The Justice Department on Thursday moved to drop its case against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, in a stunning development that comes after internal memos were released raising serious questions about the nature of the investigation that led to Flynn’s late 2017 guilty plea of lying to the FBI.

The announcement came in a court filing “after a considered review of all the facts and circumstances of this case, including newly discovered and disclosed information,” as the department put it. DOJ officials said they concluded that Flynn’s interview by the FBI was “untethered to, and unjustified by, the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into Mr. Flynn” and that the interview was “conducted without any legitimate investigative basis.”

Later Thursday afternoon, Flynn tweeted a video of his grandson reciting The Pledge of Allegiance, along with the message, “and JUSTICE for ALL.”

Russia may be responsible for the deadly unrest in American cities, CNN host Dana Bash has implied during an interview with Democrats’ top Russiagate figure, Adam Schiff, proving that red-baiting never goes out of vogue.

Schiff, the chair of the House Intelligence Committee, came to CNN for a round of Trump-bashing over the President’s remarks on how Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Ratcliffe “got tired of” classified information being leaking from Congress. The DNI wrote last week to the California representative and his Senate counterpart, Marco Rubio, that his office will be informing lawmakers on election security through written reports rather than in-person briefings.

During the interview Schiff took time to denounce the President for what he described as an attempt to hide “the fact that the Russians are helping Donald Trump again” and declared that US intel “belongs to the American people”. With the election-meddling Ruskie bad guys introduced into the conversation, host Dana Bash mused on what other evil deeds they may be up to.

There were shooting deaths in Kenosha, Wisconsin and Portland, Oregon amid continued race protests in those cities, she said. “Do you have any reason to believe that Russia is trying to fuel some of the civil unrest in these cities via social media or other methods?” she wondered.

Schiff, who played a leading role in peddling the theory that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 election, obliged to confirm that yes, the Russians “are once again doing their best in social media, in the overt media and other means to grow this division again.”

Blaming Russia for racial problems in the US is a time-honored tradition, so the CNN-Schiff duet hardly discovered new territory there. And the fact that the collusion theory crumbled after the Robert Mueller investigation failed to find evidence of it doesn’t seem to hurt his credibility with the sympathetic media.

High Ranking Cop Admits to Running ‘Sadistic’ Child Porn Ring on Gov’t Network, While On Duty

Dallas, TX — The taxpayers of Dallas, Texas may want to request a refund this week after finding out that they have been paying for a pedophile to distribute child porn to other disgusting pedophiles online. This high level cop’s entire operation was conducted on duty, on official government computers, and also on Google.

According to federal court documents, Sr. Cpl. Daniel Lee Collins just pleaded guilty to uploading sexual photos of underage girls to various Google accounts using the City of Dallas internet network, according to the Department of Justice.

U.S. Attorney Erin Nealy Cox stated that Daniel Lee Collins, 35, a former senior corporal, pleaded guilty to the crimes on Friday morning. The top cop further admitted he knew the images depicted actual minors, including a nude prepubescent female, and portrayed “sadistic or masochistic conduct.”

According to the federal criminal complaint, Collins, a 35-year-old senior corporal assigned to Dallas Police Department’s Auto Theft Unit, was charged via criminal complaint with transportation of child pornography.

“Law enforcement officers take an oath to protect and serve,” said Cox. “This defendant allegedly undermined that vow, preying upon our most vulnerable. The Department of Justice will not tolerate the exploitation of children – especially by our public servants.”

As TFTP reported at the time, the investigation began with a tip to the the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in May and another in June. The images were being uploaded from multiple accounts held by Collins. Google flagged the images – one uploaded on May 13 to an account tagged “Dan Collins” and two more uploaded on June 29 to an account tagged “John Smith.”

An IT expert in Dallas later traced the IP addresses for the uploads and found them to be coming from the City of Dallas internet network. Investigators determined that the same Google accounts were also accessed from Collin’s residence, according to the federal complaint.

In an interview with federal agents, Collins admitted to accessing the Google accounts and saving child pornography, according to court documents.

Four Young Leftists Sentenced in Court After Hurling Chlorine Bomb at Police Officer, Nearly Killing Him and Detonating 7 Other Bombs

Four young violent leftists were sentenced last week on charges they created a road hazard as a stationary target. Then the young leftists hurled a chlorine bomb at the police officer when he stop to clear the road.

Sentencing was held on August 26, 2020 for three of four men convicted of throwing a chlorine bomb at an Arvada Police officer as he attempted to clear a road hazard. The hazard was built by the defendants to create a stationary target for their bombs.

On April 7, 2019 at 10:00 p.m., Arvada police received a call from a citizen regarding a road hazard at 72nd and Beech Street. The Officer arrived to find that street signs had been pulled out of ground and stacked in middle of the road, then plastic wrap had been strung across the road. The Officer and the citizen began to attempt to clear the road barricade when a plastic bottle was thrown and landed near the Officer. He overheard someone yell obscenities at him. When the bottle hit the ground it began releasing heavy chlorine gas. The Officer began coughing, became nauseous, lost consciousness, and fell to the ground. Other officers and paramedics arrived and the Officer was transported to the hospital.

They detonated at least seven additional incendiary devices in the area.

Arvada Police officers addressed the judge at the sentencing hearing, describing the impact this had on the officer, the entire department, and the community. During the immediate search for the offenders, a Code Red was issued for a one-mile radius in Arvada.

The officer suffered serious pulmonary damage and spent months going to medical appointments and missing work and continues to suffer the effects of the chlorine gas.

“These men set up an ambush for police. When the first Arvada officer arrived to clear away the road hazard, he was a fixed target for their toxic chemical bombs,” said DA Pete Weir, “These young men purchased the chemicals and plastic bottles at Walmart, mixed the bombs and then set up their targets for ambush. The impact on the law enforcement community has been enormous.”

Peace deal signed by Sudan & rebel groups after 17 years of conflict

The government of Sudan and an alliance of major rebel groups have signed a long-awaited peace agreement. It is hoped it will end the protracted armed conflict, which has claimed some 300,000 lives in the African nation.

The signing ceremony in Juba, the capital of neighboring South Sudan, took place on Monday, two days after the terms of the agreement were finalized. The host nation helped mediate the peace talks, which started last year.

The peace agreement covers major issues like security, land ownership, power sharing and rehoming of refugees. Some 2.5 million people have been displaced since the conflict between predominantly Arab government forces and non-Arab rebels in the western Darfur region erupted in 2003, according to the UN. An estimated 300,000 people have been killed during the fighting.

The rebel alliance, which signed the deal, includes groups from the South Kordofan and Blue Nile regions, which are tied to a larger civil war in Sudan. The provinces remained under Sudanese sovereignty when the non-Arab part of the country split in 2011 to form sovereign South Sudan.

The peace talks were made possible by the downfall of Sudan’s long-time strongman leader Omar al-Bashir, who was ousted in April last year after staying in power for two decades. The transitional government made negotiations with the rebels one of its top priorities.

There were previous attempts to end the Sudanese conflict, with one peace accord signed in Nigeria in 2006 and another one in Qatar in 2010, both of which later collapsed.

Lebanese president designates Ambassador to Germany Mustapha Adib as new prime minister

Lebanese President Michel Aoun has designated Mustapha Adib as the new PM, tasking him with forming a new cabinet, after the previous government quit in the wake of the devastating explosion at the Beirut port.

Senior diplomat Adib was tapped as the new PM after he managed to secure the support of the majority in parliament. Adib has been Lebanese ambassador to Germany since July 2013, as well as an adviser to a former PM in the early 2010s.

Shortly after his designation, Adib called for the formation of a new government in record time, as well as for the immediate launch of reforms needed for an agreement for with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

“The opportunity for our country is small,” Adib stressed.

The previous Lebanese government, led by Hassan Diab, resigned shortly after the devastating blast that rocked the port of the country’s capital on August 4. The explosion killed at least 190 people, injuring thousands more and caused widespread destruction across Beirut, while its port was effectively leveled. The explosion was caused by a massive haul of ammonium nitrate fertilizer that had been improperly stored at the port for years after it was seized from a cargo vessel.

Adib’s designation comes just a day ahead of French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit. Last week, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian issued a warning to Lebanon, stating it might “disappear” altogether if a new government is not formed immediately.

Paris has become increasingly involved in the political life of its former protectorate after the port blast, and it’s Macron's second visit to the country in less than a month. France’s president has rallied a host of donors ready to help Lebanon with the aftermath of the blast – if the country conducts all the reforms required by the international sponsors.

China Arrests High Profile Australian Citizen & State TV Anchor Under Mysterious Circumstances

In another huge shot across the bow in the ongoing tit-for-tat media and journalism ban between China and the West, a high-profile Australian television anchor has been detained by authorities in Beijing.

Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne confirmed Monday that Cheng Lei, who it turns out is a veteran news anchor for the Chinese government's English news channel, CGTN, is being prevented from returning to her home country. She's been detained and placed in secured isolation for an indeterminate amount of time.

"The Australian Government has been informed that an Australian citizen, Ms Cheng Lei, has been detained in China," the Australian government statement said. "Formal notification was received on 14th of August from Chinese authorities of her detention," it continued, though news of her detention is only now being reported via Australia's ABC.

"Australian officials had an initial consular visit with Ms Cheng at a detention facility via video link on 27th of August and will continue to provide assistance and support to her and her family," it continued.

It was friends and colleagues who first noticed she was "missing" as she didn't return messages over a period of weeks. She also hadn't appeared on her most recent show, CGTN’s Global Business, after long being one of its premier hosts.

Strongly suggesting that Lei could actually be under suspicion of spying or passing sensitive information to the Australian government, or other serious breach of her work for state-run CGTN, her employment profile page detailing eight years of accomplishments for CGTN has been taken down and all videos of her previous stories have been scrubbed.

Chinese authorities have indicated she's currently held in "residential surveillance at a designated location", ABC notes.

Another Australian citizen and news correspondent, Yang Hengjun, had previously been detained January 2019, and has reportedly yet to be provided access to his lawyers.

Louisiana Food Banks Overwhelmed As Recession And Hurricane Spikes Demand

Food banks were already under stress before Hurricane Laura devastated parts of southern Louisiana last week. Many of these charities, were providing meal assistance to hungry families affected by the virus-induced downturn in the economy. Now they must provide meals for people who have lost their homes because of the natural disaster.

"It's literally one crisis on top of another," Jay Vise, the director of communications and marketing of Second Harvest Food Bank, told 4WWL New Orleans, who referred to the increasing demand seen at his food bank.

"It's impossible for us to help everybody and that's what hurts the most, you meet someone that's been blown out of their home and living in a tent and they're so grateful and thankful for something that's been donated to us to give them a meal," Vise said.

The combination of depressionary unemployment and a natural disaster in the state could result in further food bank stress as they might have to choose between who gets fed and who doesn't.

Chicago Sees At Least 50 People Shot, 10 Killed As City Grapples With Spike In Gun Violence

At least 50 people were shot and 10 of those shot were killed over the weekend in Chicago, including two police officers who were injured during a traffic stop gone wrong.

The two Chicago police officers were shot Sunday during an arrest, according to ABC7 Chicago. Officers were conducting a traffic stop when they saw a gun in the backseat of the car. Officers ordered the suspect to get out of the car, but he reportedly didn’t comply. The officers then broke the car window to try and arrest the suspect. However, a struggle ensued and the suspect fired multiple shots, hitting both officers per ABC7.

Both officers are in stable condition, with one officer having been shot in the chest, side and back and the other having been shot in the shoulder and chest.

Chicago Democratic Mayor Lori Lightfoot confirmed the suspect was in custody in a Sunday tweet.

Four people were killed on Sunday, including 31-year-old Devon Welsh who was eating at Lumes Pancake House when a drive-by shooting occurred, according to the Chicago Sun Times. Welsh was struck multiple times after an SUV pulled up and began firing. Police believe Welsh was the intended target.

Four others were also hit during the shooting, with two individuals shot in their legs, another individual shot in the foot and a fourth individual shot in the abdomen and buttocks. All are reported to be in stable condition.

Oregon Governor Blames ‘Armed White Supremacists’ for Violence

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown (D) blamed “right-wing vigilantes” and “armed white supremacists” for the bloodshed in the city of Portland during a Sunday press release.

Brown called to stop the “cycle of violence” during the press release, which announced additional law enforcement resources for the city of Portland, but did not recognize the lawless acts of violence committed by protesters on a nightly basis, such as targeting police with commercial-grade fireworks, rocks, and lasers, and vandalizing federal buildings. Instead, she berated “armed right-wing vigilantes” and specifically targeted the “Patriot Prayer” group, which saw an alleged member shot and killed in Portland on Saturday.

“The right-wing group Patriot Prayer and self-proclaimed militia members drove into downtown Portland last night, armed and looking for a fight. Every Oregonian has the right to freely express their views without fear of deadly violence,” Brown said, vowing that she will “not allow Patriot Prayer and armed white supremacists to bring more bloodshed to our streets.”

“Time and again, from Charlottesville to Kenosha to Portland, we have seen the tragic outcome when armed right-wing vigilantes take matters into their own hands,” Brown said. “Gun violence is never, ever the answer.”

“Change will not come overnight, and, as we have seen in these last months, it does not come easily either. But we are building a more just future,” she continued, promising to “bring all voices to the table to help end the nightly confrontations.”

“But that will only come if we commit ourselves to do the hard work to bring about real change and racial justice,” she added.

The victim of Saturday’s fatal shooting, which occurred after a pro-Trump caravan moved through the city, is reported to be Aaron “Jay” Danielson, who was reportedly wearing a Patriot Prayer hat.

The Oregonian reported that police are investigating 48-year-old Michael Forest Reinoehl as a suspect in the fatal shooting. Reinoehl is an alleged Black Lives Member supporter who once identified himself on social media as “100% ANTIFA all the way.” According to reports, Reinoehl is believed to have been participating in the riots that have dominated Portland since May 25 and was arrested on weapons charges, but released earlier this year.

“On July 5 at one of the demonstrations, Reinoehl was cited at 2:10 a.m. in the 700 block of Southwest Main Street on allegations of possessing a loaded gun in a public place, resisting arrest and interfering with police,” the Oregonian reported.

Devin Nunes: Adam Schiff Using Intel Committee Investigation of Rioters to Target Trump

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) ranking member Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) told Breitbart News exclusively this weekend that his committee’s chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has been running a thus-far-unreported investigation into the Trump administration’s response to violence in American cities.

Asked if Schiff should hold hearings on the threats to the country on display in American cities and outside the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Washington, DC, Nunes revealed that Schiff has been plotting to hold hearings on this matter. The difference, however, is Schiff’s hearings are actually going to target President Donald Trump and his administration’s efforts to secure order in places like Portland, and law enforcement and national security officials trying to restore law and order in riotous Democrat cities, rather than targeting the people behind the violence, looting, rioting, chaos, and mayhem.

“It’s funny you should say that — they are actually going to have, they’re running an investigation into this,” Nunes said on Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel. “It hasn’t gotten too much coverage yet. They’re running an investigation from the Intelligence Committee, which has become the impeachment committee, on the situation that happened up in Seattle and Portland. But guess what? They’re running the investigation to see what federal assets did the Trump administration use and was it legal or not to keep the peace in the Pacific Northwest. So they are going to hold hearings, but they’re basically holding hearings to condemn the Trump administration for trying to save Americans’ lives and save Americans’ property and save us from all this looting and rioting and trying to keep under somewhat of some civil discourse here. So, they’re having hearings alright, but for the opposite reason.”

Asked if Schiff’s efforts to target with the Intelligence Committee the law enforcement community’s push to restore order instead of the people disrupting American communities and causing the mayhem in the first place actually assists those creating the chaos, Nunes said that Schiff has perverted the purpose of the Intelligence Committee.

“Essentially what they’re doing is the Department of Homeland Security, which Trump deployed obviously to protect the federal courthouse and other federal areas, they’re running an investigation into the Department of Homeland Security from the House Intelligence Committee which once again the irony of all of that is the House Intelligence Committee is supposed to be bipartisan,” Nunes said. “It’s supposed to have our focus on things like China, Russia, North Korea, counter-intelligence, and terrorism. But that’s clearly not what they’re after. What they’re doing is, first of all, they impeached the president using the Intelligence Committee but if that’s not enough here you have assets that the president is trying to use to help protect the government and federal property and they are now running an investigation into whether or not the president properly used that equipment or not to help aid in protecting federal property.”

NPR Promotes Author’s Defense of Looting as ‘Imaginative Sense of Freedom and Pleasure’

The author of a new book titled In Defense of Looting described to NPR in an interview published Thursday that looting is a means to provide violent rioters who destroy the property of others with “an imaginative sense of freedom and pleasure.”

Vicky Osterweil justified the violent rioters who smash store windows and steal the property of store owners are simply engaging looting as a means to address the unequal distribution of wealth.

According to NPR, Osterweil somehow differentiates between the “looting” she says she is “defending,” i.e., “the mass expropriation of property, mass shoplifting during a moment of upheaval or riot,” and “any situation in which property is stolen by force.”

Without any pushback from NPR, Osterweil said looting demonstrates how the world is “unjust” and it “attacks the history of whiteness and white supremacy”:

And the reason that the world is organized that way, obviously, is for the profit of the people who own the stores and the factories. So you get to the heart of that property relation, and demonstrate that without police and without state oppression, we can have things for free.

“One of the ones that’s been very powerful, that’s both been used by Donald Trump and Democrats, has been the outside agitator myth, that the people doing the riots are coming from the outside,” she said. “This is a classic. This one goes back to slavery, when plantation owners would claim that it was Freedmen and Yankees coming South and giving the enslaved these crazy ideas—that they were real human beings—and that’s why they revolted.”

Osterweil also said progressives who criticize the violent riots have bought into the premise that the civil rights movement of the 1960s was “nonviolent.”

“Nonviolence emerged in the ’50s and ’60s during the civil rights movement, [in part] as a way to appeal to Northern liberals,” she told NPR. “When it did work, like with the lunch counter sit-ins, it worked because Northern liberals could flatter themselves that racism was a Southern condition.”

She added the fact that while looting “freaks people out,” it is still “basically nonviolent.”

“You’re mass shoplifting,” she minimized. “Most stores are insured; it’s just hurting insurance companies on some level. It’s just money. It’s just property. It’s not actually hurting any people.”

Osterweil continued it is “a Republican myth” that small, family-owned businesses provide greater benefits to a local community than big corporations.

“They are no more likely to have to provide good stuff for the community than big businesses,” she said, adding it’s a “right-wing myth” that has “crawled into even leftist discourse” that “the small business owner must be respected” because he or she “creates jobs.”

Osterweil concluded by denying the value of nonviolent protests.

“We have to be willing to do things that scare us and that we wouldn’t do in normal, ‘peaceful’ times, because we need to get free,” she defended.
