New connection?

“The one thing that we did discover was why Maxwell was deeply disliked among London publishers. This was because in 1954 a book wholesaler he took over had quickly failed, leaving many publishers with large unsold stocks.

One of the publishers was the family firm of a future Tory prime minister, Harold Macmillan. “We have lost a fortune but my lawyers say we’ll never get our money back,” Macmillan complained. He was a forerunner of many others who did business with Maxwell, and he never forgot. But there was still no story for us.”

Remains of missing ‘Seinfeld’ actor Charles Levin believed to be found in Oregon

Charles Levin was reported missing by his son on July 8.

Officials believe that they have found the remains of actor Charles Levin, who went missing almost a week ago, in rural Oregon.

Levin, best known for roles including “Seinfeld” and “Annie Hall,” was reported missing by his son on July 8 after not hearing from him for several days.

Through a cell phone ping and with help from a witness, Josephine County Search and Rescue traced Levin’s car, an orange 2012 Fiat, to a “very remote and almost impassible road,” the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety said in a statement Sunday.

Levin’s pug, Boo Bear, was found dead in the car, but the 70-year-old actor was not in the vehicle, officials said.

Searchers found human remains several hours later, which they believe have a “high probability” of belonging to Levin.

A positive identification is pending a medical examination.

Highlights in Levin’s decades-long career include “NYPD Blue,” “Designing Women,” “Hill Street Blues” and “Alice.”
