Hmmm… I pray this is a signal that South China, er, I mean Australia, is waking up. I am not sure the [media org] covering the story is on our side, though, which makes me wonder. But let's hope the light is growing brighter worldwide:

"A Sydney law firm has advised Melburnians to defy the mandatory mask order announced by Premier Daniel Andrews on Sunday. Anyone living in metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire who is not wearing a mask or suitable face covering from 11.59pm on Wednesday will be handed a $200 fine.

The residents, currently living under "stage three lockdown COVID-19 restrictions", must wear one when they leave their homes for any of the four permissible reasons - food, exercise, work or education, and caregiving.

A Sydney law firm, G&B Lawyers, has advised Melburnians to defy the mandatory mask order announced by Premier Daniel Andrews on Sunday, posting to Facebook: “Get a $200 fine then elect to have it determined in Court. Every single one of you 6.359 million Victorians can challenge the fines in Court. The Victorian Government won’t fight you in Court. It is far too expensive for them to do so. Don’t wear a mask,” it wrote.

Soon after, the firm shared that it was looking to hire a criminal based lawyer that “must have experience in challenging fines in Courts”.

“Expect 6 million or so fines against individuals for not wearing a mask,” the post read.

Premier Daniel Andrews responded to those who had claimed the ruling was a “fundamental attack on peoples’ human rights”.

“I just remind every Victorian that nurses and doctors wear masks when they are treating you,” Andrews told reporters on Monday.

Premier Daniel Andrews has responded to those who have rejected plans for mandatory masks in Melbourne: “I don’t think it is too much to ask Victorians to wear a mask so they don’t finish up in the hospital or contribute to somebody else finishing up in the hospital.”
