Michael Moore Compares Trump to Osama Bin Laden: ‘He Is a Mass Killer’

Left-wing documentary filmmaker Michael Moore launched a profane, fallacy-filled rant on September 11th, calling President Trump a “mass killer” and likening him to Osama Bin Laden. Moore insisted that “no American other than Confederate President Jefferson Davis and his General Robert E. Lee has killed more Americans than Donald J. Trump.”

“My friends. This is murder. In the extreme. No American other than Confederate President Jefferson Davis and his General Robert E. Lee has killed more Americans than Donald J. Trump,” Moore said in an “Emergency Podcast Episode” of RUMBLE, referring to the U.S. death toll of the Chinese coronavirus.

Moore told the audience that he felt obliged to provide the emergency commentary following another revelation from Trump’s conversations with journalist Bob Woodward, who claimed that Trump said he saved the “ass” of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman from pressure from Congress following the killing of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

“Think about that. Civil War. 600,000 plus dead. Thank you, Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee. We’re heading over 200,000,” Moore said, citing reports that the number could reach 400,000 by Christmas. Notably, the IHME model that the forecast is based on has a pattern of failed projections, as Breitbart News has extensively detailed.

“What if he had chosen to do what any other decent, sane, moral person would have done when informed about this national security threat?” Moore asked, stating that Trump was told the truth about the virus in January but chose to ignore it. The Oscar-winning director failed to mention during his fallacy-filled rant that Trump’s decisive decision to shut down travel from China that same month.

While he said it is true that true Trump did not actually kill Americans “with his own hands,” Moore argued that the president still bears responsibly and likened him to Osama Bin Laden.

No. Trump is a mass killer,” Moore stated. “Trump stood down and knowingly allowed 200,000 Americans to die. That is 67 9/11s. Greek police fire tear gas at migrants protesting after blaze at Europe’s largest refugee center

Clashes erupted and police fired tear gas as a large crowd of migrants protested on the Greek island of Lesbos after Moria refugee center, the largest in Europe, burnt down earlier this week.

The blaze at the severely overcrowded camp, which was initially designed to accommodate about 2,200, left more than 12,000 people, mainly Africans and Afghans, without shelter. Greek authorities have already started erecting a new tent settlement for them, but the migrants are demanding to be allowed to leave the island.

Hundreds of people marched across Lesbos on Saturday, chanting “Freedom” and “No camp.” Some of them carried signs which read, “We don’t want to go to a hell like Moria again” and “Can you hear us Mrs Merkel?,” appealing to the German chancellor to take them in.

Things got heated after the protesters tried to make their way down a road leading to the island’s port of Mytilene, which was blocked by the police. There were brief clashes, with law enforcement deploying teargas to make the migrants disperse.

Nineteen years ago, a sunny September morning turned to horror – and our state, and our country, were forever changed.

September 11th was a terrifying day. We lost nearly 3,000 men, women, and children. They were our parents and siblings, our sons and daughters, our friends and our neighbors.

Today, I join you in honoring those who we lost, but will never forget. That day, we experienced the darkest of moments, but we also witnessed the best of America.

We saw it in the first responders speeding towards lower Manhattan, running up towers, while everyone else was running down. In the construction workers who rushed to help. In the strangers and communities that offered support. We saw how much Americans are willing to risk and sacrifice to help one another.

The Senate must pass a comprehensive Coronavirus relief bill that meets the needs of the American people. Not a paltry, piecemeal approach that leaves out millions.

My proudest moment in the Senate was when we finally passed a bipartisan bill to provide our brave 9/11 first responders with health care for the rest of their lives. But it took years to get them the help that they deserved.

Global investors continue to pour cash into China despite coronavirus uncertainty & tensions with US

China attracted 84.1 billion yuan ($12.3 billion) in foreign direct investment (FDI) last month – 18.7 percent more than a year earlier – as the world’s second-largest economy continues to rebound after the Covid-19 outbreak.

August marked the fifth consecutive month of FDI growth, according to data from China’s Commerce Ministry. In the first eight months of this year, investment inflows jumped 2.6 percent to 619.8 billion yuan.

China remains a hot investment destination as it is one of only a few nations that managed to avoid falling into recession after the coronavirus outbreak rattled the global economy. After a record slump in the first quarter, China’s gross domestic product (GDP) beat forecasts in June, rising 3.2 percent.

Beijing has been stepping up its efforts to attract global investors. On Friday, senior Chinese officials said that the country is betting on the fast-growing service sector to support investors. They also revealed that the Chinese capital is looking to become a “national comprehensive demonstration zone” as it implements a range of measures, including facilitating cross-border flows of capital, support for overseas securities and futures firms, and encouraging foreign companies to participate in stock and bond trading.

“Foreign investors have expressed a strong wish to get into the telecommunications sector,” China’s Vice-Commerce Minister Wang Shouwen said on Friday, as quoted by CGTN. “Now the plan will allow foreign companies to invest in virtual private networks (VPNs), with a proportion of foreign shares not exceeding 50 percent. Overseas telecommunications providers can set up joint ventures to provide such services for foreign enterprises in Beijing.”

Investment inflows into China continue to grow despite rows with the US on multiple fronts. In addition to pressuring Chinese businesses on its own territory, the Trump administration has been attempting to persuade American companies to ditch China. While businesses are concerned about bitter trade tensions between the world’s two leading economies, US enterprises are reluctant to pack up their things, a recent survey by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Shanghai showed. According to the poll, over 78 percent of companies do not want to change their investment allocations. As for moving out production, the survey found that just four percent of firms would relocate some capacities to the US, while 70 percent have no such plans.

Swedish PM U-Turns, Admits Connection Between Migration and Crime

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven has U-turned and admitted that there is a link between migration and Sweden’s rising levels of violent crime.

The Social Democrat leader admitted that there is a connection between crime and migration during a debate in the Swedish Riksdag on Wednesday.

Mr Löfven said: “With a large migration, where we cannot cope with integration, then there is also a greater risk of the kind of problems that we see. It’s crystal clear.”

The prime minister’s statement came in response to questions posed by populist Sweden Democrats (SD) leader Jimmie Åkesson, who slammed the Swedish leader for refusing to admit any connection between migration and crime as recently as earlier this week, Nyheter Idag reports.

The admission by Löfven comes after deputy national police chief Mats Löfving sounded the alarm last weekend over the growth and influence of migration-background clan gangs across Sweden.

“These clans come to Sweden solely with the purpose of organising and systematising crime. They work to create power, they have a great capacity for violence, and they want to make money. And they do that with drugs, violent crimes, and extortion,” Löfving had said.

Tulsi Gabbard joins #CancelNetflix campaign, calls 'Cuties' child porn as GOP lawmakers ask DOJ to charge streaming service

Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has joined calls to “cancel” Netflix over its new film ‘Cuties,’ dubbing it “child porn” for its sexualized depictions of young girls after two GOP lawmakers urged the DOJ to sue the platform.

The former Democratic presidential hopeful took aim at Netflix in a Friday tweet, arguing the controversial film would only “whet the appetite for pedophiles” and “help fuel the child sex trafficking trade” while slamming the streaming service as “complicit.”

The Hawaii Democrat was not the only lawmaker to step into the debate over the new release on Friday. Just prior to Gabbard’s tweet, Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) and Rep. Jim Banks (R-Indiana) also blasted the film in separate statements, both inviting the DOJ to take legal action against Netflix.

“There’s no excuse for the sexualization of children, and Netflix’s decision to promote the film ‘Cuties’ is disgusting at best and a serious crime at worst,” Cotton told the Daily Caller.

Bahrainis Decry Betrayal as King Does Deal With Israel

In a move that surprised no one, Bahrain and Israel agreed on Friday to establish full diplomatic ties, formalizing more than two decades of clandestine relations.

President Donald Trump announced the US-brokered agreement in a joint statement with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Bahrain’s king Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The three leaders spoke on the phone following the announcement.

Bahrain and Israel “will exchange embassies and ambassadors, begin direct flights between their countries and launch cooperation initiatives,” Trump announced at an Oval Office press conference.

Areas of cooperation will include health, business, technology, education, security and agriculture, Trump said.

During the leaders’ call, Bahrain’s king reaffirmed his country’s commitment to the moribund two-state solution, according to Bahrain’s official news agency.

Declaring support for a two-state solution they are doing nothing to advance is a standard tactic by Arab and European governments to deflect from their complicity and inaction as Israel continues to violently colonize Palestinian land.

Supporting the nonexistent “peace process” is also used as an excuse for public and private dealings with Israel.

Bahrain is following in the footsteps of its regional ally the United Arab Emirates, which also agreed to full normalization of relations with Israel less than a month ago.

Both countries will sign the agreements with Israel in a White House ceremony on 15 September.

Both normalization agreements are being described as treaties of “peace,” despite neither countries having actually engaged in war with Israel.

“It’s just a very historic day, a very important day and so interesting that it’s on 9/11. It’s such a great time,” Trump told reporters.

“These treaties are the result of tireless work behind the scenes over many years,” Netanyahu said in a video address on Friday.

A grinning Netanyahu also celebrated the fact that Israel was gaining “peace for peace” – a term long used by Netanyahu in opposition to the formula “land for peace” that was for decades meant to be the basis of negotiations.

“Peace for peace” means, in effect, that Israel is getting full, normal relations in exchange for nothing.

Arson Probe Opened Into Deadly Oregon Wildfire: Police Chief

ASHLAND, Ore. (Reuters) - Arson investigators have opened a probe into the suspicious origins of a deadly Oregon wildfire that began in the town of Ashland and destroyed hundreds of homes in nearby communities, Ashland's police chief said on Thursday.

The remains of two victims have been found in ruins from the blaze, which erupted on Tuesday and roared through a third day in the midst of a spate of wildfires across Oregon, according to a spokesman for the state fire marshal.

More bodies are expected to be discovered as search teams comb through the wreckage of dwellings that were engulfed during a chaotic evacuation of populated areas along the path of the swiftly spreading flames, Ashland police chief Tighe O'Meara said.

"We tried to get people out as fast as we could," O'Meara told Reuters by phone. "Chances are there are going to be bodies in some of those homes. The likelihood of much larger (fatality) numbers is significant."

The blaze, dubbed the Almeda fire, originated Tuesday morning in Ashland, a city of some 21,000 residents in southern Oregon just 16 miles (26 km) from the California border that is home to Southern Oregon University and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

The flames, driven by high winds, did relatively little damage to Ashland but quickly spread out of town and into neighboring communities along Bear Creek before roaring through the adjacent towns of Talent and Phoenix toward Medford, a city of 82,000 residents, O'Meara said.

He cited local news media estimates that roughly 600 homes were destroyed but added, "easily hundreds of homes were lost."

Reuters video footage from the fire zone showed miles of burned-out vehicles, flame-scorched ruins of gutted buildings and twisted debris lining state highway Route 99 in between Ashland and Medford.

The area was off-limits to evacuees, but here and there individuals and couples were seen trudging along the roadway with arm loads of belongings they apparently had managed to salvage from the wreckage of their homes.

Police in Medford as well as in Douglas County to the north cautioned against rumors that left-wing anti-fascists and right-wing Proud Boy extremists were starting the fires.

Rich Tyler, a spokesman for the state fire marshal's office, said separately that it was not immediately clear whether any of the fires raging across Oregon this week were deliberately set.

"Every fire is investigated for the possibility of arson so that we can either determine it is or rule it out," he said.

That’s right in less than two years, Verma billed Americans $380 an hour to pay for consultants she hired to bolster her personal image in the hopes of winning awards that would place her on a list of powerful women and influential people, Associated Press reports.

One contractor, Pam Stevens, who’s done extensive work for the GOP, charged up to $330 hourly to pursue ideas like asking publications including “Oprah Magazine” and “Garden and Gun” to write articles about Verma. Stevens also seemed to bill at least $1,117 to arrange an interview that resulted in a Verma profile in AARP The Magazine, the report said.

The contractors were “handpicked” by Verma’s aides, the report said, creating “a shadow operation” that sidelined the communications staff of the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The consultants’ work often had nothing to do with running Medicare, Medicaid and other massive health programs that the agency operates, said the 56-page report, which was backed by over 1,700 pages of documents. Verma has run the agency since 2017.

Needless to say, some members of Congress didn’t believe that Verma should be using taxpayer money to get her IG popping.

“Congress did not intend for Administrator Verma or other senior CMS officials to use taxpayer dollars to stockpile CMS with handpicked consultants or promote Administrator Verma’s public profile and personal brand,” a report by congressional Democrats said Thursday.

“Given the reckless disregard she has shown for the public’s trust, Administrator Verma should reimburse the taxpayers for these inappropriate expenditures,” it said.

Because we now live in an alternate reality where everything is defensible, even blatant disregard for taxpayers’ funds so that an appointed official can step her flossing game up, one jackass, I mean, Health and Human Services Department official defended Verma, calling the report, “political smear” by “far left politicians.”

The Burger King and his McDonald's fast food compatriot, Ronald McDonald, share a kiss in a Pride-themed ad to honor Finland's Helsinki Pride Week.

The Finnish campaign shows the two rivals kissing in an ad titled "Love Conquers All."

The ad, launched by Burger King Finland — partner for Helsinki Pride — is a reflection of the company's values, a spokesperson says.

Burger King Finland's brand manager, Kaisa Kasila, told Adweek, "Burger King has always stood for equality, love, and everyone's right to be just the way they are. The only instance where it might not seem so is when we're bantering with our competition."

Kasila added, "We thought, what a better way to convey our values than by portraying an all-encompassing kiss between Burger King and McDonald. We wanted to show that in the end, love always wins. And we know McDonald's stands for the values we stand for, too."

Fernando Machadao, global chief marketing officer for Restaurant Brands International — a holding company for a variety of fast food corporations including Burger King — lauded the ad in a now-viral tweet.

Machado told Adweek that the "impossible kiss" was an illustration that love does, indeed, conquer all.

"Our brand is always bold, edgy, and fun," he said. "So showcasing this 'impossible kiss' is a way to demonstrate that love conquers all. And we hope that 'the other guys' understand that it is actually a celebration of love rather than a competitive statement."

It is unclear at the time of this reporting whether McDonald's is aware of the viral new ad campaign.

Oregon governor says she is preparing for a 'mass fatality event' with dozens missing as hundreds of firefighters battle two huge wildfires and 500,000 are evacuated - while death toll on the West Coast exceeds 25

Hundreds of firefighters battled two large wildfires Friday that threatened to merge near the most populated part of Oregon, including the suburbs of Portland, and the governor said dozens of people are missing in other parts of the state as the death toll is expected to climb significantly.

Authorities in Oregon, California, and Washington State reported at least 25 dead on Friday.

Oregon's emergency management director, Andrew Phelps, said officials are 'preparing for a mass fatality event' and that thousands of structures have been destroyed.

Governor Kate Brown said more than 40,000 Oregonians have been evacuated and about 500,000 are in different levels of evacuation zones, either having been told to leave or to prepare to do so.

She was dialing back on a statement late Thursday issued by the state Office of Emergency Management that said a half-million people had been ordered to evacuate statewide.

Dozens of people are missing in Jackson County in the south and Marion County, where a fire continues to burn east of Salem, Brown told a news conference Friday.

Also Friday, authorities announced that a man had been arrested on two counts of arson for allegedly starting a fire in southern Oregon on Tuesday.

The Oregon Convention Center in Portland was among the buildings being transformed into shelters for evacuees.

Portland, shrouded in smoke from the fires, on Friday had the worst air quality of the world's major cities, according to IQAir.

National Guard troops and corrections officers transferred about 1,300 inmates from a women's prison in a southern suburb of Portland 'out of an abundance of caution,' the Oregon Department of Corrections said.

Spokeswoman Vanessa Vanderzee said it took 20 hours to transfer the inmates Thursday to another prison in a safe zone.

Netflix CEO Appeared On CNN For 10 Minutes, Was Not Asked A Single Question About ‘Cuties’ Controversy

On Thursday, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings appeared on CNN for a full ten minutes and was not asked a single question about the controversy surrounding the streaming platform’s new movie “Cuties,” which features 11-year-old girls dancing sexually. Critics of the film have alleged it legitimizes pedophilia.

According to Newsbusters, Poppy Harlow of “CNN Newsroom” asked Hastings a multitude of questions while praising Netflix for its diversity initiatives; absent throughout the whole interview was a single question about “Cuties,” which has rocked the internet—both Left and Right.

“Instead, CNN Newsroom co-anchor Poppy Harlow gave Netflix co-CEO Reed Hastings an almost entirely softball interview,” reported Newsbusters. “She even found time to praise the company for being ahead of its competitors in ‘diversity’ programming and leadership.”

Netflix found itself at the center of controversy last month when it released a poster for the movie “Cuties” that featured pre-teen girls in sexually suggestive poses. The company apologized after severe online backlash. “We’re deeply sorry for the inappropriate artwork that we used for ‘Cuties.’ It was not OK, nor was it representative of this French film which premiered at Sundance. We’ve now updated the pictures and description,” Netflix said in a statement.

“Cuties” tells the story of 11-year-old Amy who joins a dance group called “The Cuties” at school with her friends. The film holds an 88% score on Rotten Tomatoes and won the World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award at Sundance this year. Defenders of the film say that Netflix dramatically misrepresented the story’s content with its poster, noting that the original French advertisements were tame by comparison. However, upon the movie’s release on Wednesday, the hashtag #CancelNetflix quickly began trending when clips of the movie revealed that the poster indeed reflected the movie’s content: pre-teen girls dancing sexually.

“Do you know how sets work? I do. I’ve directed some of the biggest stars in the world. A director on the Cuties set and a choreographer told 11 year olds to simulate sexual moves repeatedly. What they did should have them charged and registered as sex offenders,” tweeted Robby Starbuck.

“Just got off the phone with @netflix customer service. They said that as of this time, they have no plans to remove the pedo film ‘cuties’ from their platform. Keep fighting until they pull it down. They won’t do it unless it starts affecting their bottom line,” tweeted Logan Hall.

As Newsbusters noted, not once was Reed Hastings asked his opinion about the fiery anger that “Cuties” has sparked on social media.

“Clearly doing damage control for Netflix, Harlow wouldn’t ask about the #CancelNetflix boycott or the growing outrage,” continued Newsbusters. “Hastings was out with a new book on Netflix’s corporate culture and Harlow dutifully stayed on-topic asking him questions about the Netflix workplace and how he runs the company. The only semi-critical question she asked was the last one of the interview. Harlow gently asked if he would ‘still stand by’ his decision to kowtow to Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman by pulling an episode of a show that blamed him for the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.”

Report: Facebook most common platform for anti-Palestinian racism in Israel

Facebook, as well as several Israeli mass media outlets, is the most common media platform used to deliver anti-Palestinian racism and incitement, a specialist report has concluded.

A quantitative report conducted in August by the Arab Centre for Media Freedom, Development and Research (I’LAM) found that Facebook accounted for 30 per cent of the racism and incitement, followed by Israel Hayom with 18 per cent, Maariv with 14 per cent, Yedioth Ahronoth with 12 per cent, ending with Twitter with ten per cent.

Meanwhile, the report revealed: “The targets of racist or incendiary content are changing with local political and security developments,” pointing out that the Palestinian Authority (PA) was the most targeted segment of Palestinian society in August.

After targeting the PA, Israeli media delivered racist messages against the Palestinians through content relating to Israel’s annexation plans and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)-Israel normalisation deal.

During the last week of August, Israel media, I’LAM disclosed, was full of incitement against the Israeli High Court after its decision to evacuate an illegal Jewish settlement built on private Palestinian land, and the decision to prevent the demolition of a Palestinian citizen in Jenin.

The report conveyed that the type of incitement varied between calling for imposing collective punishment, the demonisation of Palestinians and legitimising the use of force against Palestinians, adding that this provocative content portrays Israel as a victim.

Most articles that included incitement and racism usually contained more than one type of provocation.

Biden wants refocus on fighting Russia

Former Vice President Joe Biden gave some of his first foreign policy-related positions in an interview with Stars and Stripes on Thursday, saying the “forever wars have to end” while seemingly ruling out any full-fledged withdrawals, arguing the US still has to worry about terrorism and ISIS.

Biden said the ongoing US wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria are so complicated he can’t promise a withdrawal. He also suggested he may increase military spending even beyond its current record levels as he shifts focus to what he believes should be the military’s priorities.

The priorities, as are so often the case for the US, are fighting Russia, who Biden identified as a “near-peer” power. The US spends more than ten times the amount on its military annually that Russia does, and it is unclear in what way they are a “near-peer.”

Either way, Biden intends to shift the focus toward unmanned drones and cyber-warfare, and suggests that is likely to boil down to not just a shift in where money is spent, but likely an increase in spending as well.

“First thing I’m going to have to do, and I’m not joking: if elected I’m going to have to get on the phone with the heads of state and say America’s back,” Biden said, saying NATO has been “worried as hell about our failure to confront Russia.”

Though the international community has faulted President Trump for being too close with Russia, the fear of that appearance has meant extremely limited diplomacy between the major nuclear powers. Biden’s plans for confrontation seem to offer more of the same, higher record spending, and avoiding peace overtures for fear of not looking sufficiently tough.

How a Senate Inquiry Revealed the Israeli Surveillance Industry’s Role in Orchestrating Russiagate

Rarely in the news, however, is the role played by Israeli cybersecurity startups in the creation of the Russiagate narrative itself. ActBlue is a massive Democrat fundraising platform that helps push leftist radical and progressive agenda’s, and today they are being called out as a non profit that can’t tell you where 50% of their donations came from in 2019.

What exactly is ActBlue you ask, this is what they claim to be.

ActBlue is a nonprofit technology organization established in June 2004 that enables left-leaning nonprofits, Democrats, and progressive groups to raise money on the Internet by providing them with online fundraising software. Its stated mission is to “empower small-dollar donors”.

And empower them they do, but it’s not really so small after all is it?

According to a new scathing report from Fox news, less than two months ahead of the presidential elections, and of course the Democrats constantly raising concerns about foreign interference, it appears it is the Democrats who truly have the problem.

A conservative political group is raising “serious concerns” about millions of donations reported by the major Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue.

A preliminary computer analysis by the Take Back Action Fund, which was obtained by Fox News, has found that nearly half of all 2019 donations to ActBlue were made by people claiming to be unemployed.

Action Fund President John Pudner questioned the veracity of those donations and called it a loophole that must be closed for the sake of election integrity.

“After downloading hundreds of millions of [dollars in] donations to the Take Back Action Fund servers, we were shocked to see that almost half of the donations to ActBlue in 2019 claimed to be unemployed individuals,” he said. “The name of employers must be disclosed when making political donations, but more than 4.7 million donations came from people who claimed they did not have an employer. Those 4.7 million donations totaled $346 million ActBlue raised and sent to liberal causes.”

QAnon spreads across globe, shadowing COVID-19

The QAnon movement is spreading around the world, turning an outlandish conspiracy theory revolving around President Trump into one of the nation’s most dangerous exports.

Flags and banners brandishing one of the conspiracy’s mottos — “WWG1WGA,” an acronym for “where we go one, we go all” — dotted the crowd at a rally against lockdowns in Germany last month.

And when Trump visited Japan in 2019, he was greeted by cardboard cutouts of the letter Q.

These aren’t just isolated instances either. Researchers have found large QAnon communities in more than 70 countries.

The original conspiracy theory was tightly focused on an alleged cabal of deep state figures and Hollywood elites running child trafficking rings that Trump was working with the military to expose. But it has since evolved into a meta-conspiracy theory that pushes its anti-institution and anti-Semitic strains more explicitly.

Experts who spoke with The Hill about the theory’s spread said it has become worse because of the coronavirus, which itself is the subject of many conspiracy theories. This helped create a perfect storm fostering distrust in established government and public health institutions.

“Pandemics fuel a lot of questions and make people very skeptical, especially in cases when what we would consider to be credible and trustworthy institutions all of a sudden themselves don't seem to have the right answers or are not aligned on how to manage the situation,” Anna-Sophie Harling, head of media evaluation startup NewsGuard’s Europe team, said in an interview.

“Conspiracies are rooted in the idea that we're all being lied to by some greater authority or voice and QAnon perfectly ties into that.”

The hyper-viral short documentary “Out of the Shadows” fueled baseless theories linking the coronavirus’s origins to Bill Gates, 5G towers and the World Health Organization, Alex Newhouse, digital research lead at the Center on Terrorism, Extremism, and Counterterrorism at the Middlebury Institute, told The Hill.

And as institutional distrust grew, QAnon, which pushed a lot of the disinformation in the first place, was able to grab a foothold.

Another way that the pandemic has contributed to the international spread of QAnon is by isolating people and leaving them with little to do but go online.
