Contract approved to use graphene oxide for water treatment

Jul 30th, 2021

UK technology business G2O Water Technologies has landed its first commercial contract for the enhancement of water filtration membranes with graphene oxide. This is particularly significant for both the technology company as well as the water sector globally, as it is the first commercially successful application of the recently developed material for water treatment.

The advantages of using graphene oxide lie in the enhancement of membrane performance, as it mitigates the effects of fouling – one of the biggest challenges operators of membrane-based water filtration systems face. With a coating of graphene oxide, successfully developed and piloted by the company in the northwest of England in collaboration with Hydrasyst Limited, operators can improve operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption and decrease chemical usage. It is anticipated that this will extend the lifetime of the membranes, as well as significantly reducing the cost and environmental impact of water treatment.

Hydrasyst, the earliest adopter of the technology, is a British turnkey solution provider of advanced membrane technology systems, particularly in industrial processes. Commenting on its work with G2O, Managing Director Kyle Wolff said, β€œWe’re thrilled to have been closely involved for some time now with the piloting and application of G2O Water Technology’s graphene oxide coatings. They have ultimately succeeded in proving their value for some of the most difficult water treatment challenges our customers face; for example in the industrial laundry sector. With the graphene oxide coating, our ceramic hollow-fibre membrane systems deliver significant operational advantages, enabling end-users to enhance the efficiency of their water usage, whilst delivering significant savings in energy costs.”

β€œThis is a significant milestone for the company and the whole water sector. It’s the first commercially successful application of graphene oxide for water treatment”, said Chris Wyres, CEO of G2O Technologies. β€œThe results of industrial trials with Hydrasyst validate the real-world advantages the solution delivers. We will be working closely with Hydrasyst to roll-out Nanopulse systems for a range of water treatment applications. We envisage that wide-scale deployment of this transformational solution can contribute to addressing the challenges of water scarcity and climate change.”

Australian War Crimes Syndicate To Police The Streets Of Sydney

So there are going to be soldiers policing Australia’s streets.

In what was already being called the harshest pandemic restrictions in Australia, New South Wales police have requested 300 Australian Defense Force troops to help enforce lockdown rules in eight local government areas in the suburbs of Western Sydney.

β€œThe personnel will deploy on Friday, Defence Minister Peter Dutton said, and will begin assisting police with ensuring compliance with restrictions next week,” Reuters reports.

β€œArmy troops will door-knock homes of people who have tested positive to COVID-19 and those deemed to be close contacts to ensure they are isolating in a crackdown on Sydney hotspots after NSW reached a record number of new infections,” the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

This would be the same ADF which has been caught committing horrific war crimes in Afghanistan, by the way. These are the wonderful people who will be going door to door through Sydney’s poorest and least-white neighborhoods β€œensuring compliance with restrictions”.

I haven’t felt comfortable writing about many aspects of the worldwide government responses to Covid-19 for a number of reasons, but it doesn’t take a scientific genius to understand that once you’ve got a war criminal military force patrolling the streets of your country, things have gone too far. With the US president toying with the idea of nationwide vaccine mandates and protests erupting in France over vaccine passport policies, things are clearly heating up around the world.

This is coming as more and more aggressively manufactured stigma is directed at unvaccinated people and β€œconspiracy theorists”, up to and including widespread support for banning vaccine skeptics from social media at the US government’s direction. The way unvaccinated people and conspiracy theorists are being increasingly blamed for society’s problems is beginning to look a lot like the liberal version of blaming poor people and immigrants for society’s problems, which is very convenient for the powerful people who are actually responsible for society’s problems.

It’s outrageous how we all know our governments and institutions lie to us all the time about important things, yet when people are distrustful of those institutions they get treated like they belong in a straight jacket. I mean sure, this distrust sometimes manifests in ways that are not well-informed or truth-based, but expecting all rank-and-file members of the public who work full time to have a perfectly erudite understanding of every situation is absurd. The distrust is reasonable, and it’s not their fault.

If people distrust their government and institutions, the blame rests exclusively on the shoulders of the government and institutions who created that distrust in the first place. You can’t create distrust and then act like people are crazy for distrusting you. That’s not a thing.

Nearly 2 million households owe $15 billion in back rent as eviction moratorium expires

The Supreme Court ruled that β€œclear and specific congressional authorization, via new legislation would be necessary” for another extension.

As many as 1.95 million households across America owed a collective $15 billion in back rent when a nationwide eviction moratorium expired this weekend, according to Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia estimates.

That number will reach 2 million by December, according to the report released Friday. In Pennsylvania, about 60,000 renter households will owe $412 million come August.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) made one final 30-day extension of the Emergency Rental Assistance Program through July 31. President Joe Biden’s administration said its β€œhands are tied” by the courts on the matter and any further relief must come from Congress itself.

β€œGiven the recent spread of the delta variant, including among those Americans both most likely to face evictions and lacking vaccinations, President Biden would have strongly supported a decision by the CDC to further extend this eviction moratorium to protect renters at this moment of heightened vulnerability,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in a news release. β€œUnfortunately, the Supreme Court has made clear that this option is no longer available.”

Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., staged a protest at the US Capitol on Saturday night to contest the fact that Congress failed to pass legislation to extend the moratorium.

In June, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that β€œclear and specific congressional authorization, via new legislation would be necessary” for another extension.

β€œIn light of the Supreme Court’s ruling, the President calls on Congress to extend the eviction moratorium to protect such vulnerable renters and their families without delay,” Psaki said.

The administration also asked the U.S. Departments of Housing and Urban Development, Agriculture, and Veterans Affairs to extend their respective moratoriums to protect Americans living in federally-insured, single family homes through the end of September.

β€œThe President has also asked these and other departments to do everything in their power so that owners and operators of federally-assisted and financed rental housing seek Emergency Rental Assistance to make themselves whole while keeping families in secure and safe housing – before moving toward eviction,” she said.

β€œThe CDC’s eviction moratorium has been critical in helping people stay housed and avoid a wave of evictions and homelessness as Pennsylvania and the nation experience continued economic insecurity, but we must prepare for what may come when the moratorium ends,” Snead said.

Union declares strike in world’s LARGEST copper mine in Chile after labor negotiations fail

A labor union has voted to approve a strike at Escondida, the world’s largest copper mine, located in the Atacama Desert, Chile, where the miners are demanding better work conditions and benefits during the pandemic.

The mine’s Union No 1 said that 2,164 of its members, or 99,5% of those who had voted, had chosen to reject a final contract offer, and that it had approved the strike. β€œThe resounding result once against demonstrates that… our ranks believe that this offer doesn’t contain any progress towards [addressing] the legitimate demands of the workers,” the union said, in a statement late on Saturday. It also said the vote should become a β€œdecisive wake-up call” for the mine’s owner, the Australian-based mining giant BHP Group, to start β€œsubstantive talks.”

The Federation of Copper Workers (FTC), an umbrella union group, said that miners did not stop contributing to the Chilean economy during the Covid-19 pandemic and are demanding β€œfair labor and human relations.” While the exact terms of the offer were not released, the union is demanding an additional bonus equivalent of 1% of dividends paid to the mine’s owners as a recognition of the sacrifices made by workers during the pandemic, according to Chilean media. BHP said in a statement to Reuters this week that its offer contained improvements to the current work environment, and new benefits, and was a result of conversations with workers.

After the vote, the company said it remains committed to dialogue and reaching an agreement with the union at upcoming government-mediated talks. During the previous labor dispute in 2017, miners at Escondida went on a strike for more than 40 days, demanding better contracts.

β€œI first stumbled upon a document, called KONTRATEN-E-PLOTE which translates to β€˜read the full contract’.

β€œOnly later I discovered it was Albanian website that has published it on January 2021. They deserve ALL the credit for the leakage of the document, and journalists around the world deserves the shame for not discovering and reporting it.

β€œCountries might claim they negotiated a better deal, but based on the evidence we have received from South America it seems this contract is real, and that it’s similar to what was used worldwide.

β€œβ€˜One Health Ministry official, Yaron Niv, said in a separate Kan interview that each dose cost Israel $62.’ Netanyahu is indeed a magician – he got Israel to pay 5 times more than Albania and made people worship him for this BAD deal.

β€œThis contract is actually worse than it seems.

β€œCurrent Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) is regulated by the FDA. cGMP will tell you NOTHING about mRNA, because we never had cGMP of mRNA vaccine, so you cannot prove cGMP malpractice.

β€œFormer president of Pfizer in Brazil and CEO for Latin America Carlos Murillo today said in testimony to the COVID CPI that the clauses proposed by the pharmaceutical company for the offer of vaccines to Brazil are not β€˜preeminent’, as stated by the former minister of Eduardo Pazuello Health.

β€œAccording to Murillo, Pfizer demanded from all countries the same conditions for the purchase of vaccines against COVID-19. In addition, he said that claims that the drug maker would have demanded state assets such as embassies and military bases as collateral are not correct. β€˜It’s distorted information,’ he declared.”

Biber concluded: β€œTo those [who] think it is a fake: My university law professor said laws are like computer code. They use legal functions, and variables, and processes. I worked in Big Pharma, I reviewed many contracts in my career, and this document seems to me as real as can be.

β€œI wrote this on the 13th of July: β€˜Israel has turned into a pharmaceutical Banana Republic, where the priorities of a multinational supersedes the priorities of its citizens. It is no longer the Jewish motherland, it is Pfizerland.”

β€œAddendum: Former president of Pfizer in Brazil and CEO for Latin America testified to the Brazilian committee that Pfizer demanded the same condition for vaccine purchase from all countries:

The Suppression of Invermectin: β€˜There’s Good Reason Pfizer Fought to Hide the Details of These Contracts’

β€œIf you were wondering why Ivermectin was suppressed, it is because the agreement that countries had with Pfizer does not allow them to escape their contract, which states that even if a drug will be found to treat COVID-19, the contract cannot be voided.”

Unredacted contracts for the experimental biological agent known as the β€œCOVID-19 vaccine” between the Pfizer corporation and various governments continue to be revealed.

Information security expert Ehden Biber told America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) Frontline News that the first document to recently emerge was discovered by Albanian newspaper Gogo.al. Biber then was able to locate the digitally-signed Brazilian contract, and at least two others, one with the European Commission, and the other with the Dominican Republic.

AFLDS Chief Science Officer Dr. Michael Yeadon responded to the revelations after perusing the Albania contract, saying it β€œlooks genuine.” He continued: β€œI know the basic anatomy of these agreements and nothing is missing that I’d expect to be present, and I’ve seen no clues that suggests it’s fake.”

Yeadon noted what he found β€œthe most stunning revelation,” citing the clause that stipulates β€œif there are any laws or regulations in your country under which Pfizer could be prosecuted, you agree to CHANGE THE LAW OR REGULATION to close that off.” (emphasis his)

In a Twitter thread that has since been removed except the first tweet in the thread, Biber explained the significance of the revealed agreements: β€œBecause the cost of developing contracts is very high and time consuming (legal review cycles), Pfizer, like all corporations, develop a standardized agreement template and use these agreements with relatively minor adjustments in different countries.

β€œThese agreements are confidential, but luckily one country did not protect the contract document well enough, so I managed to get a hold of a copy.

β€œAs you are about to see, there is a good reason why Pfizer was fighting to hide the details of these contracts.”

well, getting into the fine points....

"signature" has several meanings

  • can denote an individual's identify ( = literal)

  • can also denote an individual's trademark style or approach - the way they use an image, word, etc. ( = figurative)

  • or can emphasize info (espec when at the start or end of a passage) as critically important, especially when seen as part of an ongoing pattern ("look here, this is important!")

I would say that Q calling Alice & Wonderland ( or Alice in Wonderland) 'signatures' could mean any of these, need not refer to a particular person. The usage could also vary, depending on context.

Not denying any particular possibility but saying to make a definitive case would require more converging evidence, imo. That's all. When baking, i will sometimes ask for more evidence. Or if interesting (but unproven) notable as "Anon's theory on X"

Or post as a question and digg call (if the theory just lacks evidence that may be out there):

"Is X true? Call for a DIG"

But theories are theories - i always tend to be cautious with them.

I wasn't promoting the theory floating around from earlier, just pointing out that Q told us his signatures (plural with a list of examples) are important to upcoming (possibly past) events.

yes, if you check files and if it's ".exe" or unknown extension you do not execute it, then you are safe.

In general if an anon uploads an mp4 and you download it and even check that it's an mp4, it could still contain malware and trigger some buffer overflow, but that would be extremely rare. I'm using VLC media player. Do not use Windows media player in Windows, because it may have tons of security issues.

Good.

Windows is also trying to be smart sometimes, so better never use any Windows functionality directly with files downloaded from the internet. Always double check.

Most common ways are trojans called for example .mp4.exe and so. Windows still has that stupid default of hiding the last file extension, so if you got that "feature" enabled, you will see "so and so.mp4", although it's an .exe.

You NEED to disable that stupid "feature" to see what file it really is. And even then you can never be sure what Windows is doing. For some files Windows detects the file type internally and then does not act according to the file extension. It's a horible mess, surely intentionally - knowingly - as a feature for agencies.

They do all sorts of shit intentionally.

I have to work with their shit. Some is incompetency for sure though.

Take for example Microsoft Word. Not only do they change UI every few years, which is stupid already, especially now with their ribbon nonsense, that doesn't safe any space at all, but wastes space, but their VBA macro stuff is horrid.

Not only do they break things surely intentionally all the time, but for example when you used Windows APIs in their 32-bit Word, you had to write code for that, which worked. But now with their 64-bit you have to somehow add silly prefixes, otherwise it will not work anymore. And these prefixes are rejected by earlier versions of Word, which means adding these will break the macros for older versions of Word.

And then there are all the silly runtime errors. They can not even be bothered with checking syntax for all the subroutines, no, the subroutine has to get executed for them to check. And then there are all sorts of weird runtime errors regarding internal Windows functions, like for example printing. Some print drivers trigger runtime errors in VBA, it's that silly.

Furthermore the performance has gotten from bad to worse. I add tables using macros and before some table took a few seconds to create. Now in their latest few Word versions that takes now MINUTES. I had to rewrite the whole routine and it's still slow as fuck.

Even just calling an internal Word dialog and doing nothing in it that modifies the document takes ages. It's ridiculous. You would expect Word to get faster, instead everything gets slower and more buggy.

I think most is good info though, but you never know for sure. Some of their videos got removed by YT after some days. Sometimes there are re-uploads, I haven't checked if they remove content. They upload to facebook, and at least some videos are available on vimeo.

What is weird though is that facebook doesn't ban them and their videos.

i know they do stuff intentionally

MS word - always second-guessing the user

they think we're stupid, only reason they're dominant is MS put out all its early software with lots of bugs ( really'alpha' versions) - better products like wordperfect couldn't keep up because they refused to do that.

I'm not super technical but realized a long time ago that MS doesn't get better because they started with dirty code and never cleaned it up, just built more crap on top of it. you can't write long docs with Word, craps out really quite - and worse with graphics. Can't index past a certain point either, more break down.

Yes, that's what I really despise.

Programs trying to guess what I want to do, almost as bad as games trying to guess what the player is wanting to do.

I remember the time when OS/2 made by IBM had perfect Windows 3.11 compatibility and got into trouble because of that, because developers went "oh well, we could create OS/2 software, or we could create Windows 3.11 software and it will run in on Windows and OS/2". IBM shot themselves in the foot.

Microsoft always typically does not fix security bugs until a researcher found them. Not surprising surely keeping ones for agencies around.

But what is really silly is that "hide file extension"-option. They kept it since Windows 95 and it has always caused security issues. They refuse to change it.

Windows API is also horrible. I found a Windows API call that was introduced in Windows 2000 or XP, or a bit later, idk anymore, and it literally just called 2 other APIs, that was all. BUT when you used it, your program of course only worked since that release of Windows.

They pull that shit all the time. Do it with Word as well. Try to save files in .DOC / .XLS (the ole formats) and you typically get multiple dialogs asking you if you are sure. Always trying to force you using their new crap, and that will make older versions unable to use them, which in turn forces companies to "upgrade" all computers.

Another big joke is their OLE "in-place" support.

I'm using that for integration of Word into other programs.

And since Word 2007 there is a bug which causes it to go bananas when there are too many files inside a temporary word directory. In that case it will simply fail to work. You have to go into that temporary directory and delete temporary Word documents, and then it will work again. Stand alone Word will work fine, it's only the in-place functionality.

It seems Word calculates a temporary file name, but with a limited length, and when there are a few thousand files in that directory, the RNG spits out numbers that already exist, which will make it fail. It's like some amateur wrote that. They never clean it up. This issue wasn't there before, worked fine w/ Word 2000/XP/2003.

And nowadays of course system administrators typically have no clue about any of that. They will just reset the Windows profile and it will work again. It's a big buggy mess.

Also, they are respected - much harder to discredit than us ordinary mortals (espec "Q followers", kek).

We may not like the idea of medical doctors as a social elite, but might as well exploit it since it's the status quo.

World’s Biggest Pension Fund Cuts U.S. Bond Weighting by Record

Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund made a record cut to the weighting of Treasuries in its portfolio last fiscal year as the world’s safest asset led a global debt selloff.

GPIF, as the world’s biggest pension fund is known, slashed U.S. government bonds and bills to 35% of its foreign debt holdings in the 12 months through March 30, from 47% previously, according to an analysis by Bloomberg of the latest data.

The rebalancing comes with the fund now over a year into a new investment plan that’s reduced dependence on Japanese government bonds and shifted focus toward higher returning equities and overseas debt. Bloomberg’s analysis indicates the shift came largely through boosting holdings of European sovereign bonds, rather than selling Treasuries into a falling market. While GPIF offers little commentary on annual changes in its portfolios, even small adjustments reverberate through world markets given its total investments of about $1.7 trillion. Some strategists suggested the pension giant may have sought to trim Treasuries because of an extended period of underperformance. Others said this could have been incidental as it moved to reduce risk by aligning weightings with global indexes. To be sure, GPIF’s Treasury holdings had shot up in the year earlier, particularly in shorter maturities, just as it was mulling the new investment plan. This offers yet another reason -- that extra funds had only been parked temporarily in U.S. bills and notes as a substitute for cash before the fund settled on more permanent allocations. Whatever the motives may have been, GPIF made a 7.1% return on overseas debt last fiscal year, versus 5.4% for FTSE Russell’s World Government Bond Index excluding Japan, which it measures performance against. That represents the strongest result in four years versus the benchmark. FTSE Russell’s weighting for Treasuries was around 38% as of the end of June, including Japanese debt.

GPIF’s allocations for French, Italian, German and the U.K. bonds all increased by at least 1.7 percentage points in the 12 months through March. Purchases of these securities totaled 5.72 trillion yen ($52 billion) after adjusting for fluctuations in exchange rates and bond prices, Bloomberg’s analysis found. While the weighting for U.S. bonds fell, GPIF still added about 1.1 trillion yen worth of Treasuries to its holdings last fiscal year, after adjusting for currency fluctuations and bond returns, according to Bloomberg’s analysis. That took its hoard to about 17.5 trillion yen. Under its five-year investment plan that took effect in April 2020, GPIF aims to split its portfolio evenly between stocks and bonds, with these two asset classes then divided equally between domestic and foreign markets. Japanese government bonds previously had a 35% weighting in total investments.

The changes are paying off, with the return last fiscal year on bonds and stocks combined beating the fund’s composite benchmark for the first time in seven years. Still, it isn’t possible to fully assess how well GPIF timed its adjustments because the fund doesn’t disclose when during the 12-month period changes took place. There was enormous movement in bonds over the period, with 10-year Treasury yields largely moving sideways over the first half of the fund’s fiscal year before surging about 100 basis points to around 1.7% in the second half. The fund’s smaller peers in Japan, which often follow its lead, will scrutinize the latest changes. β€œGPIF has a large influence over the investment decisions of other pension funds in Japan,” said Ayako Sera, a market strategist at Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank Ltd. in Tokyo. β€œWhat it does has an impact in the market.” Looking at the more recent moves, Sera sees the attractiveness of Treasuries dropping even further. β€œCurrent yield levels don’t compensate investors enough to take foreign-exchange risks,” she said.

Treasury Department data show Japanese investors overall have sold a net $24 billion of U.S. government bonds since the start of the Asian nation’s current fiscal year on April 1. They offloaded $35 billion in the 12 months before that, the most in three years.
