"Consider this:

Thirty-nine percent of American households report owning at least one gun. To put that in context, thatโ€™s more than the number of households that own a cat, while just slightly below the number of households that own a dog (35 and 44 percent, respectively, says the ASPCA). That is just about double the number of households that includes two married parents with children, according the Census Bureau figures from 2011 and 2012.1

As of 2017, there are 126.22 million "households" in the USA. Thirty-nine percent of that is 49.23 million households, each with at least one firearm.

In one sense, that makes the citizens of the United States members of what is arguably the largest private army in the world."

Money laundering in construction projects

"Construction projects are susceptible to money launderings, and several judicial cases have disclosed why and how construction projects favour money laundering. For example, they are often speculative, involve large sums of money, and it is relatively easy to inflate their costs due to apparently poor delivery performance.

Furthermore, the construction projects are organised in multi-layered contractual transactions and are intensive human activities; these characteristics make it possible to structure and disperse large sums of money into the economy through multiple people and organisations."

Not to mention all the bribery to regulating officials and unions that goes on.
