MAFFS 2 3 6 8 9 USAF C-130 Hercules doing fire drops in NorCal
2 heading back to Redding with 3 on ground and 6 freshly re-supplied and just up from Redding Municipal Airport
8 and 9 joining the group and up from McClellan Airport Sacramento
On a positive note there is some rain heading toward the Bootleg Fire east of Medford, OR-
Doesn't seem to be moving berry quickly though
Bootleg Fire: 74% contained
The Bootleg Fire's fireline is now a total of 323 miles, 413,752 acres in size and 74% contained. Some cloud cover and light rain in recent days have caused moderated fire behavior. Favorable conditions allowed crews on the ground, with continued air support, to make good progress on the fire line. On August 1, some isolated thunderstorms are possible, but they are more likely to bring gusty winds than rain.

SAM987 USAF G5 doing flybys at 200 ft over Kenai Municipal Airport nao.......
After about 5.5 hours from Oahu to Anchorage and the low altitude fly by at Elmendorf dis seems a bit odd......
This is also a fairly high-level AC from the 99th Airlift squad as well.
leetle refresher
99th Airlift Squadron which is part of the 89th Airlift Wing based at JBA
The squadron operates specially configured aircraft on Special Air Missions (SAM) directed by HQ USAF supporting the President, Vice President, and other US and foreign senior diplomats. Selectively manned aircrews are responsible for the detailed planning and execution of sensitive missions of national and international consequence. The crew establishes direct coordination with numerous agencies to include Headquarters United States Air Force, embassies, and Congressional offices. Crews conduct these global missions isolated from normal supply and command and control structures. The aircrews accomplish Special Air Missions (SAM) into unfamiliar airfields, in all weather conditions, with 99.5% reliability and often while the world is literally watching. The crews obtain diplomatic clearances and coordinate all en route support requirements essential to mission accomplishment.

>feel for the Aussies
For sure
Been keeping eye on that for long time.
They had an easier job doing it there cause they gave up da guns too quickly (overall).
Easy money from China and over.
They a lot like CA-the amount of repair time to fix all that on a similar scale imo.
.
SAM987 USAF G5 on ground at Ted Stevens Int'l Airport after an Elmendorf flyby and 3 at Kenai Muni prior to landing at Ted Stevens
If I had to guess here-keep that in mind**..someone signaled at Elmendorf and the flybys at Kenai Muni were another comms event at a lower key Airport
This is a SAM or Special Air Mission so the likelihood of it wanting some time-for practive purpose-'flying by' at a local Airport after a low pass at Elmendorf is pretty low.
All this after a 5.5 flight from Oahu to Anchorage as well.
**Not there obviously and can only speculate
Brahhhh.....
all dat necessary?
