The Taliban have set free thousands of prisonersafter sweeping into the Afghan capital, according to reports.

Video footage appeared to show a stream of people walking free from the site in Kabul, carrying their belongings.

Some of the prisoners – who are seen walking calmly away from a facility with a large wall, watch towers and barbed wire –are thought to be linked to terrorist and Islamic extremist groups.

The Pul-e-Charki prison, said to be where the clip was filmed, can house around 5,000 prisoners and is the country’s largest jail.

Since Biden took over:

  • Taliban got a country

  • Russia got a pipeline

  • Illegal immigrants got a free path into the United States

Meanwhile American citizens got inflation, high gas prices, and crime.

Biden’s entire presidency has been a disaster—and it’s only been 7 months.

OPEC+ sees no need to meet U.S. call for more supply, sources say

OPEC and its allies, including Russia, believe oil markets do not need more oil than they plan to release in the coming months, despite U.S. pressure to add supplies to check an oil price rise, four sources told Reuters.

Stole this from General Research, anybody have the tweet where Rick Scott said we should "welcome President Biden" back in the beginning of the year? Methinks those would be great for the side-by-side treatment

China Mocks "Embarrassed, Arrogant" US Forces While Praising "Friendly" Relations With Taliban

Chinese, Iranian, and to some degree Russian media are reacting with glee over humiliating scenes of America's exit plans in chaos coming out of Kabul Sunday into Monday.

Perhaps as expected, Chinese state-run Global Times featured it's most prominent headline Monday with the words "Taliban's rapid victory embarrasses US, smashes image, arrogance." Alternately Beijing is claiming to "respect" Afghans' choice - as the same article reads. And then there's outright mocking - as is seen by the Global Times' editor…

It's been no secret that in recent weeks as rapid Taliban gains became obvious, China's government has been preparing to officially recognize the rule of the Islamists now in control of the presidential palace and all government ministries. China and Afghanistan share a short border of up to 47 miles.

Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Hua Chunying declared at a Monday briefing: "China has noticed that the Afghan Taliban said yesterday the war was over, and they vowed to establish through negotiations an open and inclusive Islamic government, and to take responsible actions to ensure the safety of Afghan people and foreign diplomatic personnel."

His word choice of an "inclusive" Islamic government is interesting and laughable indeed, though perhaps there was some subtle trolling of the West going on as well.

Beijing also declared Monday that it's ready for "friendly and cooperative" relations with the Taliban, though has reportedly pressed for "commitments" of respect for human rights. Beijing has through the summer maintained 'unofficial' relations with the Taliban, which included a late July visit of Taliban commanders to China to meet with the foreign minister.

Social media raises questions on clocks, possible CIA operatives in White House tweet on Afghanistan

Much of the immediate reaction focused on whether two panels on screen for conference call appeared to show the operatives.

A tweet Sunday by the White House showing pictures of President Biden hosting a video conference with other top U.S. officials about the Afghanistan crisis is raising several questions including why international clocks appear to show incorrect time and whether the identity of CIA operatives were exposed.

Much of the immediate reaction focused on whether two panels on the screen for the conference call appeared to show the operatives, then turned on why the Moscow and London clocks above the screen showed a three-hour time difference, when the difference now is just two hours.

One Twitter user questioned whether the photo in the White House tweet was in fact a file or stock photo, considering the time difference was two hours in March.

"Note the time in London and Moscow on the clocks,” tweeted @pdubdev. "Clocks show 3 hour time difference. However, there is currently only a 2 hour difference. Before March, London and Moscow have a 3 hour time difference because of daylight savings. Is this a stock photo?"

Another Twitter user, identified as Aldous Huxley’s Ghost ™, posted a similar question.

"Hi, @WhiteHouse, can you please explain why the clocks above the television show Standard Time rather than Daylight Savings Time?" the post reads. "Moscow will not be three hours different than London until November 7, 2021. This isn't a pre-March picture that's Photoshopped, is it?"

The White House tweet, which included a picture of Biden looking at the video screen with eight panels – including one labeled "CIA" and another labeled "Doha Station," in Qatar, reads: "This morning, the President and Vice President met with their national security team and senior officials to hear updates on the draw down of our civilian personnel in Afghanistan, evacuations of SIV applicants and other Afghan allies, and the ongoing security situation in Kabul."

"Who took this picture outing Intel officials?! Dear God," tweeted Richard Grenell, a former U.S. diplomat and an acting director of National Intelligence in the Trump administration.

Jim Geraghty, a senior political correspondent for the "National Review" magazine, tweeted: "Heck of a job, White House communications shop. I figure you would want to crop out the teleconference screens labeled "CIA" and "Doha Station." You panicking amateur idiots."

Biden in a national TV address Monday afternoon did not address the questions raised about the White House tweet.

The publishers of the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times have urged the White House to help evacuate more than 200 journalists and staff members in Afghanistan.

(makes me wonder how many of those "staff" are actually clowns)
