, and only if, I have real proof of a false flag, you won’t have to worry about that. Our military will not go into an illegal war with your country. But right now, you have 150,000 troops and tanks, an enormous number, a number I don’t think you’ve done before, on your border, and that’s your right, but it makes people watching you want to know just what’s going on,” Trump said.

Putin insisted troop buildups were proactive, in case a false flag event forces his hand, and promised Trump that Russia was taking all possible steps to avoid a regional conflict. “If war happens, history will not see Russia as the aggressor,” Putin added.

Per our source, the second and third call went similarly, with Putin denying invasion plans and Trump requesting conclusive proof of a planned false flag attack.

RRN is funny. I know it's satire and full of MI comms. I remember reading how Newsom was hung and before he died he spoke in latin saying something like "worms will eat your soul" and you can't kill me. Implying he was fully possessed by demons.

I remember posting that he was fully possessed. Then in the next article it literally said that "he was fully possessed". Knowing that Hillary, Obama and other "puppets" are actually heroes I assume Gavin is too. So RRN watches this board and is talking to us.

Also they said Hillary was killed months ago meanwhile she is making appearances on twitter with Huma. So clearly she is alive. What made me laugh is that for her last meal she asked for a strawberry milk shake, two boiled eggs and jalepenos.

So RRN is MI fake news. Distractions and Disinfo are necessary. My guess is that it is a way to show which puppets have had their strings cut and a way to rub it in the faces of the cabal.

20 between 84 & 104, break is after 84 on the left, 4 on the right side of 84 means the break is is after 104

Here's what I see:

A 30 day ban by the jannies on /pol/ for posting an RRN article

A BV on /hivemind/ that blew his ability to subvert /hm/ by deleting RRN articles within 24 hours of board creation

A group of JIDF shills that flip their shit whenever anyone mentions RRN

No one Suing RRN

No one freaking out over Babylon Bee

A random IP address that first and last posts are all about RRN

There is a concerted effort to stop anyone from reading RRN. Which tells me I should be reading and archiving it.'

Canadian Towing Company to Ignore Trudeau Order to Disrupt Trucker Protests

A towing company CEO plans to ignore Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's order for towing companies to disrupt truckers protesting vaccine mandates.

Trudeau, who invoked emergency powers for the first time in 50 years, has faced a fierce backlash over his directives, which include towing companies forcing their employees to remove trucker's rigs or face loss of federal contracts and other penalties.

Trucker protest

A police vehicle blocks a downtown street to prevent trucks from joining a blockade of truckers protesting vaccine mandates near the Parliament Buildings on February 15, 2022 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has invoked the Emergencies Act for the first time in Canada's history to try to put an end to the blockade which is now in its third week. The CEO of a towing company in Ottawa, Canada said his business will not comply with Trudeau's order. (Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images) Scott Olson/Getty Images

So far, there is little evidence that towing companies are complying with Trudeau's orders.

in an interview with Newsweek, Ibrahim Masir, CEO of Alliance Towing in Ottawa, Canada, said the government has put small businesses in a terrible position. He described it as a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" spot.

"It's a position that no small business wants to be in and we're here because of the government measures."

Masir went on to mention that the present situation with the trucker protest is a government-created problem, and it's an issue that Canada and the military should be tasked with fixing. However, he did mention that his stance was not to be interpreted as being for or against the trucker's protest.

A first-generation immigrant, Masir said he is just looking to run his small business to make a living for himself and his employees.

"I started this business from the ground up. I am just looking for the opportunity to create jobs. No one is talking about, any longer, the unnecessary stress the lockdown restrictions have placed on businesses. Sixty-six percent of Canadians support removing all of the mandates."

Additionally, Masir said the safety issues involved with removing the trucks are too much, and as such, he would just prefer not to get involved.

"My employees are not trained to work in that kind of an environment. The liability issues associated with that situation are just too great."

Masir also cited the stress the restrictions have placed upon the mental health of individuals and relationships.

On Wednesday, police in Ottawa provided the truckers with leaflets warning them to leave the area immediately or face the possibility of arrest. Thirty-three people, at this time, have been arrested in connection to the protest.

The CEO of Alliance Towing's refusal to adhere to Trudeau's order is similar to the stance of other companies before the order was put in place.

Earlier this month, Ottawa city manager Steve Kanaellakos said he was having trouble getting companies to remove the trucks participating in the protest, according to Business Insider.

"I've contacted them all and they're all refusing, as of today, to provide heavy tow truck work."

On February 5, Jim Watson, the mayor of Ottawa, declared a state of emergency, saying the situation had gotten out of control. At that point, the truckers' protest had reached 10 days. Police in the Canadian city also said that anyone who was found to be assisting the truckers with their protest was subject to arrest.

Newsweek also reached out to several other towing businesses in Ottawa. Ottawa Metro Towing and Recovery, Gervais Towing & Recovery, and Abrams Towing all responded with "no comment." One other business could not be reached for a response.

What I can't stand is the fucking dumbass who thinks twitter access is proof of life in this day and age. EVERYTHING can be faked. UIs can be faked and put into a video. EVERYTHING can be coopted, steered away by your local intel agency, and tricked. Who the hell thinks I'm dumb enough to go "oh HRC was tweeting durrhurrhurr" when the fucking body double exists, at bare minimum that ought to raise flags of the "controlled by whom" variety.

But yeah banhammering is the wrong move. They don't use their intellect because they have no intellect. Relying on groupthink overcoming what you claim is disinformation is asinine.

Furthermore, seeing the way Q is depicted by the media now having lived through the events theselves, I have serious doubts on investigatory skills of the modern media machine. They have gone decades killing investigators and whistleblowers… Stuff gets so twisted by narratives and beholden to whims of those who claim they have figured out truth, when it's just hill fighting and the side of truth actually quotes the thing to figure out the thing. That should be a hint right there of discernment, because you can't describe a thing without relying on the thing telling you about the thing. :-)
