Julian Assange’s partner has visited him in prison for the first time in almost six months, and said he looked much thinner than last time she saw him.

Stella Moris took the couple’s two young children to meet their father, who is being held in Belmarsh Prison in south-east London, awaiting an extradition hearing on behalf of the United States government.

Ms Moris and the WikiLeaks founder had to wear face masks and visors for the 20-minute meeting and were not allowed to touch each other.

She told the PA news agency it was “incredibly stressful” but expressed relief at being able to visit him for the first time since March 22.

“We had to keep social distancing and Julian was told he would have to self-isolate for two weeks if he touched the children.

“Julian said it was the first time he had been given a mask because things are very different behind the doors.

“I could not see him very clearly because of the visors, but he looked a lot thinner.

“He was wearing a yellow armband to indicate his level of prisoner status, and you could see how thin his arms were.

“At least he got to see the children, even though he couldn’t touch them. The children were both calm – we all remained seated the whole time.”

Gabriel, aged three, showed Assange how he could recite the alphabet and count, said his mother.

Ms Moris said her partner is still suffering from a frozen shoulder, and had recently sprained his ankle.

“He is in a lot of pain,” she added.

The couple, whose other son, Max, is aged one, met when Assange was living inside the Ecuadorean embassy in London as he fought being extradited to the US over the activities of WikiLeaks.

The extradition hearing is due to start at the Old Bailey on September 7 and could last three or four weeks.

Ms Moris has launched a crowdfunding appeal to try to raise £600,000 towards the cost of fighting extradition.

Around £47,000 has been raised so far.

Ms Moris expressed concern about Covid-related health measures as Assange is transported to and from the court every day.

She added that he has not had a face-to-face meeting with his legal team since lockdown began in March and only has limited access to the huge amount of paperwork generated by the case.

Oregon's Democrat Governor Just Blamed Right Wing 'White Supremacists' For Apparent Antifa Murder of Trump Supporter

Oregon Governor Kate Brown (D) has brought deeper shame to the term “gaslighting” by blaming “right wing” “white supremacists” for the “bloodshed” on Portland’s streets following the murder of an apparent Trump supporter on Saturday night. A man who’d been let go by the lftist district attorney on gun charges at an earlier protest is the alleged killer.

Brown blamed the “right wing” protesters in downtown Portland for the eruption of violence by antifa and the murder of the man who wore a “Patriot Prayer” hat. Patriot Prayer is a local group that has put on free speech marches and pro-Trump rallies in Portland. Triggered antifa come to the rallies to get rid of the “fascists” and there has been violence when they show up and police do not intervene. When the prayer group and antifa have been separated by police or antifa hasn’t shown up, there’s been no violence.

Oregon Governor Blames Murder Victim for ‘Looking For A Fight’

Brown persisted in blaming the conservative group for all the violence, likening them to the socialist and Biden supporter Richard Spencer’s white supremacist group in Charlottesville.

The right-wing group Patriot Prayer and self-proclaimed militia members drove into downtown Portland last night, armed and looking for a fight. Every Oregonian has the right to freely express their views without fear of deadly violence. I will not allow Patriot Prayer and armed white supremacists to bring more bloodshed to our streets.

Time and again, from Charlottesville to Kenosha to Portland, we have seen the tragic outcome when armed right-wing vigilantes take matters into their own hands. Gun violence is never, ever the answer.

Brown failed to note the constant violence, looting, arson, and rioting by antifa and Black Lives Matter, Incorporated™ for three months in Portland. Apparently violence only counts if it’s engaged in by someone with whom you politically disagree.

The Oregon governor also missed the “welcome party” earlier in the day, when the caravan of Trump supporters several miles long traveled from a nearby mall to drive into downtown Portland.

Antifa Mob Throws Rocks at Trump Caravan Cars

Antifa and protesters bragged that they were ready for the Trump supporters on Twitter. Someone in a group on an overpass on Interstate 84 recorded a group throwing rocks at cars below.

Social media giant Facebook is threatening to remove all news content from its platform in Australia and will not even allow users to post stories for friends in a bid to avoid paying for the news it uses.

“This is not our first choice — it is our last. But it is the only way to protect against an outcome that defies logic and will hurt, not help, the long-term vibrancy of Australia’s news and media sector.”

Mr Easton said Facebook objected most strongly to the “perplexing” argument that Facebook should “pay news organisations for content” while ignoring “the financial value we bring publishers”.

The multibillion-dollar tech giant also reiterated its earlier argument that news was not a big money-spinner for the platform.

“The ACCC presumes that Facebook benefits most in its relationship with publishers, when in fact the reverse is true,” he said.

“News represents a fraction of what people see in their News Feed and is not a significant source of revenue for us.”

The move follows an aggressive campaign by Google in Australia, which saw the trillion-dollar firm add warnings to its search page and pop-up messages on YouTube about the proposed law, claiming its free services would be put “at risk” in the country.

World’s richest man, who has history of working with the CIA, gets official approval to unleash Amazon drones on the US

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has given approval for Amazon to operate its Prime Air delivery drones, an idea billionaire owner Jeff Bezos first introduced in 2013.

The approval means the drones can be operated “beyond the visual line of sight” by operators. Amazon says it will soon begin testing the delivery technology, which is supposed to cut wait times for orders from days to hours and eventually minutes. Carbon added the goal is to implement a system where customers can receive an order 30 minutes after it is placed through the company.The company petitioned for approval from the FAA in August of last year and stated initial deliveries will be for packages five pounds or lighter and they will occur in areas with low population density.

Bezos, who is worth around $200 billion, has been a controversial figure as his fortune grew even more during the current Covid-19 pandemic, and he has been a frequent target of President Donald Trump due to his ownership of The Washington Post. Amazon founder also has a history of working with the CIA with contracts for cloud computing. The combination of his billionaire status, the growth of Amazon, and his hand in both the media and government has earned Bezos plenty of critics beyond just the president.

However, Amazon will not be the only company buzzing around delivery drones in the air in the near future. Wing and UPS have already gotten FAA approval for their own drones.
