We take terminology from computer gaming and make it our own. We don't give a damn who or whether anyone ever used it in the past. It's ours not theirs.

Yep Create New Thread was my biggest issue with the user JS version I've been using that included the original JS + Blacklist/NOPE + ToastMaster + PB highlighting.
Never figured out why it was not possible to Create Thread on the catalog without deleting the user JS completely and reloading. I'll check and see if this issue remains with today's update, & let you know.
I bake rarely (Memes, Planefags) so the workaround didn't bug me all that much, but having to delete user JS then reinstall it could a disaster for bakers under time pressure.

It happens to me after I bake a memes bread or jump into a bread and hit escape too soon. I assume some option in the site javascript does not initialize properly.
The fix, that always works, is to reload that page and don't be hasty about hitting ESC or scrolling.
CTRL-F5 to force reload on many browsers

Timestamp your caps.
I use a tool called Shutter (for Linux) and start it in Eastern Timezone so my caps will automatically be stamped with an EST/EDT timestamp.
Other tools for other operating systems?
A further refinement is to add the callsign or registration # or location. Whatever you think might help find the cap you're looking for at some future date when the timestamp alone is no longer terribly meaningful. This is where planefagging can get rather tedious.
Some do these extras and some don't.

Just like everywhere else ... the rural, farming, decentralized, down-home parts of NC tend to vote red. The urban and highly-educated (highly brainwashed by higher education) parts, like around Raleigh, Durham, Research Triangle Park, Greenville, tend to vote blue.
And Asheville is comped by Vanderbilt presence and new-age types.
I'll keep throwing info in Planefags Q+A as I think of it. Don't be overwhelmed -- do what feels comfy. It's a deep field of study.
