Anons, just had a horrible experience at my local supermarket and didn't wear a mask because it is my understanding that if you have a medical condition you don't have to wear a mask. I walked in and started shopping and then about 10 min in, I hear "hey sir!!!" in a real disapproving "get over here now" kind of voice. I keep walking and he says HEY YOU! and I keep walking and finally he has to run to get ahead of me and says "didn't you hear me!" and i politely say "no." And he says you have to go out now unless you have a mask!" He's acting in an intimidating gang member kind of disrespectful way and I politely say "I have a medical condition." He makes a huge "what the F***!" kind of facial expression and then goes "PSSSHAWWW!" sound and storms off. I finish shopping and the checkout girl says I can't check you out if you don't have a mask. Again I say "medical condition" she goes "NOOO!" I repeat it and she goes to the manager who says no way. I say "that's unconstitutional" and he just looks down shaking his head saying that's the law. I pull out a mask put it on and she checks me out. I ask that the manager double check the policy for those with medical conditions and that I'd call later. He said "I'm sure they'll say what I said." I got home called 3 constitutional lawyers in the same city and spoke to 2. Both said there's no case here and we don't take cases like that. One said “I wouldn’t even let you in our office without a mask.” I said “even with a medical condition?” and she said well then we’d work on the phone but we would never take a case such as this.” I had a hunch that they hate Trump and are therefore very pro-mask so I inquired further and they both said in their own ways, "we have a President who doesn't know how to lead and so we all need to wear masks to stop this virus." So disconcerting. I hate to say it but I really hate these never-Trumpers. I don't want to hang with any of my old friends who hate Trump. I think Trump is a wonderful man, saving America and the world. They don't. Thanks for letting me vent, anons. You're all I've got who understand this stuff. Love you all.

Thanks for the advice, I was wondering how to find a lawyer who isn't a pro-mask, never Trumper! I forgot that Obama was a Constitutional lawyer, and to think that bin talal funded his education!

Thanks, at first, I thought I should just leave but this was such a large supermarket chain that I don't think any of the employees would have cared in the least.

Thanks for the advice. I really felt like this was from start to finish, with all three employees, one big bullying session. The vibe I got was that they weren't scared about a virus but just wanted to slap a Trump supporter on the wrist. Did I mention I had a Space Force shirt on. I should have worn my MAGA hat but I didn't have it with me. Everyday, I feel like this is becoming more and more clear that this is a fight between good and evil.

It's interesting that you say that because there are a lot of homeless with mental disabilities that shop there. I have a feeling they give those folks a pass.

That's a good question… The manager at this particular store would just say "The city of ____ has a mandatory mask rule." But it's like Q says, this is not about a virus, this is about the election. And I think that all three of those employees know that on some level, that's why they were so mean spirited about it. If they were like "Oh hey! Woah, please put your mask on, I can't get sick!" I would've done it sensing their sincerity, but there was none of that here. It was all scowls, mean expressions, Psshhhh sounds and No's.

Exactly, they also seem to enforcing this mask rule with a kind of sadism, as if they're enjoying reprimanding people as opposed to just following the rules that they might not agree with. You can sense that. It's thick in the air when they do it. There's definitely no whispered "sorry to have to do this but…"
