Oregon Governor Kate Brown (D) has brought deeper shame to the term “gaslighting” by blaming “right wing” “white supremacists” for the “bloodshed” on Portland’s streets following the murder of an apparent Trump supporter on Saturday night. A man who’d been let go by the lftist district attorney on gun charges at an earlier protest is the alleged killer.

Brown blamed the “right wing” protesters in downtown Portland for the eruption of violence by antifa and the murder of the man who wore a “Patriot Prayer” hat. Patriot Prayer is a local group that has put on free speech marches and pro-Trump rallies in Portland. Triggered antifa come to the rallies to get rid of the “fascists” and there has been violence when they show up and police do not intervene. When the prayer group and antifa have been separated by police or antifa hasn’t shown up, there’s been no violence.

Brown persisted in blaming the conservative group for all the violence, likening them to the socialist and Biden supporter Richard Spencer’s white supremacist group in Charlottesville.

The right-wing group Patriot Prayer and self-proclaimed militia members drove into downtown Portland last night, armed and looking for a fight. Every Oregonian has the right to freely express their views without fear of deadly violence. I will not allow Patriot Prayer and armed white supremacists to bring more bloodshed to our streets.

Time and again, from Charlottesville to Kenosha to Portland, we have seen the tragic outcome when armed right-wing vigilantes take matters into their own hands. Gun violence is never, ever the answer.

Brown failed to note the constant violence, looting, arson, and rioting by antifa and Black Lives Matter, Incorporated™ for three months in Portland. Apparently violence only counts if it’s engaged in by someone with whom you politically disagree.

The Oregon governor also missed the “welcome party” earlier in the day, when the caravan of Trump supporters several miles long traveled from a nearby mall to drive into downtown Portland.

Facebook threatens to ban all news stories in Australia if it has to pay for the news it uses

The world’s biggest social media network is threatening to remove all news content in Australia. This is how it could change your newsfeed.

Social media giant Facebook is threatening to remove all news content from its platform in Australia and will not even allow users to post stories for friends in a bid to avoid paying for the news it uses.

The threat follows moves by Australia’s competition watchdog to force tech giants Facebook and Google to compensate Australian media outlets for the use of their content — a move that would set a worldwide precedent and one that Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said would establish a “more level playing field”.

Facebook issued its extreme reaction to the move this morning, with Australia and New Zealand managing director Will Easton saying it would ban all news content from being seen by Australian users if the news code was introduced.

“Assuming this draft code becomes law, we will reluctantly stop allowing publishers and people in Australia from sharing local and international news on Facebook and Instagram,” he said in a statement.

“This is not our first choice — it is our last. But it is the only way to protect against an outcome that defies logic and will hurt, not help, the long-term vibrancy of Australia’s news and media sector.”

Mr Easton said Facebook objected most strongly to the “perplexing” argument that Facebook should “pay news organisations for content” while ignoring “the financial value we bring publishers”.

The multibillion-dollar tech giant also reiterated its earlier argument that news was not a big money-spinner for the platform.

“The ACCC presumes that Facebook benefits most in its relationship with publishers, when in fact the reverse is true,” he said.

“News represents a fraction of what people see in their News Feed and is not a significant source of revenue for us.”

The move follows an aggressive campaign by Google in Australia, which saw the trillion-dollar firm add warnings to its search page and pop-up messages on YouTube about the proposed law, claiming its free services would be put “at risk” in the country.

But ACCC chairman Rod Sims said the campaign contained “misinformation” as Google would not be required “to charge Australians for the use of its free services” under the draft law, or “share any additional user data”.

World’s richest man, who has history of working with the CIA, gets official approval to unleash Amazon drones on the US

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has given approval for Amazon to operate its Prime Air delivery drones, an idea billionaire owner Jeff Bezos first introduced in 2013.

The approval means the drones can be operated “beyond the visual line of sight” by operators. Amazon says it will soon begin testing the delivery technology, which is supposed to cut wait times for orders from days to hours and eventually minutes. The company also plans on eventually introducing the delivery practice across the globe.

“This certification is an important step forward for Prime Air and indicates the FAA’s confidence in Amazon’s operating and safety procedures for an autonomous drone delivery service that will one day deliver packages to our customers around the world,” Prime Air Vice President David Carbon said through a public statement.

Carbon added the goal is to implement a system where customers can receive an order 30 minutes after it is placed through the company.The company petitioned for approval from the FAA in August of last year and stated initial deliveries will be for packages five pounds or lighter and they will occur in areas with low population density.

Bezos, who is worth around $200 billion, has been a controversial figure as his fortune grew even more during the current Covid-19 pandemic, and he has been a frequent target of President Donald Trump due to his ownership of The Washington Post. Amazon founder also has a history of working with the CIA with contracts for cloud computing. The combination of his billionaire status, the growth of Amazon, and his hand in both the media and government has earned Bezos plenty of critics beyond just the president.

However, Amazon will not be the only company buzzing around delivery drones in the air in the near future. Wing and UPS have already gotten FAA approval for their own drones.

CDC says 94% of ALL Americans who have died of COVID-19 had at least one other underlying disease

More than 180,000 Americans have died of coronavirus as of Monday

The CDC's latest fatality data shows that COVID-19 was listed as the sole cause of death for just 6% of those killed by the virus

94% of fatalities were in people who also suffered at least one chronic health condition, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity or heart disease

On average, people who died of coronavirus had 2.6 additional underlying health conditions

Nearly every American who has died of coronavirus also suffered from other underlying diseases, recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data reveal.

According to the CDC's latest update on COVID-19 fatalities, 94 percent of people who have died of the infection in the US had at least one pre-existing condition, such as obesity, high blood pressure or heart disease.

Coronavirus was the sole cause of death for just six percent of fatalities as of data published August 26.

In total, 180,221 Americans have been killed by coronavirus as of Monday, August 31.

But among death certificates submitted to the CDC, just 9,683 listed COVID-19 alone as the cause of death.

It became clear early on in the pandemic that elderly people and those with underlying chronic health conditions were most vulnerable to catching and getting severely ill from coronavirus - as the case with most infectious diseases.

People in these vulnerable populations tend to have weaker immune systems, which makes it harder for their bodies to fight off infection.

Many - especially those who are obese or have high blood pressure - also have higher levels of baseline inflammation.

Because COVID-19 often triggers an inflammatory immune response that can quickly grow out of control, the bodies of people who already have higher-than-normal levels of inflammation are more likely to become overwhelmed, and start to fail.

But then reports began to emerge of younger, otherwise healthy people falling seriously ill, too.

Some people in their 20s and 30s even died in the US and abroad.

Their families were left stunned and puzzled by how a virus so quickly killed their loved ones.

Coronavirus: WHO warns easing restrictions early is a ‘recipe for disaster’

Australians are sick of lockdowns and eager to return to normal life, but easing restrictions too soon would a disaster, we’ve been warned.

The World Health Organisation has issued a stark warning about easing COVID-19 restrictions too early as many countries, including Australia, are dealing with deadly second waves of the virus.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he understood people were tired of being in lockdown, but warned rushing to open the economy was a “recipe for disaster” if coronavirus transmission wasn’t under control.

“WHO fully supports efforts to re-open economies and societies. We want to see children returning to school and people returning to the workplace – but we want to see it done safely,’ Dr Tedros said during a media briefing on Monday.

“At the same time, no country can just pretend the pandemic is over. The reality is that this coronavirus spreads easily, it can be fatal to people of all ages, and most people remain susceptible.

“The more control countries have over the virus, the more they can open up. Opening up without having control is a recipe for disaster. It’s not one size fits all, it’s not all or nothing.”

This warning comes as Victoria struggles with the growing pressure to lift it’s tough lockdown measures while still suppressing a second wave of COVID-19 infections.

Premier Daniel Andrews has continually told Victorian residents it is “too early” to ease restrictions right now or even have a clear understanding of when the state can start to reopen.

Even though the state’s daily COVID-19 cases were in the low 70s on Monday, Mr Andrews said he couldn’t rule out having to extend Melbourne’s strict stage four lockdown beyond the September 13 end date.

But to do this the government will need to be granted an extension on the state of emergency powers that allows for the legal framework behind most of the state’s restrictions, a move that has prompted outrage from the public.

“If we were to open up with numbers anything like what we have had, even with a really positive trend, then those numbers will explode,” Mr Andrews said.

“We will have a seesawing effect where the rules are on and off, that will do enormous damage and it of course means also that we are likely then to have many thousands of people needing hospitalisation and many people dying.”

The shootout took place on Sunday shortly after 3 a.m. when a squad of police officers patrolling near the Las Fuentes neighborhood came under attack from a group of between 10-12 SUVs and pickup trucks carrying Gulf Cartel gunmen, information provided to Breitbart Texas by Tamaulipas law enforcement sources revealed.

The attack comes at a time when the Gulf Cartel has been actively knocking down police surveillance cameras throughout the border city of Reynosa, Breitbart Texas reported. The action comes at a time when the criminal organization has been adversely impacted by the various lockdowns caused by the coronavirus pandemic. These lockdowns negatively impacted their drug and human smuggling operations into Texas. As a result, the Gulf Cartel has been letting its members turn to armed robberies, kidnappings, and extortions as a way to cover their expenses.

Some one is trying to cause unrest

At Least 3 Soldiers Killed, Five Others Injured in Bomb Blast in Capital of Afghanistan’s Paktia

At least 3 soldiers were killed and at least five others were injured in a bomb attack in Gardez, the capital of Afghanistan’s eastern Paktia Province, a Paktia Security Command spokesperson said in a statement.

"Unfortunately, three of our soldiers were killed and five others were wounded in the attack. The situation is now normal and security forces are present in the area", a Paktia Security Command spokesperson said in a Tuesday statement.

Earlier on Tuesday, provincial spokesman Abdul Rahman Mangal confirmed that a bomb had exploded in Gardez. Governor of Paktia Province Mohammad Halim Fidai has said in a statement that at least six servicemen of the Afghan Public Protection Force were injured.

"The first blast occurred at 5:30 am [01:30 GMT on Tuesday] … Security forces cleared the area and two suicide bombers were killed. So far, six members of the public protection forces have been injured", Fidai said.

The Taliban* took responsibility for the bomb blast, claiming that dozens of Afghan soldiers were killed and wounded as a result of the explosion.

The security situation in Afghanistan remains tense. In August, the Kabul administration agreed to free the remaining 400 Taliban prisoners, which is expected to pave the way for intra-Afghan talks under the US-Taliban peace deal.

US Officials Claim Taliban Violated Peace Deal With Rocket Fire

Taliban denies firing any rockets

Adding to constant questions about the US peace deal in Afghanistan, unnamed US military officials are now claiming that the Taliban are believed to have fired rockets at a joint US-Afghan base, and if true this would violate the deal.

This gives the officials an opportunity to push some uncertainty, but doesn’t appear to be a serious matter. The rockets in question were fired last month, with little impact or reaction until the new comments.

The Taliban operating in the Helmand area also denied firing the rockets in the first place, though there was some suggestion that the fire may have been by a faction of former Taliban that is opposed to the peace deal and was trying to sabotage it.

It doesn’t seem like that’s going to sabotage the agreement, though clearly a handful of officials are similarly opposed to the deal and looking for an excuse. Though such frustration seems to keep adding to such reports, the drawdown from Afghanistan is moving forward anyhow.

Alice Johnson Accosted By Demonstrators Outside White House

Alice Johnson was accosted by demonstrators outside the White House following her appearance at the Republican National Convention (RNC), the Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

Johnson on Saturday told a group of journalists, commentators and other public figures on Clubhouse, an exclusive, audio-based platform, about the confrontation, two participants on the call told the DCNF.

Johnson, a 65-year-old black woman granted clemency by President Donald Trump last year, praised the president’s efforts on criminal justice reform while speaking at the RNC on Thursday.

Johnson said that as she left the White House, she was accosted by a group of demonstrators who yelled things at her that she had never heard before, one source told the DCNF. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because details of the conversation were supposed to remain private.

Johnson also told the group that the demonstrators told her they wanted to do “terrible things” to her, the source added.

Kmele Foster, an entrepreneur and libertarian commentator who participated in the discussion, confirmed that Johnson shared an account of a tense encounter with protesters after leaving the White House on Thursday.

Foster also stressed that no participants on the call discouraged Johnson from speaking about the confrontation publicly, contrary to claims on social media.

The DCNF was unable to reach Johnson for comment.

Alice Johnson wasn’t the only RNC attendee harassed by protesters upon leaving the White House.
