The banks are cutting credit for loans in order to cover their own loan loss provisions. The value of collateral is in the toilette because of multiple defaults for loans and commercial real estate. Because of lockdown - stores closing, no one working. People cannot pay their loans. This hits commercial enterprises big.
If they don't pay, the banks go bust. That's what's happening and why the banks are hanging onto every penny.
Anyone who spends their stimulus on toys deserves to be homeless and broke.
