What is unfathomable is that, in one of his final acts as Secretary of DHS, Jey Johnson declared election infrastructure to be of national security importance, subject to powers under the Patriot Act. Yet, everything we have seen this year has been to compromise, to a potentially fatal extent, the electoral system in place. No one with any operational experience, except in sabotage, would begin to countenance introducing an untested form of voting without comprehensive safeguards, and to do so within months of an election. It is utter madness. But it also undermines the DHS designation in place since Jan 2017.
What are we missing? What might be going on behind the scenes? Or have elements of the Federal Government conspired to create electoral chaos without any countermeasures?
