Titanic, the "gift" that kept on giving. More than just the Fed, I think:

You have to wonder what might have been if Westinghouse/Tesla had been able to continue. And why are both of these men still not given their due in history? Did Morgan contribute to the financial troubles of Westinghouse? If Westinghouse had succeeded with Tesla, what would the world look like today?

Westinghouse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BUpF__h-IY

(About Westinghouse, who we hear little of now, genius in his own right. And how he treated employees probably wasn't favored at the time. Loyalty from them to the end as you will see if you stick out the whole documentary)

Tesla helps Westinghouse out of one pickle, if you read this history, by infamously tearing up the royalty contract (I don't know about the veracity of this site):

But Westinghouse is finally, maybe, "taken out":

Wonder if, like now with medicine/pharmaceuticals/oil, TPTB like J.P. Morgan, orchestrated the outcome?

Again, from the Tesla time line site:

http://teslacommunity.com/page/tesla-time-line#.W2pAGsJry70

"1912, April 14, Tesla was embroiled in other problems at the time, but when Marconi was actually awarded the Nobel Prize in 1911, Tesla was furious. Unfortunately, friend and investor to Tesla, John Jacob Astor and his wife were aboard the “Titanic”, which began to sink after colliding with an iceberg. Mr. Astor was able to help his wife into a lifeboat, but was unable to join her. His body was found a few days later and is buried in Trinity Church Cemetery in New York."

George Westinghouse dies in New York City at the age of 67. As a Civil War Veteran, he was buried in Section 2 of Arlington National Cemetery, along with his wife Marguerite, who survived him by three months. Later to be called “The Perfect Partnership” there is little doubt about the impact Westinghouse and Tesla had upon the world."

(Site gives different dates for Westinghouse's death)

Didn't connect Astor with Tesla and Titanic before.

Other interesting tangentially connected, perhaps:

Thanks, I did.

What I'm trying to say is look past how this set the Fed up. It took away a potential Tesla supporter. There was another. Tesla and Westinghouse were working together at one point. Westinghouse was a genius in his own right and had the money. Had. The set up for the Fed I think also destroyed Westinghouse and the support he might have given Tesla. Call the Titanic a two for one deal. (Or more, who knows?) Where would we be now if that duo hadn't been curtailed? Did Morgan give Tesla enough rope to get some of Tesla's ideas, etc., then cut him off? Which helped keep us in the dark, literally, of technology that might have been available much earlier on.

And wasn't Morgan somehow involved in the shipping company that built the Titanic?
