so here is the "turd" dropped and the equity is down-prolly won't last long-see comment below from yesterday about length of drop and moar importantly share buyback amount from 2021

Already on pace to easily surpass daily avg volume.

JPMorgan Drops On Mixed Q1 Results: EPS Slides, I-Banking Revenues Disappoint; Loss Provisions Jump As Dimon Warns On "Economic Challenges"

First quarter earnings season has officially started with JPM reporting Q1 results which were somewhat mixed (top-line beat, EPS miss) thanks to strong trading offset by weaker than expected IB revenues. The company's net interest income outlook was also raised for full year 2022 to $53BN from $50BN, and just to make sure that investors were happy, the bank announced a new $30BN share buyback, which perhaps was meant to cover up the fact that JPM reported an unexpected $524 million loss "driven by funding spread widening" as well as "credit valuation adjustments relating to increases in commodities exposures and markdowns of derivatives receivables from Russia-associated counterparties."

Among the notable highlights in the summary slide below is that the company's credit costs of $1.5 billion in Q1 - driven by net charge offs of $0.6BN and reserve build of $0.9BN - seem rather high.

Starting at the top, JPM reported total adjusted revenue of $31.59 billion, above the exp. of $31.44BN resulting in EPS of $2.63, just missing the 2.73 consensus estimate, the lowest earnings since Q2 2020.

Dimon said that JPM added $902 million in credit reserves because of “high probabilities of downside risks*.” That said, as Bloomberg notes, "while the reserve build of $902 million reflects higher probabilities of downside risks, current costs (net charge-offs) were actually a bit better than expected.-kinda like yesterdays "not as bad" 40 year high inflation

* to magically apply in Q2 for another 'top-line "beat"

Looking at JPMorgan’s taxes for the quarter, while the bank's so-called managed rate was 24.3%, its effective rate was 17.7%, an odd discrepancy. The bank says this “reflects fully taxable-equivalent (“FTE”) adjustments of $873mm in 1Q22.”

Commenting on the quarter, Jamie Dimon said that lending strength continued, with average firmwide loans up 5% while deposits rose 13%. The CEO also said that credit losses are still at historically low levels, and added that he remains optimistic on economy, at "least for short term" but his longer-term outlook was decidedly bearish, warning of "significant geopolitical and economic challenges ahead due to high inflation, supply chain issues and the war in Ukraine.”

“JPMorgan Chase generated a healthy $30 billion of revenue, $8.3 billion of earnings and an ROTCE of 16% in the first quarter after adding $902 million in credit reserves largely due to higher probabilities of downside risks. Lending strength continued with average firmwide loans up 5% while credit losses are still at historically low levels. We remain optimistic on the economy, at least for the short term – consumer and business balance sheets as well as consumer spending remain at healthy levels – but see significant geopolitical and economic challenges ahead due to high inflation, supply chain issues and the war in Ukraine.”

And speaking of loans and deposits, the bank disclosed total assets of just under $4 trillion, up more than $200BN from Q4 as deposits rose by ~$50BN to $2.516 trillion.

Perhaps even more notable was JPM's admission that it suffered a half a billion dollar Ukraine-war linked loss**: specifically, the bank disclosed that the loss of $524mm, was "driven by funding spread widening as well as credit valuation adjustments relating to both increases in commodities exposures and markdowns of derivatives receivables from Russia-associated counterparties." Expect many questions on the nature of this loss during the earnings call.

**not a billion as Jamie forecasted last week....knew then what it was as qtr already close-so instant "improvement"

Moving on, we next look at Consumer & Community Banking, where deposits were up 18% and client investment assets were up 9%, largely driven by positive net flows.

First Texas bus drops off migrants blocks from US Capitol in Washington, DC

The buses are part of Gov. Greg Abbott's plan to counter the Biden administration's approach to illegal immigration. A bus from Texas arrived in Washington, D.C. Wednesday morning, transporting dozens of illegal immigrants as part of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s new plan to counter federal immigration policies during an ongoing border crisis.

Abbott announced last week that he was directing the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to transport migrants released from federal custody in Texas to the nation’s capital and other locations outside his state. The bus pulled up at approximately 8 a.m. local time, blocks away from the U.S. Capitol building. Fox News has learned that they came from the Del Rio sector in Texas, after coming to the U.S. from Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

Upon the bus's arrival in Washington, D.C., individuals disembarked one by one except for family units who exited together. They checked in with officials and had wristbands they were wearing cut off before being told they could go. According to TDEM, Abbott’s plan is already working. The agency told Fox News on Monday that many of the communities that originally reached out for support – from the Rio Grande Valley to Terrell County – say the federal government stopped dropping immigrants in their towns since Abbott's announcement on April 6.

Some had questioned whether Abbott’s plan to bus migrants was genuine. The White House dismissed it as a "publicity stunt." Even Texas state Rep. Matt Schaefer, a Republican, called it a "gimmick." TDEM said it dispatched buses over the weekend to border communities where it coordinated with officials to identify these immigrants. The agency added that each bus has the capacity and supplies necessary to carry up to 40 migrants released in Texas communities and transport them to Washington, D.C.

Still, the governor's legal authority to transport busloads of migrants to the U.S. Capitol remains in question. The 2012 Supreme Court case, Arizona v. the United States, prevents states from making their own immigration policies.

Roman Abramovich’s $120M Riviera mansion seized by French authorities

French authorities have reportedly seized an $120 million mansion belonging to Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich. The historic home — located on the ritzy Riviera — was previously leased by King Edward VIII after he abdicated the British throne to marry divorcée Wallis Simpson. The property is one of 12 French residences owned by Abramovich across the country — all of which have been seized in the past few weeks, the Daily Mail reported. French officials are currently cracking down on the activities of wealthy Russians in their country in order to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin to withdraw from the war in Ukraine. Abramovich, who has a net worth of $8.3 billion, is a Kremlin confidante with close ties to Putin. While Abramovich is sure to be devastated by the seizure of the dozen properties, the home on the French Riviera is said to be particularly important to the oligarch. He purchased the home — known as Château de la Croë — back in 2001 before spending close to $40 million on renovations. The billionaire businessman added a rooftop swimming pool, a gigantic gym and a home cinema to the mansion, which was first built back in 1926. Château de la Croë — which boasts 12 bedrooms and eight bathrooms — is set on 12 acres of lavish land just feet from the Mediterranean Sea.

King Edward VIII began leasing the home in 1938, less than two years after he abdicated the British throne. The royal used the residence as a vacation home with his wife Wallis Simpson, where they hosted some of the world’s most powerful people. Former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and wife, Clementine, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at Château de la Croë in 1948.

Mkt Fag: Don't look at JP Morgue's Turd...looka the indices and Yerp's inflation issue is not ours edition

Opened up slightly down on the DOW/SP500 and NAS but then the hopium kicked in with quite a flurry of volume that (per usual drops off). DOW had a "juice" at 11:20am EST of 2.62M and same with the SP500 @ 14.32m and up dhey went and then leveled off as the volume decreased-shorts covering here (most shorted stocks squeezed again). Pretty big short cover at 1:28pm EST on the DOW-cause it dropped off a bit-if it was long it wouldn't have dropped like that-red circle. But look at the NAS with those YUGE volume spikes at 2:00pm (2.94B) and shortly after at 2:04pm EST (2.97B) and then a whopper at 2:26pm (3.11B) and there are only very few places that could come from-and all at the same time. Those were prolly Softbank cuz they do not care about price-they just want "out"-did same thing towards end of 2020-see here for latest >>132098, >>132383 pb It's either that or moar of the "most shorted stocks" giving it up....again-when will these ones learn?-you can't fight the FRB on the retail or even 'tute level. U.K. inflation accelerates to three-decade high in March

U.K. inflation hit a three-decade high in March of 7.0% on rising fuel prices, and economists expect an even bigger jump in April due to the increase in utility bills. The consumer price index–which measures what consumers pay for goods and services–rose at its fastest annual pace since March 1992, accelerating from the 6.2% on-year rise registered in February, according to data from the U.K.’s Office for National Statistics released Wednesday.

Of course !! but not here: U.S. Treasury Secretary J-J-Janet Yellen said Wednesday that she was more worried about the prospects of a recession in Europe. She also uttered some interdasting bullshit about “the future of the international order” and then this: Sec. Yellen outlines the goals and objectives of the international order, predicts a concerning global famine, warns against the cleaving of financial mechanisms for international trade as an outcome of the Ukraine conflict, threatens any nation who does not support the western political alliance and outlines the need for decarbonization of the global economy.

Treasury Yields backed off as nuffin goes straight up (except equties) when the NYFED chicago office makes sure that no short is going to "collect"-this had to do with sized bets not small or retail. They are determining the winners/losers and the rest are just along for the ride-kudos to anyone scalping this shit as it's pretty easy to see. -see cap #3 courtesy of ZH for Bond complex activity today. Bonds extended their gains (yield collapse) today - especially at the short-end (2Y yields are down over 30bps from the Monday highs). The long-end remains higher in yield on the week. Oil continues upwards and this is despite a YUGE increase in inventories-and after it gained roughly 6% yesterday. Modi is still buying Russian oil cheap so good for him-this is still about keeping prices elevated for Armaco IPO because you actually see demand destruction but yet the price continues upwards. Add in the SPR 'releases' and the price of crude haz no bidness being whre it is but since muh speculators do it and position limits are never enforced we get this shit. So much for lowering gas prices BOTUS....can't blame VP any longer (you'll try though)

Bank of Canada delivers jumbo rate hike with more to come

The Bank of Canada raised its policy interest rate by half a percentage point in its biggest hike in 22 years, and said rates are poised to move significantly higher as it aggressively wrestles inflation down from a three-decade high. Policymakers led by Governor Tiff Macklem increased the central bank’s overnight benchmark to 1 per cent on Wednesday. Macklem said he expects rates will return to what they consider the “neutral range” of 2 per cent and 3 per cent, with policy makers prepared to move “forcefully” if needed. The bank also said it will stop purchasing government bonds later this month to start shrinking its balance sheet*, another form of stimulus withdrawal.

Silver & Gold Secrets of the New Monetary System

Read on below about caveat on this source

The Root A or Roota theory

Start at 11:50-the rest is stuff you already know and space filler imo

You've seen me mention some of this over the several years and I am going to put in a video that was made today by a source who has provided some great research on this subject. They became a crypto-tard in 2017 (and a bit prior*) and heavily promoted crypto as a "sound alternative" to FIAT backed currency. I think they got tired of waiting for this theory to work it's way out and actually backed off the Ag part of the good research they have done in the past for a few years-only to return to it recently as the crypto thing is becoming moar and moar exposed. A lot of this information is behind a pay-wall (BOO!) it should be accessible to all at this point.

*This source was a heavy promoter of Lite-Coin and in 2018 the U.N. went to a conference that the 'creator' of this particular crypto was at (as well as this source) and gave it a "blessing"-some sort of certificate of recognition or some bullshit like that-this source was ALL over that as being positive so I really tuned them out at that point. However it doesn't and should not detract from the past research they have done. Now I have learned things from this source as well that have "filled in" some blanks so please do not think I am bashing this fellow because of position on crypto-it's kinda funny cause if you truly believe this 100% you would not go near crypto at all. He did mistake the EFP process at the COMEX as an Exchange for Physical when it is clearly not -we all make mistakes.

Want to add that I knew a good part of this theory (prolly about 60%) starting from my grandma in the late 70's and early 80's-she even had a copy of the original comic book issued by the Boston Fed in 1981 called "Wishes and Rainbows". I have also mentioned that muh first oz of silver was given to me by her in either 1979 or 1980-I cannot recall the exact year but it was one of those two-I still have it today. Now why would someone of that age give a kid an oz of silver for a Christmas present?-she knew what was going on with the financial system. This was also right around the time of the Hunt Brothers attempt to bust the system so mebby she thought they would have succeeded and gave me a head start-never asked why, I just accepted it but thought it was an odd 'present'. She used to work at an insurance co.-the name will go unmentioned but you have All heard of it-hint. Her boss worked at one of the Federal Reserve Banks (was either Atlanta or North Carolina-again many years have gone by and I cannot remember) so I am positive some of the knowledge she had came from them.

The reason I have put this vid in is because it goes over a lot of the research they have done in a brief but concise way. I've looked all this up on own and like I said knew some of this before so it was pretty easy to get on board this as I had a lot of the background info. already.

The part I am NOT on board with is this sources position on crypto-all of it is complete shit and although we do need a blockchain for voting and a financial system going forward it need to be stripped of ALL these tokens and bullshit before it can be used for that purpose. Until it is it is completely useless imo.

BTW you remember the "R" in 2018 drops and one of them had the phrase " It all changed in 1909"

What ever you think of those posts (authentic or not-I don't think they were) it was the date of 1909 and the event of finding all the Gold in the Grand Canyon they were referencing imo.

see next post

Now the sites in the Grand Canyon (a the famous overlook) are named after Egyptian Gods because supposedly Egyptian mummies were found at the same time-I have always thought they were Hindu or Vadic-cap #1

Cap 5 is from the original issue of 1981 and is the equation for infinity as in "print to infinity" to blow it up while using the benefits of doing that (also downsides such as inflation-we just have not gotten the benefits of it ala building up infrastructure and taking care of our selves but China certainly has-just mebby not the people part

The reason I have put this vid in is because it goes over a lot of the research they have done in a brief but concise way. I've looked all this up on own and like I said knew some of this before so it was pretty easy to get on board this as I had a lot of the background info. already.

What I find disengenuous about this source is the claim that they "stumbled" upon this-and infer that really no one else was aware of it at all until he found it-while they were at the FRB-Boston site on the day that the second issue of this comic book was released-January 1st 2007. Literally hundreds if not thousands are/were aware of this prior to him-but as I mentioned I have had 'blanks' filled in by his research and I'm sure many others have too. Now I was in a group (traders) and we were told in 2006 (by one of the seven members of the group) that the FRB was hiring colorists and illustrators and we sort of traced it back to the original issue from 1981 and speculated they were doing something else with it so we were on watch for anything coming out of that becasue a few of us were actually familiar with the whole thing. When they finally released it it was on New Year's day-2007 (and that was a Monday). You could submit a request for one of the 5,000 copies available so that was our plan. Unfortunately all the copies were spoken for by the time we got our request in and I beleive they did it on a holiday so that many would have been unable to get one before they ran out. But the digital one is still available.

So if I was unaware of it-becasue I tried to get a copy and many others were why was it unavailable shortly upon release.

I have printed that out many times and given out as well as some copies of ' The Creature from Jekyll Island'-not a cheap book then or now

The New York FRB (the REAL FRB-the one is Washington is just the 'storefront' becasue all the monetary-QE, MBS, Repos, Reverse Repos, Curreny Swaps etc-programs go through it and not the D.C. branch) has also done a series of comics too but they are mostly noise compared to the one from the Boston Branch.

Those here and are good place to learn about how 'THEY- create and manage money-even try to convince you that interest is a good thing-pretty rich coming from the New York Fed.

The one issued in 2017 'The Story of the Federal Reserve' even has a character named Glix and because it came from the evil FRBNY and haz Muh Ayys in it-really it does-I consider that one to be a satire but it does teach kids about howit all "works".

I encourage you to look at the Boston Fed ones from 1981 and 2007- both editions and decide for yourselves.
