Zimbabwe Threatens to Expel ‘Thug,’ ‘Uncle Tom’ U.S. Ambassador

A spokesman for the ruling leftist party of Zimbabwe, Patrick Chinamasa, insulted U.S. Ambassador to Zimbabwe Brian Nichols in a screed Monday in which he referred to the diplomat as a “thug” and an “Uncle Tom.”

The ruling Zanu-PF party — the party of late dictator Robert Mugabe — has panicked in response to dissidents organizing a major protest against President Emmerson Mnangagwa for July 31, arresting protest organizers and claiming that American officials were secretly behind any domestic discontent. Zimbabweans have expressed outrage for the past several months at Mnangagwa’s government for overtly participating in corruption, erupting particularly against the nation’s former health minister after his arrest for being involved in a $60 million corruption scheme.

Public unrest allowed the military to depose Mugabe in 2017 and return Mnangagwa from exile. Mnangagwa had fled the country after an internal power struggle with Mugabe’s wife, “Gucci” Grace.

Like much of Africa, the Chinese coronavirus pandemic has caught Zimbabwe’s weak healthcare infrastructure off guard, resulting in reports of health workers lacking sufficient supplies to do their jobs and suspicions that the virus is much more widespread in the national population than the low number of coronavirus tests would indicate. At press time, Zimbabwe’s government has documented 2,704 cases of Chinese coronavirus and 36 deaths.

Chinamasa unleashed on Nichols during a press conference Monday, blaming him and America for growing unrest in the country.

“Concerning the machinations and antics of the U.S. Ambassador Brian Nichols and a coterie of gangsters and mercenaries who are disguised as diplomats, I want to warn them and remind them that it is high time they get to know that Zimbabwe is a sovereign republic and we are a full sovereign State,” Chinamasa said, according to New Zimbabwe. “If he continues to undermine the republic, mobilizing, and funding disturbances coordinating violence and training in insurgency, our leadership will not hesitate to give him marching orders.”

“Diplomats should not behave like thugs and Brian Nichols is a thug,” Chinamasa added, warning “Don’t dare Zimbabwe. We are waiting for you. Zimbabwe is not one of the states or provinces that make the United States of America.”

Noble Files For Bankruptcy One Month After Rushing To Pay Executive Bonuses

Two weeks ago we wrote that "Executives Of Bankrupt Companies Made $131 Million In Bonuses This Year." Well, it time to add a few more million to it, courtesy of Noble Corporation's very generous shareholders.

Back on July 2, in an 8-K discussing the "Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers" Noble Corp. announced that:

In response to the ongoing significant market uncertainty, the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Noble Corporation plc, a public limited company incorporated under the laws of England and Wales (the “Company”), approved modifications to the Company’s overall compensation program on June 26, 2020 to more appropriately retain and motivate its key employees during this period of uncertainty and increased workload. The Board worked with compensation and other advisors to design and appropriately align the revised program.

This happened even though Bloomberg Javier Blas reminds us, just weeks earlier, in late May, Noble shareholders already opposed, "on an advisory basis", the compensation of the company’s named executive officers (75.3m votes against executive compensation, 74.1m votes in favor):

And let’s not forget that in late May, shareholders already opposed, “on an advisory basis”, the compensation of the company’s named executive officers (75.3m votes against executive compensation, 74.1m votes in favor) #OOTT

— Javier Blas (@JavierBlas) July 2, 2020

To many, this accelerated ramming of an exec bonus was the clearest sign yet that a bankruptcy was inevitable. And sure enough, fast forward to today when Noble, the giant offshore drilling contractor (not to be confused with Noble Energy), filed a prepackaged bankruptcy plan with which it hopes to cut more than $3.4 billion of debt after a crash in crude prices made undersea oil wells too expensive.

The Chapter 11 filing in Texas bankruptcy court would eliminate all of the company’s bond borrowings by swapping debt for equity, the company said in a statement.

Noteholders agreed to invest $200 million of new capital through second-lien notes, and Noble has lined up a $675 million secured revolving credit facility backed by current lenders including JPMorgan Chase & Co. Noble reported both assets and liabilities of $1 billion to $10 billion, according to the bankruptcy petition; the company expects to emerge from Chapter 11 before the end of the year, and will continue operating while in bankruptcy.

According to Bloomberg, the London-based company, one of the biggest owners of offshore rigs, failed to cope with a glut of floating drilling capacity that was a decade in the making, as exploration companies shifted focus to cheaper inland shale. The plunge in crude prices made any near-term recovery in offshore drilling even less probable.

Noble's filing adds to the more than 200 bankruptcies by oilfield service companies dating from 2015, according to the law firm, Haynes and Boone.

Syrian Christians in Aleppo, Victims of US-EU Sanctions

St. Elijah Maronite Cathedral in Aleppo re-opened after years of disuse due to the severe destruction the 18th century cathedral endured during battles in the period of 2012 to 2016.

Aleppo had been Syria’s largest city and its commercial and industrial hub before the conflict which began in March 2011. Syria is a secular nation, with the pre-war population ratio standing at about 80% Sunni Muslim, and the remaining divided between Christians, Jews, and other Muslim sects.

It is estimated that only 30,000 Christians remain in Aleppo, compared to a pre-war population of 180,000. Aleppo is now the second largest city after the capital, Damascus.

At least three extensive missile attacks and numerous smaller attacks left the cathedral in ruins. It suffered its worst damage in when terrorists following Radical Islam, which is a political ideology, attacked the Christian areas in an attempt to eradicate all Christians and their churches.

The Syrian Arab Army liberated East Aleppo in December 2016, with at least 34,000 armed terrorists and their families removed under a negotiated settlement which the UN oversaw.

“This victory represents a strategic change and a turning point in the war against terrorism on the one hand and a crushing blow to the terrorists’ project and their supporters on the other hand,” the Syrian army statement said.

The cathedral celebrated Christmas 2016 despite the utter devastation parishioners observed. Monsignor Joseph Tobji, Maronite Archbishop of Aleppo, gave several recent interviews in which he detailed the restoration of the cathedral. He recalled his first sight of the cathedral in its gravest condition, and marveled at how the cathedral had protected the neighborhood residents, and he said, “This house (the church) played a role in receiving the blows themselves in order to protect the surrounding civilians.”

Monsignor Joseph Tobji noted the obstacle to rebuilding churches, homes and lives in Syria is not confined to lack of funding only, but also to the US-EU sanctions which prevent any foreign company from selling any product to any Syrian company, including medical needs and the supplies fight against COVID-19.

“It’s a sign of hope and rebirth, not only in a material sense but for the entire community, despite the fact that the numbers of Christians continue to dwindle, due to extreme poverty linked to the sanctions imposed on the defenseless population,” he said.

Recently, the UN Secretary General Antonio Gutierrez has publicly urged the US and EU to lift sanctions on Syria in order to fight COVID-19.

He recalled the Christmas 2016 mass, and the moment during the service when the child Jesus was placed in the manger, which had been constructed from parts of the collapsed roof. He was deeply touched emotionally at the scene, as were other attendees who were crying, laughing, clapping and cheering with joy.

The rebuilding of the cathedral’s roof, which was made of wood, required Italian architects, Italian lumber, and a roofing expert from abroad to complete. The pontifical foundation, ‘Aid to the Church in Need’ (CAN), funded the laborious project.

US appeals court grants Ghislaine Maxwell’s request to delay release of ‘sex life’ deposition after major document dump

A US appeals court has ruled to hold back a deposition about the sex life of Ghislaine Maxwell, who is accused of aiding Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of underage girls, with her lawyers arguing it would make a fair trial “impossible.”

The order to temporarily withhold the sensitive testimony came on Friday, after the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals said it would delay the deposition’s release while it heard further arguments from Maxwell, who insisted the material could prejudice a jury against her unfairly.

The move comes less than 24 hours after the unsealing of hundreds of pages of documents linked to a civil lawsuit of Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who sued Maxwell for defamation in 2015. Though Giuffre settled the case two years later and its related files were placed under seal, another suit brought by conservative blogger Mike Cernovich and the Miami Herald last year saw those pages released on Thursday night.

COVID-19 Mortality Reporting is Masterfully Misrepresented – Method of Reporting Makes Current Mortality Appear Much Worse Than It Is

The individuals behind the reporting of the China coronavirus in the US are doing all they can to keep the virus alive. The media is all-in with constant negative over-the-top reporting. But the real culprits behind the effort to keep COVID-19 alive are the individuals reporting on the virus. Their methods are misleading if not fraudulent.

We’ve reported on the fraudulent reporting related to the China coronavirus in the past, for example:

  1. Deaths unrelated to the coronavirus like motorcycle accidents and gun shot wounds are reported as COVID-19 related deaths.

  1. Deaths where the China coronavirus is assumed to be related are counted as COVID-19 deaths, even though no formal evidence is obtained.

  1. Related to the above, only around 1% of all Coronavirus deaths have no additional co-morbidity. This means that nearly all of the COVID deaths had other symptoms along with the coronavirus. But when reporting on mortality of COVID-19, this is for the most part ignored.

  1. We also have noted that COVID-19 overall mirrors the mortality rates of a bad flu season. Based on current data the current mortality rates from the China coronavirus are within expectations for an above-average flu season with the exception of New York and New Jersey.

So based on all this information, why is it that the public is still so scared of the China coronavirus?

The answer is two fold. Of course, the main reason COVID-19 is still a major concern of Americans is because the MSM reports on it day in and day out with frightening stories of people catching it and dying from it.

The other reason relates to the manner in which data related to the China coronavirus is obtained and reported.

On March 17, 2020, we were the first to identify that the WHO and the WHO’s Director General Tedros were pushing fraudulent numbers regarding the expected mortality of the coronavirus. The WHO grossly over-stated the mortality rate of the virus by implying it would be 3.4% or at least 30 times more than the flu and COVID-19’s current mortality rate.

Knowing that the reporting on the China coronavirus was fraudulent before, we decided to look into the current reporting on mortality that appears to show the coronavirus mortality increasing dramatically over the past few weeks.

What we uncovered is that the reporting on deaths related to the coronavirus is misrepresented due to the method deaths are reported. Instead of reporting deaths by the date of death, the reporting used by the MSM is by date death is reported. Most deaths related to the coronavirus occurred weeks ago. The recent deaths reported include a large percent of deaths from weeks and even months ago. By reporting deaths on date reported, deaths that occurred weeks ago are reported this week, overstating this week’s deaths and understating prior period deaths.

Dr. Andrew Boston provides an example of what is currently going on in Florida that shows the number of deaths currently higher than they really are:

Roger Stone: Hillary Clinton, Short-tempered, Foul Mouthed, Self-centered, Entitled Psychopath, Is Lying About Me Covering up for Trump

By Roger Stone

I always knew that Hillary Clinton was a short-tempered, foul mouthed, self-centered, entitled psychopath but I have now reached the point where I fervently believe that her upset loss to the insurgent campaign of Donald Trump in 2016 has literally driven her insane.

Days after President Donald Trump commuted the sentence for my conviction in the rigged Soviet-style show trial I was subjected to by Robert Mueller’s dirty cops and the incredibly corrupt DC court system, Hillary Clinton was back recycling an entirely false left-wing conspiracy theory that was disproven by the very Mueller investigation that she cheered on.

The false narrative goes like this; “Roger Stone traded his silence about acts of misconduct or other inappropriate activity by Donald Trump in return for the commutation of his sentence. Stone even bragged about it.”

The problem with this claim is that it has no basis in fact or evidence to support it. In fact, it is contrary to what I have said repeatedly – that Mueller’s prosecutors pressured me to cooperate with their witchhunt and to bear false witness against the President regarding numerous communications between candidate Trump and me in 2016.

Seemingly oblivious to the fact that her campaign money-laundered payments to a West Coast law firm in order to pay for a phony dossier replete with false accusations against Donald Trump that was compiled with the assistance of Russian intelligence, Hillary now claims that the commutation of my sentence is part of a “continuing cover-up”.

She also claims that I “threatened Trump both privately and publicly that I would speak out about what we actually did during the 2016 election” and that Trump “used the awesome power of commutation…. to basically shut up Roger Stone so that Roger Stone would not spill any more beans about what actually happened and how much Donald Trump actually knew”.

MSNBC host Joy Reid brainlessly agreed with this whopper by Hillary. Reid has reported in the past that I advised the President to embrace Russia in 2016 – a baseless and false assertion.

Hillary is not alone in making these baseless accusations.

Since the day of my commutation, Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler and the most corrupt prosecutor in US history, Andrew Weisman, have all repeated this bogus claim. They all do so cleverly – taking my public statements in which I said repeatedly that the Mueller prosecutors wanted me to “come clean” and “confess” and offer false testimony against the President that could then be used as an article of impeachment.

In fact, on March 14, 2019, an assistant US Attorney on the Mueller team met privately with one of my attorneys to propose my cooperation in return for unspecified leniency in my sentence.

On the heels of all of these unsupportable claims – none of which Mueller, with his unlimited budget and extraordinary investigative authority, could find – come literally dozens of op-ed pieces by left-wing law professors claiming that the commutation of my sentence by the President is flawed because he, in essence, used his commutation to cover up his own illegal acts.

Given that there is no evidence or proof of this, any lawyer who writes this should be disbarred. But then liberals never let facts get in the way of a good left-wing conspiracy theory.

American Citizen Gunned Down In Pakistan Courtroom During 'Blasphemy' Trial

An American citizen who was being tried in a Pakistani court on charges of blasphemy has been gunned down and murdered in open court by a young man seeking 'vengeance' over profaning the name of Muhammad.

Local media describes the shooting happened in a crowded courtroom Wednesday. US national Tahir Ahmed Naseem, 47, had been in Pakistani custody since 2018, charged under the country's strict blasphemy laws. Specially he stood accused of "defiling the sacred name of the Holy Prophet Muhammad" after allegedly claiming to he was a messiah sent by God in social media messages, according to Reuters.

Naseem was shot six times by a young man who smuggled a gun into the court, after protests in the region led by hardline Islamists over the case had already been raging. Naseem died at the scene.

"As Naseem’s arraignment began before the judge, a young man in the room pulled out a handgun and shot him in the head, officials and witnesses said. The young man was arrested on the spot," Reuters reports.

The whole incident, as well as clearly lax security, has outraged the US embassy. “We urge Pakistan to take immediate action and pursue reforms that will prevent such a shameful tragedy from happening again,” the US State Department said in a tweet.

We extend our condolences to the family of Tahir Naseem, the American citizen who was killed today inside a courtroom in Pakistan. We urge Pakistan to take immediate action and pursue reforms that will prevent such a shameful tragedy from happening again.

— State_SCA (@State_SCA) July 30, 2020

The US State Department had also said officials were "shocked, saddened, and outraged" by Naseem's death. Per CNN:

The statement said that Naseem had been "lured to Pakistan from his home in Illinois by individuals who then used Pakistan's blasphemy laws to entrap him."

Though we wonder why more pressure and action apparently wasn't applied even before the bloody courtroom killing.

Latif Afridi of Peshawar High Court Bar Association subsequently told Reuters of the gunman: “The young man who shot him had no remorse, and said he saw the Prophet Muhammad in a dream the night before.”

Supreme Court hands Trump a victory, says border wall construction can continue with Department of Defense funds

The court says construction will continue but so will the lawsuit

The Trump administration prevailed at the Supreme Court in a lawsuit claiming that the president could not divert funds from the Pentagon in order to pay for the construction of the wall at the southern border.

The court ruled by a 5-4 vote on Friday that construction could continue on the wall during the pendency of the lawsuit as it proceeds through the court system.

The lawsuit will be taken up eventually for consideration by the Supreme Court, but a final decision is not likely to be made before the election is completed in November.

Justice Stephen Breyer said in his dissent to the order that it would likely serve as a final judgment.

"The Court's decision to let construction continue nevertheless I fear, may operate, in effect, as a final judgment," said Breyer.

The lawsuit was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Sierra Club. The ACLU responded to the ruling in a statement saying that it will also seek for the parts of the border wall built with the diverted funds to be destroyed.

"The fight continues. The administration has admitted that the wall can be taken down if we ultimately prevail, and we will hold them to their word and seek the removal of every mile of unlawful wall built," they tweeted.

The fight continues. The administration has admitted that the wall can be taken down if we ultimately prevail, and… https://t.co/4qjpNb1Jnz

— ACLU (@ACLU)1596232347.0

"Every lower court to consider the question has ruled President Trump's border wall illegal, and the Supreme Court's temporary order does not decide the case. We'll be back before the Supreme Court soon to put a stop to Trump's xenophobic border wall once and for all," they added in a second tweet.

The lawsuit applied to $2.5 billion that the president diverted from Department of Defense funding for the border wall.

The construction of the border wall was a large part of the president's campaign for election in 2016, while on the other end of the political spectrum, Democrats have claimed that a border wall is just an expression of xenophobia and racism.

While the president has argued that a border wall is necessary to more efficiently enforce immigration law, in recent months the coronavirus pandemic has also spurred supporters of the wall to point to reports of the virus spreading through illegal immigration.

House Majority: Alaska Rep. Gary Knopp killed in plane crash

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Alaska state Rep. Gary Knopp was killed in a mid-air collision of two planes near Soldotna on Friday, the Alaska House Majority said in a statement.

Alaska State Troopers would not confirm Knopp’s death beyond saying the mid-air collision near the airport in Soldotna was a fatal crash.

The two planes collided near the Soldotna Airport Friday morning, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement. Wreckage came down near Sterling Highway, briefly closing the thoroughfare.

Officials have not released how many people were on board the two planes or the extent of injuries.

Rita Geller, who works at a golf course near the airport, said she started running when she heard the planes hit, and watched one fall to the ground,

“I ran to more of a clearing and basically saw it explode,” she told the Anchorage Daily News. “The engine, things were flying off of it. I didn’t see the second plane, but I saw a lot of debris flying around. It was horrific. It was just like 9/11.”

Tributes began pouring for Knopp soon after the news broke. Gov. Mike Dunleavy immediately ordered U.S. and state flags to be lowered to half staff and to remain in that position of honor until sunset Monday.

“The first lady and I wish to express our heartfelt condolences to Rep. Knopp’s family as they mourn his untimely passing,” Dunleavy said in a statement. “Throughout his 42 years on the Kenai Peninsula, Gary became well known as an avid outdoorsman, a skilled pilot, and a dedicated public servant. His presence will no doubt be missed by those he faithfully served.”

House Speaker Bryce Edgmon of Dillingham said he was shocked and devastated upon hearing of Knopp’s death. “Gary was a one-of-a-kind leader and a true Alaskan who worked tirelessly for his district in the Legislature. He will be missed by many.”

Senate President Cathy Giessel, a Republican from Anchorage, called it “a heart-breaking tragedy. More than a legislator, Gary Knopp was a husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. He will be tremendously missed.”

Rep. Louise Stutes of Kodiak said Knopp was not only a colleague, but a close friend. “I’m heartbroken and devastated, and thoughts are with Gary’s wife, Helen, and his entire family.”
