Was fortunate enough to see them play live at Cal Jam 2 I believe in 1974, with 250,000 of my best friends. Got in for free, after some girls we knew went in, got their hand stamped for in and out passage. We wet the back of our hands, and transferred it from theirs to ours.
The whole thing was filmed and played back over consecutive Saturday nights months later on ABC. One of the highlights was Keith Emerson (RIP) playing a piano that turned out to be suspended in the air, and doing 360's, while Emerson played it. What a fucking show.
And just think, they almost all are dead.
