Do not think that antitrust action against these companies will invite competition; it won't. What it will do is solidify their monopoly, prevent future competition and open enormous doors for regulatory capture and rent-seeking. THIS IS WHAT THEY WANT.

Republicans want to revisit the government-granted privilege of limited liability based on their "platform" status to ensure they are not abusing it, and to maintain freedom of speech on these platforms.
