Execution date set for East Texas man who beat toddler with a hammer in alleged exorcism

An East Texas man has received an execution date for the brutal murder of a toddler when he was just 18.

30-year-old Blaine Milam, of Henderson, is set to die January 21, 2021, for the murder of Amora Carson back in 2008. Carson was his girlfriend’s daughter and was just 13 months old at the time of her death.

Investigators found that the pair had beaten Amora to death with a hammer in an alleged exorcism and her body was found riddled with bite marks.

Marijuana use during pregnancy could increase baby's risk of autism, study suggests

Researchers analyzed data from every birth in Ontario, Canada, between 2007 and 2012.

Researchers from The Ottawa Hospital found that women who used marijuana during pregnancy were 1.5 times more likely to have a child with autism.

Of the more than half a million cases involved in the study, researchers specifically looked at 2,200 women who reported using only cannabis during pregnancy without mixing it with tobacco, alcohol or opioids.

Researchers noted they only found an association between using cannabis during pregnancy and an increased risk of autism.
