A lot of police are/have switched from UHF to digital MHz bands. Sometimes these tech upgrades make them more vulnerable to hacking vice the old analog UHF bands.

I spent some time in Hawaii back in 2017 and the police got rid of all their old reliable analog UHF equipment and moved to a digital MHz system. I wonder who manufactured the new system? Got sold with a bunch of new benefits like digital encryption and web aps. They old system is 100% gone…
What I'm thinking is the new police digital communication system (replaced the old UHF analog systems) uses microsoft Azure webservices and with MS365 down it also brought down their webservices which the new digital comm system uses for web app functionality etc.
Lesson to learn: Never get rid of your old analog system for backup!
MS Azure (webservice) active directory is down in some areas–this could easily be a service that some police digital communication systems use to route calls etc
