According to this book, the Jesuits have a plan to take over the world. Or the Vatican at least. Secret meetings overheard by Leone, a nineteen year-old Jesuit Novice, in the mid 1830s, led to this book being written. With an extensive preface written by M. Victor Considerant, who was a member of the National Assembly Of France, this book delves into the secret world of the Jesuits. As an account of someone who was a member of the order, it is certainly a very interesting book.

Samuel F. B. Morse was the co-inventor of the Morse Code. He was also pro slavery, anti-Catholic and anti-immigration. This book was originally a series of articles which were published in the New York Observer (of which his brother was the editor) in the mid-1800's. He basically tried to scare the people of America into seeing Catholics as some massive threat which had to be stopped. He called the Popery, 'a system of the darkest political intrigue and despotism, cloaking itself to avoid attack under the sacred name of religion'. He also believed that the Austrian Government was trying to control America.
I keep it simple and find that the 40,000 foot view a pretty accurate way to assess the overall situation.
